I think that LTT has handled this with grace and care. Good on them. The one outstanding thing is the madison issue but I think it's ongoing investigation, so that'll need to play out

I guess it depends when you wake up. 3AM is definitely getting towards bed but as someone who works weird hours, you can totally make sleeping from 5AM-2PM work

Curious to see how this whole situation will resolve, I hope that it really becomes a turning point for the company, both in the video production aspect and in the human aspect.

    - Less filler videos that push to extremes the writers, editors and everyone involved, while also giving more time to focus on the videos that actually gets through, which would result in less mistakes in graphs and data, and could give some more time to each step in the creation of the video. In simple terms: quality over quantity, while keeping the same entertainment value

    - Less stress for the everyone, from Linus himself, who could probaly dedicate more time to his family, to the newest editors on probation and so on...

It's clear that as things were until now it was impossible not to have hiccups, some small like some wrong numbers on the data of a GPU results, some bigger like the Billet Labs situation. Hopefully the company will move on with a better future now that it has seen what a backlash can happen in such short time.

The Madison situation looks like something that should be taken care of through legal actions, and the statement released seems to point to an improvement on that side of the management. Wether any accusations are true or false, if an investigation takes place and the result is an improvement in work conditions, that creates a safer space for everyone, it will all be for the better.

I don't care about the small jokes that fell flat in the apology video, nor it being delayed, what counts is the steps that will actually go through after today. As stated before, let's hope it's a wake up call for the company and that it will lead to brighter future, both for the content quality and in the management.

Eh I think you have to have some sort of dress code, but in general as long as your chest and genitals are covered and there's not some other obvious problem (extremist ideology, call to violence, drugs) there should generally be a live and let live attitude.

I don’t disagree, though I think giving it some time to work itself out and talking to Billet and other affected people first would be good. Per GN criticism about production speed, maybe give it a week to cool off, and talk about it on the 25th.

Retweet. I think neither party has acted perfectly, but I very much hope that both take their failings in stride and do better in the future

That's a legitimate criticism but ultimately Linus is far from the only thing influencing people's opinion of Noctua, or any company with a significant presence in the PC space - I'd bet that most people who are buying Noctua products for personal use are on the enthusiast end and I'd put a significant amount of money on the postulate that most of such people get their tech information from more than just LMG channels. Hell, they might even watch Gamers Nexus! What a thought.

Well no, because every reviewer is entitled to have their own personal preferences. I think it would be naive to expect every single reviewer of anything, not just tech, to be 100% impartial to every product.

As viewers, we just have to trust that that doesn't lead to any misrepresentation. And in Noctua's case, that would also require fudging lab results, falsely editing scripts etc. It would have to be an institutional fraud that is just unfeasible.

It's not really a satisfying answer, unfortunately just leading to another Trust Me Bro. I guess I do trust them.

They've been publically blamed. That's why there's a 65 page thread about it. To me, it reads more like a paperwork fuckup than an intentional decision so I think a large organization let something slip through the cracks. The fact that Linus has already agreed to compensate Billet indicates to me that he's making the issue right insofar as he and co. can. Beyond that, I think linus will (reasonably) choose to let this play out independently. if he wanted to go on the offensive, there's PLENTY to criticise about Gamers Nexus, and if he makes an attack on them I would be genuinely surprised and question the advice he's receiving

It is a conflict of interest, I'm not denying that. But at the end of the day, it's not like Gamers Nexus doesn't have conflicts of interests either (as does everyone in the tech space) because of the way sponsors operate. GN has worked with ASUS on multiple occasions, so there is an incentive to be less critical of their products - not necessarily saying that they've actually done that, just that the incentive is there. The whole system of sponsorship makes it a fact of life in the space
