  1. Yes, that's true, but I like the flexibility, I made an even more detailed drawing. It might be a bit overkill for a normal house, but I do work a lot from home video editing, my girlfriend also works at home sometimes but lighter work I game a lot and we love 4k content and like our safety. If you add that all up I think we end up with something like this.
  2. True, but there is a chance that there will be an AP there or maybe a camera pointing down as an extra from the outside wall and that will be the shortest route, we want to future-proof this build as much as possible. Price difference is about €50,- in Holland.
  3. Thanks for the comprehensive explanation, you've given me a lot of information to delve into. We've made some minor modifications to our idea – we want to use a Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Dream Machine Special Edition alongside the modem. This device features a built-in network POE switch which we can use to connect APs and cameras for the future. Additionally, it functions as a router and serves as a storage point for the camera footage that we also want to monitor. Furthermore, we're starting with 1 AP to assess the range. We can always expand this later on, as there are a few spots where internet connectivity exists, allowing us to place APs, switches, and cameras in multiple locations. What do you think about this?
  4. I have added a diagram, maybe that makes it simpler. I don't think we need to use vLANS because both the access point and dream machine get their own cable, the issue is that I don't know if the access point can extend the network because it's not directly connected to the dreamscape but is connected to the modem. I could get two routers and make two networks with the same data but that's not a mesh and you will lose signal when moving, i was hoping to create a mesh even though the access point is not directly connected to the dream machine.
  5. Hi all! My girlfriend and I have bought a brand new house (we are Dutch) and our house is prefab, meaning everything is made of concrete, and pipes/cables, etc. are all concealed. The idea is that you bring your furniture and can immediately live in it upon delivery without the need for further renovations. However, I am facing a challenge, and unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a solution using Google... We are getting a fiber-optic connection, and our provider is giving us a modem/router combo. We plan to place this in the utility closet on the ground floor and only use it as a modem. Throughout the house, we have smart lights from Hue along with a bridge. A few Smart TVs and some phones. In the attic, we have our gaming PCs and workspaces so most speed is needed there. Now, I want to place a Ubiquiti Dream Machine in the attic (2nd floor) so that I can connect the computer directly to LAN. However, this leads to poor coverage downstairs. To address this, I thought about expanding the network with an Access Point, but there's only ONE cable going to the attic, so I can't run another cable down from the Dream Machine. Can I use a second port on the Modem/Router on the ground floor to extend the network of the Dream Machine, or does the Access Point have to be directly connected to the Dream Machine itself? It would be helpful if the Access Point could be connected to the modem downstairs, while still expanding the network of the Dream Machine upstairs so that everything is on one network. I'm open to alternatives if you have any suggestions! Thanks a lot. See picture for diagram what i would like to do, if possible.
  6. I don't think I have them anymore to be honest... you could download the workshop manual a 1000-page document with everything in it to rebuild a mx5.
  7. Very excited but also very cautious... I have been disappointed by modern games a lot, BF was for me the biggest disappointing, I paid a lot for that game and since then I watch gameplay before buying after release because the videos from the devs themselves are not really a good representation of how I will experience a game. And since there is so much hype around it, I feel like waiting till most reviews are in and then making the decision to buy I really miss a Fallout/MassEffect kind of RPG singleplayer game, and I think this checks most boxes, but ill wait...
  8. I did some research on this and long story short is that most OEM Cheap Online keys are illegal. But if you buy an OEM license for one O.S. for a new PC then it's legal, but you can only use it once for that one pc I thought but correct me if I'm wrong. For cheaper Steam games I do buy some games on G2play or Kinguin but AAA titles or games above €50,- I buy on the Steam/MS store.
  9. Living my last few months with my parents after a terrible housing market finally bought a home and will be moving soon. And taking fiber with 1 GB up & down. At the moment 600 down 60 up. Fine for most tasks but working from home as a video producer has its issues sometimes.
  10. My first question would be, why do you want an AIO? I have one myself, paid a lot for it, is not cooling that great and I feel like a normal air cooler would have done the job better.
  11. Cars that were designed as cabrio are better than cars that have the option to order them as Cabrio.
  12. For six years I had an account but never knew LTT had a car thread So here is my 2008 2.0 NC with some mods on it, I have driven it a lot on Zandvoort where the F1 will be in two weeks! Cannot wait.
  13. Yup, I felt the same as you but I don't have any proof of this. But we do about how she behaved to others (it's in multiple videos)...
  14. Yes, some parts are very true. I work with a lot of female workers because I'm in marketing and we have a great team. But some are more loose than others, and that's my biggest issue. Claiming you're one of the guys, making the same jokes and maybe even going to the limit yourself can happen, and I have seen it happen. I'm not taking sides, or disagreeing with you. I'm just sharing a side that also exists. Let's refresh our memory, ROG Reboot video in which Linus even corrected Maddison because she was going too far: 12:30... What if she said that when working there and a male said "Yes you are", then shit hits the fan. But it could also be just plain fun. There is no way of knowing if people don't communicate... My issue is that Madison has a history of saying weird stuff and that's fine. And if she did not like that maybe she should have stopped saying things like "I'm sexy ..." Those are very mixed signals to say on the one hand you don't want to be treated like that but saying stuff like this. To be honest, I liked Madison and if this never came out I would have still liked her, but to make these jokes yourself and now point the finger exactly at the same moment this shit show I find very distasteful.
  15. I woke up today, saw a video, and the floodgates opened... LMG made a lot of mistakes and I feel like they already knew this for a long time but only needed the time to implement changes, hire a new CEO, finish LTX ect. It's not weird for a company to have some big changing events in their history and some are overdue. Here are my thoughts if you're interested: The hole Maddison's situation is hard to judge as an external person, but I feel like she herself was a pretty loose girl in their way of behaving. Linus even corrected her in the ROG video. If you behave a certain way it's not uncommon to be treated the same way. Usually, that's good, people find buddies at work that share the same humor and way of thinking, if two people share some dark humor that's fine. It's a mutual agreement, I think her timing says it all. She could have put this in the open way earlier and I wonder if Maria, Sarah, Emily, and Nicole feel the same way. If not you could argue that it's self-inflicted. GamerNexus situations, hard to watch because Steve really showed some facts. Many of them I have also seen, mistakes in video edits in the comments etc. It hurts to see everything added to a list and realize how much was wrong and at this scale, you could say with some amount of certainty that people made choices based on that incorrect information... This should be corrected a.s.a.p. but if the video is any indication that is exactly what they are going to do. TheWaterBlockFiasco, was really a shit show, no matter about the 2 business days, the fact that the block was sold was even for me a pretty chill guy a reason to fire someone. It's a prototype/concept that should have its own bin with CAREFUL on it, or return to person X to be handled because it has more value than a part you can buy in a shop. I feel Linus could have handled this better, it almost felt like you wanted to win some arguments about not selling it but donating the price for charity, and it only being two business days. But if this would have happened the other way around he would be furious... If the LTT concept screwdriver was sent to MKBHD, and not returned and sold off later to another company (maybe a competitor) I'm pretty sure someone gets sued. Just own the mistake and move on no one is happy about this lessons should have been learned by now. The "What do we do now?" video, is overdue but has poor timing. This should have come out months ago. Now it seems (to me) that this was needed after the video of Steve. And it feels more like a reaction than actually something they have come up with themselves. Some jokes I would not have done but I get why to lighten up the mood somehow. Monetization is also an issue, but I get that a company that's about the stop one week of production needs the revenue so there is that... My overall opinion is that this was inevitable because the company grew too fast, (not that that is a bad thing) but you need to be very alert at that speed. And I feel like the release schedule was the biggest issue like many said in the interview video. Less time for producing and checking content. I just hope they really take the time to reflect, look back, and solve a lot. Don't forget that almost every company has moments like these. Nothing will be always perfect like a relationship, the issue with LMG is that it's a media company and everything gets zoomed in. If this would have happened at any other non-media company the "pain" so to speak would have been a lot less and manny would not have noticed it anyway. So take that into consideration when writhing something about people. Cheers and hope to see everyone back soon in better shape.
