  1. OK so I just got a RX 480 8GB, and I noticed you could use AMD eyefinity in profiles for your games. Thats cool i thought so i set it up for all my racing games ( Need For Speed MW, Dirt 3/4) and it worked beautifully for the first 3 weeks, then i go to play those games today and it doesn't work.. it activates for the middle monitor, but not for the 2 side monitors. those don't change. so then the game looks awful squished into the middle screen what should be spread out across all 3. I have one running off a display port adapter, the other off HDMI and the last one off HDMI... oddly enough the left one displays static while playing these games if you turn it off an on, and the right one just sits on the desktop.... i really dont know what is going on as it worked fine for 2-3 weeks, then didn't work today. I updated my drivers, and that didn't change anything, so i updated to 'optimal' and still no change. Used DDU and still no change. WHAT IS WRONG?! any help would be much appreciated, as i'm about at my wits end. (also note: the card still works fine when gaming without EYEFINITY on)
  2. Sorry for trying to help, and for his uses, most of those will work fine.... I was trying to find one he wouldn't have to spend buckets of money on.
  3. Please note: i wrote a description UNDER each link, sorry if that is confusing. https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-5000-5577-GamingLaptop/dp/B06XFG7157/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533182535&sr=1-4&keywords=gtx+1050+laptop this one is pretty good for gaming and editing..... it has a for the price of $666 dollars (lol) its a steal. MSI version https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GL62M-7RD-1407-Performance-SteelSeries/dp/B072QT88DG/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533182535&sr=1-3&keywords=gtx+1050+laptop this one is slightly cheaper, and has a pretty good ssd which should help with boot times and editing https://www.amazon.com/HP-Blizzard-i7-7700-GeForce-Graphic/dp/B07BPD913X/ref=sr_1_12?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533182535&sr=1-12&keywords=gtx+1050+laptop this one is the most expesive so far, but has the best CPU (I7-7700 HQ) ans best RAM (12GB) fit has the same GTX 1050TI so graphics performance will be about the same as the others.... https://www.amazon.com/FX503VM-Powerful-i5-7300HQ-Quad-Core-Processor/dp/B07CK1Q71Z/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533182951&sr=1-3&keywords=gtx+1060+laptop this one is the best performing, at $889, its at the top of the budget. But it is money well spent. With a GTX 1060 3GB, a 256GB SSD, and a 1TB hardrive, things should feel quite speedy, but the CPU, is only a i5, so that may impact video editing performance https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-15-7577-Laptop/dp/B077H3889J/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533183112&sr=1-7&keywords=gtx+1060+laptop This one steps things up Graphically, with a GTX 1060 6GB, but for a price: $918 to be exact... it will be miles ahead of the others Graphics performance wise.... Ok now on to the THIN laptops. https://www.amazon.com/VivoBook-Lightweight-WideView-i5-8250U-Fingerprint/dp/B0795W86N3/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533183438&sr=1-3&keywords=thin+laptops this one is a pretty good deal, but it lacks a dedicated GPU, so Performance may be much slower on certain tasks. https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-A12-9720P-Quad-Core-Bluetooth-802-11ac/dp/B075RTR8W5/ref=sr_1_13?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533183438&sr=1-13&keywords=thin+laptops this one is a cheaper option, that is very portable, if a little dated, but it still has a Quad core CPU, and pretty decent AMD graphics. https://www.amazon.com/Dell-TouchScreen-Performance-Business-Keyboard/dp/B07DF9KKRD/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533183576&sr=1-3&keywords=amd+vega+laptop this combines the best of both worlds, with reliable performance, and Graphics that are neither horrible, or good... for the price it should get you through everything at fast pace. https://www.amazon.com/HP-TOUCH-SCREEN-SILVER-15M-BQ121DX/dp/B0784VZZZM/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533183576&sr=1-9&keywords=amd+vega+laptop slightly worse Graphics, but a more premium look. https://www.amazon.com/F505ZA-DB31-VivoBook-Processor-Graphics-802-11ac/dp/B07CY2LWPT/ref=sr_1_19?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533183576&sr=1-19&keywords=amd+vega+laptop im not sure i can recommend this one, but its cheap, and light, and OK performing, so here it is. Now onto the CHEEAAAAPPP laptops. https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Latitude-469-3884-Ultrabook-Professional/dp/B00B0ROLH0/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533183866&sr=1-4&keywords=dell+latitude+6430u although used, this old beast, still chews through coding, and is OK at video editing, get this if you are tight on money. https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Performance-A12-9720P-processor-Bluetooth/dp/B0748YG81P/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533183939&sr=1-4&keywords=laptop another older, but still very much functional laptop https://www.amazon.com/HP-15-6-inch-Touchscreen-Quad-Core-Processor/dp/B079TGKLNR/ref=sr_1_12?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533183939&sr=1-12&keywords=laptop Built specially for school, this laptop come with a backpack and a mouse, performance is mid-tier at best though. Anyway, hope that helps, -Happy. (honestly if you dont mind used, old business laptops like the Latitude 6430U i included above are great for school, i use one every day, and have not had any problems yet!)
  4. its most likely dead. i tried everything...trying some last ditch efforts, but im not very optimistic.
  5. the box is somewhere in my attic. so you were correct. if trying it outside the case doesnt work, finding the manual is sorta like my last resort. i really dont want to rummage around in my 130 degree attic lol
  6. I have a MSI - A68HM-E33 V2 Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard, with a Athlon X4 860k. and after transferring to a new case, whenever I try to boot I get a small 99 in the right hand corner. it doesn't go past this. is the board dead? I have tried everything I could think of,I unplugged everything, took out the memory and swapped it , swapped out the GPU, and still nothing.... I tried plugging in a PS2 keyboard, and still nothing happened.. any ideas? I really don't want to have to buy another board.
  7. I was wondering how much of a FPS difference I would see between these cards. Would it be very noticeable?
  8. probably a combo of both, I might try it with a slightly better psu to see if that is the case........
  9. I got the newest drivers (the newest on the amd site at least) so yeah it might just be old...
  10. maybe but I've use to use a 450 watt one and it worked fine.... Maybe 50 watts is all the difference??
  11. So I recently put my old radeon 6870 in a PC to see if it would work, and it does, as long at you don't game. Which is kinda the reason I put it in the PC in the first place... I've tried it with multiple systems, and it still black screens/artifacts/ crashes about 5 minutes into most games.... I checked the temperature and figured it wasn't that (it stays under 80c, it is mostly at 60-70 on load, and 40 when idle). I turned the fan speed up to 100 to see if it would help, and it does as long as it isn't that intensive of a game... Is the gpu just burned out? What's wrong? My specs (on the machine I'm testing it with-not my main PC) cpu-i7 920 mother board- OEM gateway lga 1366 Ram-8gb ddr3 1100mhz psu- evga 400 watt gpu- HIS radeon 6870 1.2 GB
  12. I'm wondering if it is any worse because I have looked on Newegg and it is only $75 with rebate and all the others are $130! Should I buy it or wait for Black Friday?
