  1. Good Afternoon! As the title says I am trying to get wifi into my detached metal garage. I have a Netgear mesh range extender on the side of the house where the garage is for other reasons, and can I get a wifi single outside the garage but for obvious reasons it wont get into the garage. I have an outdoor external antenna but I cant seem to find a mesh extender that has a detachable antenna that I can replace with the outdoor one. Can anybody recommend one or have another solution? I thought about a power-line adapter but the garage and house are on separate circuits from the meter.
  2. Does anybody have any experience with Micro$oft Surface Pro 3s? So here's the situation, after a recent update my computer was really slow, touch screen was glitchy and type cover would stop working off and on. And I had an odd blue ring around the screen whenever I watched a video in full screen. I figured the update did it so I was going to just slick it back to factory and go from there. I used the utility to create a recovery drive and let it do its thing. It got as far as formatting the hard drive then errored out. Now every time I power it on it goes into the firmware settings, the only way to get it to power off is to reset it with the recovery thumb drive in the USB slot and using the power down button in the setup. Also every time I try and reinstall using the recovery drive it errors out. Thankfully I backed up all of my important stuff first. Its a brand new 16gb thumb drive I picked up just for this purpose so I doubt that's the problem but it could be. Unfortunately I am on deployment currently and away from my main PC so I cant really download anything. I dont want to spend $600 to send it in for out of warranty repair, even if I could afford that I'd spend it on a better computer. Any advice?
  3. Not in a couple of years but it was a good experience. Only issue I had was a HDD that was DOA but they replaced it quickly and painlessly.
  4. Figured as much, skunked again. Ohh well, somebody has to loose and I guess that's me again.
  5. YAY Another contest to lose and increase my you tube subscriptions! LOL
  6. Join me my brothers and sisters in mourning the loss of my primary PC. It was on the way out and finally bit the big bazooka. I think the processor and/or mb died, it wont boot at all, it gets so far then turns off. It had been having issues for a while now and I did some troubleshooting to narrow it down but now she gone. I was hoping to win the ROG build but that wasn't in the cards and the wifey is not on board with fixing it right now. Ohh well, such is life. I am reduced to my Surface Pro 3 on my desk! LOL One day maybe, we'll see.
  7. You have to log on to the router and change the name in the wifi settings to diferentiate the connections then connect to it.
  8. Reason I asked is if you are a ways away from the modem you may need to connect to the 2.4ghz channel instead of the 5.0.
  9. Are you on WiFi or hardwired to the modem? What do your speed tests say? I was having a similar issue and had Xfinity come out to the house but it turned out that my WiFi adapter had kicked the bucket.
  10. Do you absolutely need the 1080 or would a 1070 do? That would probably drop you in the range you're looking for right there.
  11. I could have used my wife's off the shelf HP from Office Max but decided to be honest. Heck she's trying to get me to just replace my PC with one like hers!
  12. Right! Even in just the last couple of days, mine was posted on page 39! LOL
  13. I think your definition of "subjective" needs some review. What's crappy to one person may not be crappy to another. As an example, some of the rigs posted here, they may be crappy from a modern gaming standpoint but if your into retro gaming they could be awesome.
  14. Pretty much. Mine is not crappy from a specs stand point but its crappy in that if I stress it too much it crashes.
