TryArch reacted to Cream pie filled car in 3rd party iPhone screen repair
If its just changing the screen only, then I think its fine. If they are going to change the home button, that that will be an issue of bricking the phone

Cable modem --> router --> me
Haha, new setup.
Cable modem --> WNR1000 Router --> Netbook --> WNR3000 V3 Router --> Athena, my Dell, or whatever is hooked up to my third Ethernet cable or the wireless (which is off).

Have you opened the ports on the modem as well?

> try connecting to the server locally through your global IP. The one you get from going onto google and typing "my ip". this is to make sure that it is not a bug or problem with any software are hardware related issues that might be caused by the PC itself.
> If you can connect through this IP, then it may be caused by the router not letting certain people connecting, and may even be a problem with the target computer that you are trying to connect to the server, and might even be a case with the port forwarding, or lack thereof.
> If you CANNOT connect through the IP, then it is a case of bad port forwarding, or bad application blocking via the firewall.

http://www.canyouseeme.org/ Does that say port 25565 is closed?
Your ISP might be double NAT'ing you, which causes problems with port forwarding.
Double NAT is used by ISP's due to the lack of IPV4 addresses. The only way to get around it, is by getting a static address from them (which normally costs some money each month)
The alternative would be to use something like Hamachi, to create a virtual private network (Making you and your friends PC's think they're on the same local network) https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/

TryArch reacted to MrLewisMHarris in Port forwarding will not work
Yeah there's definitely something blocking your network. turn things off one at a time to see what it is specifically, don't just try it all at once willy nilly, because if it persists you'll have to do it all again, and rather than identifying the problem you'll just make it longer and more frustrating.

TryArch got a reaction from MrLewisMHarris in Port forwarding will not work
we have tried using hamachi before but the program is hopeless, it adds so much connection lag it becomes impossible to play, as for the double NAT'ing, im not sure if that is a problem in my friends case but the ip only changes when u restart your router, which while testing we didn't do i have tried to fix the issue in person and through teamviewer and neither have worked successfully

Australia is a little arse about with it's politics, the liberal party are right wing and the labor party are left wind conservative. Uni students In Aust tend to have a left leaning green persuasion (I think it's throwback of the current ideological hipster movement) while upper income and small business tend to be more liberal/right wing in their persuasion.

careful your political persuasion is showing.
Labour aren't saints and liberal aren't the devil. An example is that general disability support received more funding under the Howard government than the previous labour and in the following labour government aid funding and DSP funding was cut almost to the bone. In the history of politics (contrary to popular belief) neither side of politics has reduced funding to public schools or health. The taxes you talk about and the resources tax were heavily flawed, No country in the world has taxed it's way out of trouble, and no intelligent person starts taxing the only industry that keeps the countries GDP in the positive.

God Damn it, why why why why why just why
I like that the government is trying to prevent attacks and such even though we aren't really under that much threat, however to do this so intrusively just makes me sad.
Now I understand that we can't go around completely invisible to the government in terms of the internet but I would appreciate it if the government actually listen to the public and not some conservative dick head who knows nothing about what he is saying. Labor and Liberal are both shit, neither of them can keep promises and neither of them are prepared for today's society, labor got close in a last ditch effort but how long was that really going to last, fuck both of them we need a new party.

Think of it not as the government, but as an independent body ensuring the security of you and other citizens
That is basically what it is.
Nobody gives a single shit about you watching "Teen with BIG BOOBS fucks TIGHT BLONDE", partly because there are millions of other 'mundane' people exactly like yourself, with mundane browser habits. They are only ever bothered about people actually doing something wrong. (like the British convicts that founded Australia) OOOHHH BURN
I guess it's just like Logan; the more you follow it, the more you think it's worse than it is and then you turn into a raging schizophrenic, and you can't talk about anything else.
