People have said the same "cinematic effect" about black bars and low framerates. At what point is that just an excuse because movies do it
Yeah but I guess it's a bit like CRTs, film grain was a issue on film and old TVs. Maybe it appeals to that demographic.
It's always the first setting I turn off when I boot into a new game, i absolutely hate it and it makes everything look muddy. Does anyone even like this? and why? Haha.
You're right, but since I plan on building a new rig 2-3 years down the road it's not worth the investment. I'm pretty happy though, i got a stable 4.5 OC running now
Thanks for the assistance by the way.
Actually I kinda just figured it out, watched a video or two and tinkered for a good hour. Got it running 4.4 at 1.100V max 74C, going to try and push it a bit father if possible.
hmm. I just worry, since the thermal paste I'm using has a 200 hour "break-in" time, that's why I'd prefer to have it correct.
but it you think it's fine i'll leave it
I'm more worried about the thermal paste I used. I certainly know not to use too much, but I feel like I may have undershot. I went for more/less a grain of rice size, maybe slightly less.
I am aware about the thermal throttle temp limit, but is my temperature normal compared to what it's suppose to be? Just curious on if I applied the thermal paste properly. I am looking for the max OC i can get
Hey all!
My CM 212 Evo was getting really dirty recently so I decided to clean it and reapply the thermal paste. (Artic Silver 5 TP by the way)
After everthing was finished I OC'd i7 4790k to 4.2 GHZ and ran cinebench. It hit a peak temp under max load of 73c.
Is this normal? I'm not certain if I may have applied the thermal paste correctly, as i've heard people getting 4.4 and even 4.6 with the same cooler and CPU.
