I argue that keeping the core count to a max 6 (i still think for maintain 30fps to 60fps solid, 4 cores with good clocks are more than enough for 95% for games) and re-routing the power from the unnecessary cores to keep clocks up or have the gpu boost higher would be a sensible thing. Like value did with the steamdeck, I think having the lower core count is what allows it to perform better for gaming/emulation at lower TDP as compare to all the 7840U or Z1 Extremes. The only reason i can think of is that Z1 and 7840U are not purpose built for handheld but are built for laptops with ~ 30 to 60 Watt TDP -
I need a GOOD HDR moniter for 60FPS gaming on budget. All decently reviewed products are expensive and beyond budget Can someone recommend HDR panels 24 to 27 inch which are actually good and available to buy, bonus if the driver circuit also available.

The 4k panel which the same laptop has uses 40pin 4 lane EDP But there could be a catch that ? is using 2 motherboard or alteast diff connector on motherboard or maybe some sort of adapted cable I wanna confirm that

My laptop [Alienware 15 r3 60Hz Gsync AUO B156HAN06.0 HW2A] orignal screen has 30pin edp connector (I dont know what type of socket is on the motherboard) i know 15r3 has 4k options which uses 40pin (so i am assuming their motherboard can do both or i am completly wrong and 4k models have diff motherboard connectors too) i am looking for a 144hz screens (aliexpress) most of then are 40pin (lcd 1080p 144hz and if possible HDR) SO, can i just get the 40pin lcd ribbon cable (for 15r3) along with the screen ASSUMING the motherboard socket can do both/or_is_independent_of_lcd_connector any help would be appriciated

after applying the speed setting in bios save and restart system tries to start but after 10 15 sec it resets it self to stock 1.6ghz speed

regarding voltage settings i went up to 1.43 volt but cant go beyond 2.7ghz any thoughts

so guys i use msi afterburn/riva_tuner to moniter cpu/gpu usage in-game while playing sometime i observe (2 core 4 thread cpu) 1. gpu usage pegged at 100 but cpu is like 60 so i conclude that game is gpu intensive, hence gpu is the bottleneck (comment bleow if my assesment is wrong/right??) 2. cpu at 100 but but gpu at 60 (gta5) so is my cpu a bottleneck ?? 3. now the wierd part , both cpu/gpu at 60 and low fps (vsync off) now how do i isolate the bottleneck???? any better way to find the bottleneck??? any way if i can check if my ram speed is the bottleneck (not capacity but speed) ??

(Directly reach end for the questions) i need a simple explanation/guide for some of the setting to tweak when oc my cpu. motherboard gigabyte g41m combo lga775 cpu pentium dualcore e2140 @1.6 but currently oc to 2.72ghz at 1.25volt (i am still wating for my q8400 cpu to arrive) ram 2 sticks a. ddr2 800mhz 2gig b. ddr2 667mhz 512mb my question is 1. when i increase 'cpu host freq' the 'memory freq automatically increases' why is that??? 2. can i raise it to any value while overclocking??? 3. what are the consequences of running at higher/lower than 667mhz (in my case) ???? 4. its got a ddr3 slots too , will i be able to go further i i use ddr3 ram for faster fsb or something ?? 5. any other relevant clock/timer/multiplier i should keep my eyes on while oc??? guys please if possible mention the question number for which you are answering

i am going with GA-G41M-Combo motherboard (supports all core 2 quad) it supports both ddr2/3 ram if i put in a Q8200S core 2 quad which is a 1333mhz fsb cpu and ddr2 ram (my old rams cuz i still have to decide a cpu for this board) will it work????????
