@Densetsu Just left it for if they return. Not intended to have an immediate response ;)

  1. true i always forget to ask that but i assumed since he mentioned threadripper and 1800x and coffelake he would be going for a really high end cpu
  2. again it is true that you might never need that much lanes or power but i do highly suggest stay away from X299 this year at least not just overheating but many other problems and issues arise (from own experince and others) i was going to upgrade myself to X299 But after all the reports and such i decided to not but still needing alot of power myself i decided to go with Threadripper and i will say i dont regret it at all but like i said earlyier wait a bit if you really can save some more money and come back to the topic after the newer stuff is out and all the older stuff is more optimised then re ask the question.
  3. yes considering and buying it but in all seriousness aswell you can also disable the maxq clocks on the gpus and run fans at full if you really wanted all the power but its not really needed these small thin laptops are not ment to be desktop replacments but more so as companions with less power but still enough to run all your games at 1080p at max still i personally dont like huge bulky laptops and i want one i can take with my to my bed / out and about and play some of my games but not require a huge bag and while at same time still have enough power to keep it around the same level as my desktop hench why il be going with asus Zephyrus
  4. i will say that wen it comes to things like teitch streaming amd this gen has proven that ryzen/tr do alot better at it while also gaming then there intel counterparts so i do recomend amd wether or not you go with TR is more so dependent on do you need that much extra power and cores ??? personlly i went with TR cause of what it is and what you can do with it aswell as its pcie lanes are nice :3 and it works really well for me benchmarks put it way ahead of my older 7700k so thats my two cents tho agreed if you can just wait it out and see what happends not only does that give you more options but also lets TR and ryzen bug fix there new platform making it all more stable
  5. agreed avoid x299 there are alot of reports of overheating and more when it comes to that i just upgraded to a x399 1950x with 1080ti myself and wow ! seriously this generation go with threadripper especially with what you said you wanna do the threadripper will dominate intels cpu in all tasks besides gaming (witch makes it equivalent to a 1800x but stil amazing)
  6. i might not be trading it just have to see if i can saveup the last little bit before i get the laptop im hopeing to keep threadripper tho i still dont know if i will use it yet or not
  7. not rich just saved up / will be getting rif of my threadripper for at lease a quater to half the price
  8. id prefer to have both actually desktop for home use and mostly gaming and a laptop for some gaming aswell as watching youtube and prime vedio in bed or somewhere els
  9. same with the asus Zephyrus laptop verry thin and under 5 pounds with either a 1070 or 1080 in it
  10. i think they are amazing and a huge step up from previous laptop gpu's... well also running cooler and more efficient then older ones on other laptops. not only that but pascal has allowed laptop makers to make amazingly thin laptops close to even a macbook but with a huge amount of horsepower! while not sacrificing much in the way of performance.. and still running within resonable temps. Witch is something that could never have been done till now in this manner!! Go Pascal!!
