  1. ok unplugging it and pluging it back in seemed to work. If it starts crackling again I'll just buy a new cable.
  2. I have been recently hearing this sort of static, crackling sound coming from my psu (at least I think it is my psu). I have had a SeaSonic PRIME Ultra Titanium 850 W 80+ psu for around a year now it just started making those noises. For reference, I run a 9900k, 32gb of ram, 2080ti, 2 nvme m.2 drives, a 360mm aio, and 4 nfa-12x25 fans. This video shows it during idle conditions, it flares up especially during heavy workloads like gaming. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and why it has started happening after almost a year of this not happening?
  3. Oh my god it worked thank you! You are the best!
  4. Do preface this, I have a drive that has Zorin OS (ubuntu derivative) and another drive that has windows. The Zorin OS one is my main drive. I tried booting from the windows drive today and I get this error: "grub unknown filesystem" and it just gives me a command prompt. I checked and all my files are still technically on the drive but the bootloader seems to be broken somehow. If you can help me find a solution I will be more than grateful.
  5. Rip. Well I mean I can turn down some settings to get 144hz, but it has good enough HDR and colors that the main selling point of this monitor is also for visuals, not just framerate. Maybe in the future I might upgrade my pc with a 4k 144hz capable card. And I mean, for now, I will probably run it at 98hz hdr 10 bit color, which is like the maximum framerate this card can do in AAA games.
  6. Probably not going to make a new pc for this monitor. Maybe in the distant future but my pc should last me a good while.
  7. Much thank. I was getting worried about compatibility. Also I have a 2080ti and 9900k so that might be enough. I will have to see.
  8. are you running memory in dual channel? Ryzen likes faster memory too so that might be the problem? I am not experienced with Rainbow Six Siege so I can really only guess what the problem might be. Can you give me the exact graphical settings you have too?
  9. what resolution are you playing at?
  10. I was going to buy an ASUS PG27UQX, if and when that comes out, and I believe it uses chroma subsampling to achieve 4k@144hz. When displayport 2.0 comes out, will it be compatible with that monitor's display port, enabling it to run at full 10 bit color, 4k 144hz, and HDR? Or will asus have to manufacture a new monitor with a "displayport 2.0 port?" Basically my question is if displayport 2.0 will work with any existing displayport port. Thanks
  11. I bought the Cablemod vertical GPU mount so I could mount my Asus Strix 2080ti vertically in my case, which is a dark base 700. When I tried to put it in, it would not fit in the pci-e brackets. The screws included with the case did not work with the vertical GPU mount either. If you have an answer to what could possibly be happening please reply.
  12. Ok that is what I was thinking to do too. I'll just get the Aorus Master then
  13. So do you think I could get the ASUS Maximux XI Code, or is that still just a 4 phase vrm like the Maximus xi hero?
  14. I am having trouble chosing a power supply for my PC. I was thinking of going with a 600 watt seasonic fanless but a 2080ti and 9900k require a lot of power. Here are my specs: CPU: Intel - Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor CPU Cooler: NZXT - Kraken X72 Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Corsair - Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Storage: Samsung - 970 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive Video Card: Asus - GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB ROG Strix Gaming OC Video Card Case: be quiet! - Dark Base 700 ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: SeaSonic - PRIME Titanium 600 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully-Modular Fanless ATX Power Supply (can change) Fans: Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM * 4
