Project New Client

Assuming that I continue the trend of using my laptop(s) primarily as remote access clients/terminals for my T7500 workstation at home, I shouldn't really need anything amazing to take with me, on-the-go. So, why do I have the urge to replace my ProBook 6475b with this:

I know - overkill laptop is old. But old laptop is also repairable (unlike BGA components) ;) And yes - I know it's IvyBridge. Still better than what I currently have. Also, not interested in thin-and-light. I'm already used to carrying heavier laptops, so I'm willing to get something chunky if it has decent specs and is easy to maintain/repair over time :D And they kept the Expresscard slot :3 That means my current eGPU dock stays! Just wish that I could get an MXM 3.0b GPU for cheap...

This is the main reason I'm thinking about getting a lower end Thinkpad.
