Welp, Microsoft decided to get aggressive with updates again. I saw an update waiting for my 8770w, and decided to hold off on installing it. I put the thing to sleep overnight and came back the next morning. Next morning, I see that it's rebooted itself and installed the update without my explicit permission. I get greeted with this data-slurping screen:

No, Microsoft. I didn't want you to go behind my back and force-install updates when my laptop is asleep. Get your act together and stop pushing PUP $#!t down our throats. I was expecting you to have gotten your act together by now. Perhaps that was too much to ask...

    well i've talked with the Edge community manager over on the Microsoft community discord, and she doesn't like this setup thing filling the whole screen on Edge either so you're not alone.

    Seriously considering nuking all my Windows installs and switching to Linux, regardless of whether I can get it gaming reliably. I barely game atm, since I'm waiting to get my server setup. But at this rate, I might not even care anymore. I need a minute...

    I updated to the new service pack last month and I had to switch my default browser back to Firefox.

    i considered that too, but i need Windows for some games and also i need SLI for my gpu so...
