  1. 1. Recently I built a new pc and I lost the RGB cable for 5 volts on the Lain Li Strimer V1. Is there any cable or adapter out there I could use for it? 2. My large 3.5inch western digital black hard drive just stopped functioning after I deleted the intel optane programs off my windows 10 install (I had it setup as raided with a intel optane drive). I didn't see if it was detected beforehand, but I used Startechs sata to usb cable on it and connected it to other devices and the drive refused to spin up. Is it dead? Because CMD, Macrium Reflect, nor windows disk manager recognizes it at all. I did hear it make clicking noises while in use for awhile. 2. Forgot to add I have 2TB HDDs now, one 3.5inch and one 2.5inch. The other drives are an sn500 wd blue and an Intel optane stick. I also have a PNY RTX 3080 not asus but should be the same.
  3. I recently bought a corsair RM750 and the rails seem better on the corsair than this power supply but I'm expecting to upgrade soon. I was worried about wattage with the new parts because they totaled 616 watts and my old bronze corsair 650w struggled with my current mid-high tower pc. The psus are obv different now. These are the parts I have now: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i7-8700 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor Purchased For $250.00 CPU Cooler Corsair H60 (2018) 57.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Purchased For $75.58 Motherboard Asus ROG Strix H370-F Gaming ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Purchased For $145.13 Memory Corsair Vengeance RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2666 CL16 Memory $154.79 Storage Western Digital Blue SN550 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $64.94 Storage Western Digital WD Blue 500 GB 2.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive $36.68 @ Amazon Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $39.99 @ Amazon Storage Western Digital Caviar Black 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $128.50 Video Card Asus GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB TUF GAMING Video Card Case Corsair SPEC-OMEGA RGB ATX Mid Tower Case $151.54 Power Supply Corsair CXM 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply $85.00 Wireless Network Adapter TP-Link Archer T6E AC1300 PCIe x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter $38.96 Case Fan Thermaltake Riing 40.6 CFM 120 mm Fan $41.78 Monitor MSI Optix G24C4 23.6" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor $227.30 Keyboard Corsair K55 RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard $64.00 Custom Insignia™ - 2.1-Channel 80W Soundbar System with Wireless Subwoofer - Black $44.10 Custom Webcam with Microphone,1080P HD Streaming Webcam for PC Computer Laptops, Desktop and Gaming,Conferencing,2.0 USB Video Chatting Flexible Rotatable Clip (A5) $35.50 Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $1583.79 Generated by PCPartPicker 2021-01-02 17:03 EST-0500 Vs what I want in the future: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i9-10850K 3.6 GHz 10-Core Processor $419.99 @ Newegg CPU Cooler Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM SE 63 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler $169.99 @ Best Buy Motherboard Gigabyte Z490 VISION D ATX LGA1200 Motherboard $290.99 @ Amazon Memory Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory $429.99 @ Amazon Video Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB Founders Edition Video Card $750.00 Case Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic Razer ATX Full Tower Case $169.99 @ B&H Power Supply Phanteks Revolt Pro 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Keyboard Logitech G915 Lightspeed RGB Wireless Gaming Keyboard $249.99 @ Adorama Mouse Corsair DARK CORE RGB PRO SE Wireless Optical Mouse $89.99 @ Amazon Custom Eve Spectrum $669.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $3239.93 Generated by PCPartPicker 2021-01-02 17:04 EST-0500
  4. I recently bought this power supply from microcenter and can't find any reviews on it so I'm assuming it's a new product that was produced recently. It's a Gskill gpx850g, at least that's the model name. Micro center reviews seem good except for one, but I don't live in the area where the micro center is so its not like I can return it if it doesn't work and would have to rely on warranty. Anybody with this psu and technical knowledge know if it's good just by the spec?
  5. I chose the ending where you bust into arasaka tower, not really gonna spoil anything there but I died ONCE from smasher and my "second heart" ability didn't work, I just died after getting blasted with missiles. Now everytime I load into any previous save my character just dies, telling me to load into another save. I really hope my entire playthrough isn't lost? Haven't jumped back onto the game, just outright quit the program, ill try it out to tomorrow but I don't expect any differences....really need help on this one.
  6. it was an open box pc so i think some other user might have done it though idk, at least the 3100 is faster than the 3200g, the gt 710 is a pretty shite gpu though but i mean nothing is really available atm. Think i should tell him to return it and get a better prebuilt? He might not like that idea though since he wanted the pc now.
  7. Update: turns out newegg lied and the pc didnt have a 3200g inside of it, it was swapped for a ryzen 3 3100 which doesnt have integrated graphics.
  8. I'll suggest both of these options to him and see what the outcome is. Though that'll be in a day or two since testing, updating everything, etc takes time. Ill leave the thread open for now.
  9. yeah thats what i was trying to tell him, he said he'd remove the gpu later. Though not sure if it'll just work if he plugs it into the hdmi port on the motherboard, theoretically it should, but it should also let him switch it even though he has it plugged into the gpu, no?
  10. I'm new to amd processors so im not familiar how to change this particular setting, google isnt helpful and my friend doesnt know how to switch it in bios. Its grayed out in his bios settings but his hdmi port is connected to the gt 710. Both the motherboard (asrock a320m) and cpu (amd ryzen 3200g) support video output of integrated graphics so I'm a bti confused as to why it wouldn't let him change it. Its an ibuypower pc.
  11. Also it seems that lowering the power consumption limit in msi afterburner is working so far + opening the window and turning of rgb lights reduced the heat, at least, to a bearable amount. So guess I need a new psu + better ventilation.
  12. Not sure about a window AC since I still live with my parents and at least one of them complains about the electric bill since my younger brother has an ac unit since his room has no internal ac. My PC + TV + Window AC unit + fridge, lots of power consumption. Though a ventilation hole maybe more feasible since I think that'll consume less power.
  13. Oh no my RAM is fine, the previous replier was confused as to what kind of RAM i was referring to that i had listed in my post. I was just saying that I should avoid the pro corsair RAM if i decide to upgrade my RAM in the future. As for the 3080, GPUs are hard to get as of present so i don't think it would be in my best interest to do so...so ill probably keep the 3080. But opening my window usually works, though not ideal, and i think different ways to increase the airflow in my room could benefit the temp. in here a lot. Maybe a fan window? Not sure though, as i dont want bugs racing inside my room from opening any holes to the outside. Turning off my RGB lighting is also another heat reducer, but those ideas are as far as i think i could go but im open for any suggestions.
  14. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077HYCZ4Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_izS4FbFMQF1EE I have this kind of RAM, and I didnt know the RGB Vengeance pro wasn't compatible with the Asus Strix H370-F...might have to avoid purchasing them in the future if I do upgrades.
  15. I'll look into it and see what my results are, and report it back here in a bit. But, heat is still of concern in the room. Other than increasing airflow in the room, wouldn't building a smaller pc produce less heat? Though, kind of a dumb question since wattage = heat output.
  16. I have an rtx 3080 and an i7 8700 in a mid tower ATX case. But for some reason cyberpunk keeps crashing, or the framerate just drops and the game crashes occasionally. My laptop did a way better job at keeping it running (20-30fps) for hours without crashing, and even producing less heat. I understand that my components in my desktop PC are more power hungry than the laptop, but this desktop pc issue is becoming a problem for heat in my room. Any suggestions as to fix this as well as to have a pc that produces less heat? 17. PC is always connected to the TV, and when it gets stuck it doesn't want to boot, fans will ramp up really fast and nothing will happen on screen or to the PC till i turn it off and on.
  18. I recently bought the LGNANO49 TV and have my RTX 3080 connected to it, problem is using the HDMI 2.1 cable i bought off amazon seems to cause the PC to get stuck when booting up each time i turn it on. I have to turn it off again and turn it back on a second time for it POST to the TV and it runs normally. Though this is a bit annoying and i wanted to fix it, any suggestions? 19. I recently purchased this case and the rgb lighting isn't working correctly. I have the USB connector connected to the commander pro and synapse isnt picking it up, nor is the lighting setup on the commander pro when i set it it to two RGB strips. Do i need it directly connected to the motherboard cause i only have 1 USB 2.0 port....would need to buy an adapter.
  20. I don't really have a lot of money to throw around and there's new PC hardware coming out in the coming months. Is it OK to use my motherboard like that? Replacing the board on the soon-to-be-dead 8th-9th gen platform doesn't seem like a smart choice atm, I could buy a new mb from amazon and return it but that's a hassle, so I'm a little stuck here. Anyone have any suggestions?
  21. PSU is functional and has been powering my system for over 24 Hours, but the motherboard definitely needs to be replaced as the FAN headers are unusable and smells like plastic. I could test the PSU to see if it smells after running it by itself but i don't think its broken.
  22. Should i continue to use the power supply though and motherboard or should i replace them both? I had already removed the corsair cables and its running OK now minus the damaged hdds, motherboard FAN headers, and smell of plastic.
  23. I bought an EVGA 850 watt gold power supply and i had used my old corsair modular cables because they were flatter, and i also didnt connect the CPU connector correctly into the motherboard. When i powered it on it smelled like burn and i immediately turned off my PC. I then took it apart and checked every connection and nothing looked burned but upon further testing i found out that my two free hard drives were shot and the connectors smelled like burn. After correctly using the right cables, making sure it was plugged in, and checking the power supply to make sure there werent any burned capacitors, everything worked without flaw except for all of my motherboards FAN connectors as the controller seemed to no longer work. (high rpms without a way to control it so i bought an external fan controller) Only problem i am having now is that my PC is giving off a muted plastic smell from the CPU connector...though I'm not sure if its the entire unit as it doesn't really smell that strongly on the PSU unit itself. Should i continue using my asus strix h370 F and PSU or should i buy a new motherboard and return the power supply to the reseller?
  24. My corsair iCUE software is showing the nvidia overlay on top of it, yknow, the typical FPS counter on the top right or left of the screen? How do i exclude the corsair iCUE software from being registered as a game?
