I second @EMC. The LG Gram would be perfect.

Sealed box would be best, I think you can ask customs officers for sealing tape. Though if you don't have any layovers, then there's no need for sealing it.

I will follow your advice and buy the i7 8700. Hope the C7 can handle it.

The i7 8700 is identical in performance to the stock i7 8700k, however it has only 65W of TDP opposed to the i7 8700k 95w, this means the locked one is much more cool CPU by default... since it is locked they can make it as efficient as possible.

Get the i7 8700 locked instead and there you go, problem solved and you still save money and ends up with the identical same performance of the i7 8700k at stock and overclocking it would give you so little extra performance don't really think this would give you any "extra-life" out of it.

It might do if you downvolt. But I'm with you getting H7 or maybe Pure Rock.

It's a high performance chip, don't cheap-out on the cooling... Don't be an idiot. Get an AIO or something, or something like a Thermaltake Frio Extreme Silent 14, Scythe Mugen 5 PCGH Edition or Noctua NH-U14S/ D15.

The H7 from cryorig is the best budget cooler u can get.
Dont get a low profile cooler if u want a good performance.

Just click install through steam as if your redownloading it. As long as you set the install directory to the same one the files are already in it will just check to make sure their all there and you're good to go

reduce temps and noise (reduce heat), reduce power (slightly longer battery life)
    no performance loss

It's a solid motherboard. If I'm not mistaken, it's a significant upgrade from the Z270 variant and is comparable to the beloved Taichi.

Intel Optane is a gimmick at this point. Any normal person would just get a regular HDD + SSD combo.

JustAnotherIntelFanBoy reacted to Bananasplit_00 in Optane?
Optane is a waste of your money IMO, can it even be used to accelerate anything but the OS drive? if it can then maybe a see some sort of place for it but id rather just buy a 120gb SSD more and add it in

JustAnotherIntelFanBoy reacted to HKZeroFive in I5 8400
The 4GHz figure you're referencing is the "All Core Turbo" (or MCE) for the i5-8400. Basically, it's an auto OC'ing feature where the motherboard pumps up the voltage to get all cores up to the single-core turbo frequency... and in the process increases your power consumption and thermals. I think it only applies to Z370 motherboards.

The best thing you can do is to get the i5-8400 with a Z370 motherboard and pair it with fast memory. Better than overclocking the actual chip.

    850w isn't a bit overkill?
