  1. Many thanks for your help, it's much appreciated.
  2. No wonder I was struggling to find a 'DisplayPort splitter'. Are you able to recommend a decent one? Also, after having a quick look, none of the MST hubs I saw explicitly mentioned refresh rates greater than 60hz (either at all or at 1440p); is this an unreasonable expectation from a single 'DisplayPort output'? Thanks for pointing out that my solution #2, above, will not work. This reminds me of the classic story of an owner of a Fish and Chips shop ordering a new sign. The sign arrives but it reads, 'FishandChips'. The owner says, 'There needs to be more space between Fish and and and and and Chips.'
  3. Hi, A friend of mine is purchasing two Asus 27" PG278Q G-Sync 144Hz Monitors (Res: 1440) (Info here). He has the same GPUs as me, 2x Gigabyte GTX 780ti (Ghz edn) He he aiming to run the two monitors in extended mode. The issues: 1. Each monitor only has one input (1x DP). 2. Restricted to using one GPU for output per SLI group. 3. Each GPU only has one DisplayPort (Is is correct to say 'A DisplayPort port' or is the second 'port' deemed redundant? ) 4. (Potential issue) 2560 x 1440 resolution per monitor. The two solutions I can see are: 1. DP splitter; or 2. DP -> Primary monitor and DVI -> DP converter for secondary monitor. It seems, prima facie, that option two would be preferable as the primary monitor would not be subject to any restrictions or limitations. Would you agree that this is the best solution? Any help is appreciated, especially if I have overlooked something. Cheers.
  4. Hi all, I have just purchased the Steelseries H wireless. I seem to be experiencing something strange or at least strange to me; I can only describe it as loopback from the microphone. Simply put, I can hear my own voice from the mic through the speakers in the headset. What I find strange is that this still occurs where there are no inputs or outputs are connected to the wireless hub receiver (that being the loopback is not attributed to any external devices, such as my PC) and the volume on the headset is the lowest it can go; vis. when there is meant to be no sound. Is this effect intended or is it possible there is some fault causing it? I would be very grateful if somebody who owns or has used this headset could comment on their experience. Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks to the both of you. I purchased the G502 a couple of weeks ago; it's perfect for my grip style. My only minor complain is that it is quite heavy, but I can get used to that. I've chosen STRMfrmXMN's answer simply because it's slightly more detailed, but I could have selected either, for they both get the job done. Thanks again.
  6. Imagine all the things you can do with a NUC. I'd like to stick it in my car for the ultimate auto-syncing media device, if only to test the idea. Likewise, it would be fantastic in the living room. Thanks LGM for another marvellous giveaway.
  7. Hi all, I am looking for some recommendations on what would be the most preferable mice for use with the fingertip grip style. I aim to spend roughly between £50-100. I have my eye on the new Corsair Sabre as it would perfectly match my K95 RGB, however visuals are merely an afterthought to me. Lastly, what is the latest majority view on the Laser v Optical debate? Cheers
  8. Thanks everyone for your help, much appreciated. I am going to get the air 540. I'm half interested in going for a custom water cooling loop, although I have no experience in that area. FYI: I'm choosing Mick, for he substantiated his answer with real world results.
  9. I like your creativity but my DIY skills are terrible at best. Haha. It would seem that a new case is in order. The air 540 seems to have good reviews (Linus was positive in his unboxing and AnandTech has an extensive review). What other cases would be in the same category as the air 540? I have switched the SLI fingers but it didn't seem to have any noticeable difference. Could you please elaborate on any issue(s) with the air 450 and the reasons why it wouldn't 'help'? Cheers guys.
  10. Specs: CPU: 4770K @ 4.2 Case: Lian Li PC-B12SB (2x Front 140mm, 1 rear 120mm) Mobo: Maximus Hero VI PSU: Corsair AX1200I GPUS: 2x Gigabyte GTX 780 ti Ghz Edition SLI
  11. Thanks Antec, Linus and the rest of the team. I would suggest the Kuhler 1250 for its simplicity and dual pumps. Redundancy FTW.
  12. Thanks for your input everyone. Reseating the offending card solved the issue. Out of curiosity, does anyone have any theories as to why this issue occurred? Additionally, it is possible that the card could have a fault of some sort?
  13. Specs: CPU: 4770K @4.2 Mobo: Maximus Hero VI PSU: Corsair AX1200I GPUS: Gigabyte GTX 780 ti Ghz Edition SLI Background: I awoke to find my PC with nothing but a blank screen (I leave it on overnight) and I was unable to get a picture on the monitor. After switching the DVI cable from the top card to the bottom card I was able to get an input and log into windows. NB: I have had this SLI setup for a little over a month. Issue: Both Windows 8 x64 and the technical preview (10) only detects the one card, that being the bottom card, to which the DVI cable is now attached. It may be a coincidence but once I had the side panel off and the PC was lying on its side it seemed to be detected correctly.
  14. Thanks everyone. @ I simply had moment of doubt with me being somewhat of a noob when it comes to hardware. Since the Gigabyte card is rather large one, I began questioning whether or not there is sufficient spacing between the two cards. Additionally, I was a little concerned about its length and depth; I wasn't sure if it would clear the Z87 chipset block to the right.
  15. Hi all, A quick (noob) question: Just double checking, is it possable to fit a second Gigabyte 770 (4GB) into the Hero VI? I am slightly concerned with regards to its physical size.
