  1. I was suprised when I saw the big 180W TDP for the non k 12700, that's why I consider these AIO. I still believe the 12600k might need a decent solution, but if I end up with the 12400, I have to agree that I don't need a beefy cooler like that. Thanks for the reply, appreciate the infos
  2. I'll be updating my post with prices since it's usefull infos, but at the moment, on the 4 I talked about, the kraken is the cheapest with a nice discount on amazon bringing it to 115$CAD. I'm just a bit scared if I go with 12700 with the 180W TDP, it's a lot of power draw. meshify C mini supports 280mm on the front and 240mm on the top for radiators.
  3. Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, even though I won,t be overclocking, I still believe the 12600k is a good upgrade after the 12400. I'm in Canada, so no microcenter sadly. Right now, if I'm looking at pcpartpicker, price are looking like these : 12400(220/240$CAD for the f/non f respectively), 12600k(340$/450$CAD for f/non f) and 12700 (400/440$CAD for f/non f). Right now, it's a big 50% price increade from 12400 from 12600k, which I find a bit high only for those e cores. Still not sure what,s the call here, but thanks a lot for your reply!
  4. Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well. It's finally time to upgrade my machine. Until this day, I was using a core i7-7700k. It served me well for the past 5 years, but I'm ready for an upgrade! I got a Radeon 6900xt about 2 months ago during an AMD online drop event. Totally overkill, that's fair, but at that point I got what I could get and had the extra money for it at the time. The 6900XT will be pretty much the only thing that will be brought onto the new build, with storage drives and the case. Budget (including currency): I don't want to set a limit, but I want *bang for the buck* parts. For example, I won't get a 12900ks even though I say unlimited budget, this part just doesn't make sense. Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Will be used for programming (Visual Studio, Android Studio, IntelliJ). Gaming (varried titles, but at the moment: Far cry 6, Elden Ring, Forza horizon 5, Rocket League, Warzone and many more) and content consumption (Youtube, twitch, netflix yadi yada). Often 2 of these at the same time (gaming and watching youtube twitch on 2nd monitor) Other details As I said earlier, upgrading from 7700k on Z270 platform. I Already bought Motherboard (MSI mag Mortar B660M), powersupply (Corsair RM serie 2021 850W Gold) and Ram (XPG Gammix D10 32Gb 3200Mhz Cl16). I will reuse my actual case (Meshify C mini mATX) and my GPU (Amd Radeon RX6900xt reference design) and my storage drives. I'll be keeping my monitors. Principal monitor is Gigabyte M27Q 27" 1440P 170Hz, it's the one on which I play games. Second monitor don't remember the model but a BenQ 24" 1440p 60hz, is the one on which I put the twitch or youtube while gaming or doing other stuff. The only that I am missing, and I'm having an hard time deciding, is CPU and CPU cooler. I already decided I was going intel 12th gen because I picked the B660M board. With this choice I also accepted I won't be doing any overclocking. My consideration at the moment where: -i5 12400 (atm 220$CAD) -i5 12600k (atm 340$CAD) -i7-12700 (atm 400$CAD) Even though I'll be on B660 platform, I believe the 12600k is still a good choice because of the efficiency core and the higher boost clock. I'm not sure what I really need, but I'd like to to get something a little more powerfull for "futureproofing", classic..I might still hold onto that machine for another 5 years as I did with my 7700k. 12700 looks like a very powerfull CPU that could last me a while, even though it might be overkill for now. 2nd part decision (which will be impacted by the first one) is the CPU cooler. Right now I was debating between these parts : - NZXT Kraken X63 280mm aio (atm on sale on amazon for 114$CAD) - ARCTIC liquid freezer II 280mm aio (something like 140+20 import fees, so about 160$CAD) - BeQuiet! dark rock pro4 (atm 125$CAD) - Noctua NH-D15 (atm 140$CAD) My first thought was the ARCTIC freezer II, looks like it packs a punch and is not too loud, but it's the harder to get to Canada and probably the most expensive after import fees, and I don't know if the extra money is worth it. So, there you go guys, help me decide what I should do ! you can of course suggest other parts I did not mention, I might not have seen everything. Thanks a lot in advance, have a good one. *Edited to put prices here. Prices are as of writing and may be subject to change.. of course.
  5. Hello guys! I just wanted to share my build with you, because I thought it would be a shame to have fun making a nice computer and nobody can see it ! I'm not an expert, it's not my first build but I only had a few, so don't have that much experience. It all started last year when I originaly put up that build in my InWin 301. At that time it was ok but then I decided to upgrade my cooling solution to a H100i V2 by Corsair. It was a pain in the *ss just to put it in the case, and the airflow was restricted a lot, so the rad wasn't doing a nice job. I decided I needed a case upgrade, one that could fit all my components with sufficient airflow. I had an hard time finding the case because there was always something to annoy me (No clear side panel, not enough clearance, bad airflow, etc). I also need to mention that I think I do have big components for mATX, wich was hard to find a small case with that much clearance. After one or two weeks searching, I finnaly remembered Cooler Master was releasing new series mATX case. I was lucky, I remembered that the same week it launched. So I bought the Q300L and decided to swap all my build in it. Parts list : Motherboard : Asus ROG Strix Z270G Gaming mATX CPU : Intel Core i5-6600k Overclocked to 4.6Ghz CPU Cooler : Corsair H100i v2 AIO RAM : 16Gb G.Skill TridentZ RGB DDR4-3000 Storage : 525gb Crucial MX300 SATA SSD + 1Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm HDD GPU : Asus ROG Strix Geforce GTX 1070 Case : Cooler Master Q300L OS : Windows 10 Home Unfortunately, I forgot to take picture along the way, so I only do have before and after photos, anyways I'm not a professionnal photo guy. First, I checked the two cases side by side. The footprint of these cases is about the same. The major difference betwen the two cases is that the CM has the PSU at the bottom while the InWin has the PSU on top. Other than that, the CM was built with airflow in mind, that's why it is perforated all around and the dust filter are making the design of the case. The InWin doesn't have airflow at the front of the case, only from the bottom and a bit on the back panel, but when all cables are tied on the back, there is not a lot of air that's coming through. It finally took me a couple of hours to make things looks like what I wanted, making the best cable management I'm able to do, etc. I'm pretty happy with this new case, for 60$CAD free shipped to my door, it is a very good budget mATX case. It certainly lacks some high end feature, but this isn't and high-end case so it is understandable. Final build : And then, when AURA do its job : video-1521181938.mp4 Thanks for reading this far, I hope you appreciated, feel free to give me your opinion, the goods and the bad, or any advice to help me do better the next time Feel free to ask any question regarding the build or the component, I'll do my bets to answer ! Have a nice day *Sorry for the typos, English is my 2nd language, I do my best. ** Sorry for the picture quality, all the pics were taken with my cellphone. 6. Did the bios update, didn't work either, did the video driver, and it seemed to work !! Wow thanks a lot man, this problem was very annoying for me, thanks again !
  7. BIOS reset to default and the problem is still there. I should reinstall the video driver now, but I'm not sure how to do it properly
  8. Yes, if I restart the computer everything is okay, the problem occurs only when I get out of sleep mode. How would I reinstall the video driver to test it out ?
  9. Damn, went too fast and completely forgot about it.. Acer Aspire R5-471T Windows 10 64 bit Intel HD Graphics 520 ( on a 6th gen i5 [i5-6200u if my memory's good] Last time windows was updated was like a week ago with the newest windows 10 update, but the problem was there before (thought the problem would maybe disapear with the patch but it stayed )
  10. Hi guys, My laptop is actually having a very annoying problem. Everytime I wake me computer up from sleep mode, my screen looks like this :The square bottom left is my mouse and I can see it mooving if I moove my mouse. The problem is I can't even unlock my computer or do anything, I need to shut down completely the system and start it over. It is annoying since I need to keep my computer up and running all the time or shut it down completely each team. I can't just shut the cover and go, I'll loose everything I didn't save because I'll need to force a reboot. Do anybody have the answer to this problem, or any clue ? Thanks a lot.
  11. For info, when Unigine Valley run for a bit of time, my max GPU temp is about 65-66C, and on load, my CPU (Ryzen 3 1200, 3.7Ghz Overclock on stock cooler) goes around 48,49C
  12. You mean that the air would still come in without the fans because of the card succing it in ? That make sense, but if I moove the case fan to the front, it will so create a big negative pressure ? would it be bad or is it not that bad since there's is no dust filter on the back side panel (where the air for front fans would come in) Yes, these two fans are INTAKE fans, there is a big dust filter on the bottom that cover all under the case. Yes these fans are intake.
  13. Hi guys, I'm currently asking myself if it is good or bad to have my graphic card this cloose to my system fan. I'm thinking that it will be good for the card because it will have fresh air directly pushed in it, but at the smae time I'm wondering if it will keep the rest of the pc warmer since all the fresh air will go in the graphic card. This is my setup : Case : Inwin 301 mATX case Fans : 2 bottoms fan are intake, back fan is exhaust. GPU : MSI Gaming X GTX 970 I don't have other PCIe x16 slot so I can't moove my card, but I think there would be enough place for me to put the 2 bottom fans at the front, but I don't think the airflow would be optimal since there are a lot of cable stuck behind and the aiflow isn't directly at the front (actually it is on the back side panel, you can look for Inwin 301 case if you don't understand well.) Would like to know your advice on this one, thank a lot !
  14. Hi guys, I'm just having an annoying issue, and I'm not sure what is the source of the problem. Everytime I go on a web browser (tried chrome and opera) I'm having a persistent black screen refresh and when I listen to video it makes them pause and sometime black or green screen. Sometimes I see ''WebGL has stopped working'' on the top of my screen, so it may be this, but how to eliminate that problem. There are some info :< -Ryzen 3 1200 - MSI b350M gaming Pro mATX - Sillicon Power 128Go SSD - MSI GTX 970 gaming x - Windows 10 64bit - BenQ 1440p monitor. So here's what I've tried : - Swapping for another graphics card (borrowed my friend's EVGA 970) didn't solve the problem. - Changing my cable to my monitor (HDMI, DVI, DP) didn't solve the problem. - Reinstalling Chrome and tried other browser (opera) didn't solve the problem. So now I don't have any clue on how I'm going to solve that problem and it is quite annoying since it make a black refresh screen often and it can crash some site.. Please help ! Thanks in advance.
