  1. Boot into a live linux os. If the issue goes away, it's windows.
  2. Did you check your CPU temps ? It could be throttling. HWInfo maybe ??
  3. It was a BIOS issue. I was on a 2021 issue. It's the fTPM stutter which I didn't encounter since I win 11 wasn't supported on my Ryzen 3 1200. Thanks a lot for pointing this out and @XYZ8858 too
  4. Hi. I've been having some issues for some time now. There are stutters. Not only during playing games, it happens randomly. I'm finding it hard to explain. It happens even while I'm watching YouTube on 1080p. EVERYTHING stutters for a solid second or two. The cursor stutters, the audio stutters, the video stutters everything stutters. First I thought it might be bad drivers so I tried different drivers, didn't work. I was so frustrated with this, I switched to linux and the same thing continued there too. I came back to Windows due to Adobe. It happens at random times and the PC is not even under stress. It happened while watching youtube, playing Max Payne, a game from 2001 and even Hogwarts legacy. I can rule out the GPU because it started only after I upgraded my CPU and RAM. I was on the same GPU for before and had no such issues. The CPU or RAM might be the culprit but how do I go about testing these ? What are my options ? Does having a secondary HDD connected cause this ? It didn't before tho. Any help would be appreciated. 5. A RPi 4 should be able to do this. For some more information : I haven't used plex but I use jellyfin. I should really look for video encoding on the Raspberry Pi. I host my jellyfin server on a Laptop. The iGPU on this device can encode video using Intel QSV upto 2048x2048. I use it to stream movies at 1080p at pretty high bitrates. ffmpeg fails to encode video over 2048 so I'm out of luck when trying to stream a 4K movie. I've turned off Video encoding on host since I watch a lot of 4K video and just send the video as a data stream for the reciever to decode. .-/+oossssoo+/-. lxlit@server `:+ssssssssssssssssss+:` ------------ -+ssssssssssssssssssyyssss+- OS: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS x86_64 .ossssssssssssssssssdMMMNysssso. 6. You can find resource monitor by searching in start menu. It's like a bit more in depth task manager. As for safe mode, do this : Restart the computer. At the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down and then click Power > Restart. After the computer restarts to the Choose an Option screen, sselect Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  7. Use resource monitor to see if you missed some program using up resources. Or just boot into safe mode and check the stats. If it's normal in safe mode then it's obviously a program that you have to weed out.
  8. This really seems like the best possible option since I already have the laptop stripped down to the bare minimum. Also the idea to turn on the DC-DC converter using the signal from the 5V signal is just icing on the cake. Thanks a lot.
  9. This might be something I will look into. Can it fry the USB port or controller tho ?
  10. Thanks for the confirmation ! I don't want to use any USB solutions for multiple reasons. Also, I want to DIY this one Thanks ! Nice. Thanks. I want to make this one myself. I like making stuff like this and I most probably have all the stuff I will need to make this one. Thanks a lot everyone for the confirmation. I'll make my server and post it here ! Thanks again !
  11. This is just something I've been thinking about. Just a small DIY project I want to do. Nothing serious. I will try to keep this short. I'm making a server out of my old laptop. The HDD in the laptop is failing. I want to use one of my desktop hard drive. The full 3.5" HDD obviously requires a 12V + 5V power supply. I want to keep it a really low powered build so adding a complete desktop power supply seems like a step in the opposite direction. I don't want to use SATA to USB since the HDD will hold all the data and will be the boot drive too. So here's what I have thought about just out of curiosity. I have a lot of DC 12V adapters from old routers and stuff. Can't I just use a 12V to 5V step down converter for the 5V wire ? I made this crude sketch in paint to show what I'm trying to do. I *think* this should "theoretically" work. What kind of challenges or problems you guys think I will face ? I'll be making the stepdown converter myself so the current shouldn't be a problem (i wish). I'm not really good at electronics anyway. My brother is but he won't be home for a few days. Thanks ~!
  12. I'd say going from VGA to a better monitor maybe worth it ? You pretty much got everything you need.
  13. I'm looking into AMD gpus right now. I recently started exploring KVMs and I was successful in making a few Windows VMs with Dual and Single NVIDIA GPUs. I wanted to do a Mac OS one. He replied tho, he said he doesn't know much about GPUs and he'd sell it to me for around 25$. I didn't go through with the deal mainly because the 6770 can only run upto 10.13 which i've already tried on my GTX 1050.
  14. Thanks everyone ! He bailed out while I asked him for a Furmark video lol.
  15. Hey so I'm looking for an old AMD GPU for kvm and found a listing for Sapphire R7 250X. This is the image he posted on the listing. I am confused here. The sticker below Radeon is peeled off and I couldn't find a similar looking card when I googled Sapphire R7 250X 1GB ? It's a 4 hour drive so I just wanted some input here before I go out checking this GPU. Thanks !
  16. Your Master boot record is botched. It either happened randomly or your windows installation was not completed properly. Here what you should do : Disconnect all the drives except the windows one. Plug in your windows installation usb and boot into the installation media. Choose repair your computer. Choose troubleshoot. Choose comand prompt. Enter these commands. bootrec /FixMbr bootrec /FixBoot bootrec /ScanOs bootrec /RebuildBcd Close everything and try to boot again. It should work. If this doesn't work, you can just reinstall windows to fix it.
  17. You are using swift key. The keyboard settings will be in swift key's settings not in the system's.
  18. I can't make out much from the images itself but in the first image, it's a regular RGB connector from a controller to the strip. The controller requires 12v which is sometimes taken from molex if your mobo doesnt have a rgb controller builtin. So it's pretty much a regular rgb strip connected to a controller that's powered through a molex.
  19. Have you tried searching for edl points on the motherboard ?
  20. The other one is not the official website. If they have some other roms which is not on the official website, its most probably a community port release. That being, you can just find the exact same ROM on XDA with way more information and a few reviews wether there are any bugs or anything.
  21. Yeah it's cool. Happy holidays. I was just having some fun
  22. So I was watching the YouTube Algorithm and Future of LTT video on LMG Clips and the description link to the full video is to a full blown honey ad. Why ?
  23. Anything based on the AOSP will be good. Also there are very few official port for Vivo's V series. But there are plenty of unofficial ports you can find on the XDA forums.
  24. Dude. Check your power input. Look around the power brick. Check the power output of the brick. It's usually around 5V and a few amps. Then download the Ampere app and check the input current. If it's very low, like 500 miliamps then i'm pretty sure it's your port that's dead. Get it changed.
  25. It's actually better to have the controls in the notifications tab. Being in the notifications tab make it possible to change the track without going to the homescreen. Although they shouldn't have removed the widget feature. It was not it they were conflicting in any way.
