To reiterate the title with a bit more information, the fan on my laptop (a Samsung RV515) runs during bootup at full power and stops (or at least becomes inaudible and puts out no air) once the OS (Windows 7) loads. Should my laptop begin overheating, the fan barely kicks in and I can hardly tell that it's running. What I'm asking is...
How do I make my laptops fan run consistently and at a higher power?
I've attempted to use Speedfan to, well, speed up my fan to no avail (though it has proved handy in keeping track of how hot I'm running), despite following all instructions and workarounds I've read. Speaking of reading, I've read that my fan issue might be due to a "power saving" function in the laptop to increase battery life. However, this problem exists regardless if I use battery or AC power. Might any of you, friendly tech tippers, have advice on how to control my fan?
