  1. There are some fairly large online communities supporting gamers with disabilities. I'm not disabled myself, so perhaps one of these organizations would be able to assist. AbleGamers is an amazing charity & support organization giving access to physically imparted gamers. /r/DisabledGamers may be able to help with any specific questions you or your gamer has. CanIPlayThat.com give some information on specific games they are looking to play.
  2. Say what you want about Microsoft, no other large company that is as invested in accessible gaming as Microsoft is.
  3. I'm assuming this is in reference to some indication light? What motherboard, what RAM? Did the issue start after you enabled EXPO or when you installed the AIO? The topic isn't clear.
  4. You will typically see timing written as something like "16-18-18-35". If you care about what those numbers mean, this article by Crucial is a really good write up. It's best practice to match the timings from DIMM to DIMM, but not strictly necessary. If all this is confusing it may be wise to simply purchase the same DIMM that's currently installed. Simply look up the part number on eBay and I can almost guarantee you someone is selling one.
  5. According to this documentation from HP, the fastest memory supported would be 2666Mhz. The system may not have RAM OC settings. That said, DDR4 2666Mhz vs 3200Mhz RAM is generally the same price was (or was last time I checked) and purchasing higher clocked DIMMs won't necessarily hurt anything. If the board doesn't have the capability of running at 3200Mhz, it will simply run at stock 2666Mhz. What is the current configuration? 1x8GB? If so, it may be wise to simply purchase an additional 8GB @ 2666Mhz module and save some money. Just make sure to match timings.
  6. This is correct. GOG is known as the DRM-free platform.
  7. How did I never know GOG was owned by CD Projekt. I guess you learn something new everyday.
  8. Yo, I'm about to squat and roll coal on my Threadripper Power Stroke.
  9. What happens after it freezes? Restarts? BSOD? Gets unstuck? Anything showing in event viewer? Have you done a memtest?
  10. Agree. The only reasonable monitor you are finding in 4:3 are going to be old used stock, and then you aren't going to be getting the additional specifications. I'm really confused about the use case here. Is there any reason you can't use more traditional 16:9 display with those needed specifications and pillarbox down to 4:3?
  11. Thanks eBay, I'll get right on that.

Let me just check HELOC rates really quick...

  12. Intel Core™ Ultra 5 processor 135H really does it for you, huh?
  13. You simply aren't going to get what your are looking for at the price point you are looking at. Noise cancelling is simply not an option cheaply. I would adjust expectations. Aim for decent sounding, closed back, wired headphones.
  14. Ah gotcha. From what I've read, disabling PROCHOT doesn't actually disable all thermal monitoring, just certain ones. Also, disabling it briefly will at least be able to tell you if that's your problem or not. If you disable it and you are still locked to 400Mhz, you know PROCHOT isn't your issue.
  15. A simple troubleshooting step would be to download something like Throttlestop and disable PROCHOT. See if that fixes the issue, and if it does you know you have something throwing bad info. I've seen this on my X270 when using a third party battery. I have to disable PROCHOT to be able to use the PC properly.
  16. Pinging different nodes, in different locations, from different services results in different timings, yes. I'm not seeing the issue here.
  17. Did the PC power off during the update process? It may be the OS was corrupted because of that, but honestly that shouldn't have affected the boot loader. Assuming that everything looks okay in BIOS I would start by booting to Windows installation media and attempting a repair on the drive.
  18. In addition to what everyone has already said, there are typically two different settings in games: Draw Distance - this setting is whether or not something is shown. Lower draw distance, objects further away won't be visible. In older (or poor quality games) this may objects to "pop-in". In modern games this is typically handled by "fog" where objects will appear from and fade away as distance changes. Level of Detail - what we are discussing here. The texture resolution, poly-count, anti-aliasing, and/or animations of those far away objects.
  19. This shouldn't be necessary. It's shitty anti-consumer business practice to hide your pricing behind signups. Also did you go to that page that's being returned in Bing? The pricing info isn't listed there at all. I'm assuming that Bing is using a cached version, meaning that they previously published the cost on the FAQ, but intentionally decided to remove it. This isn't an oversight. It's purposefully done to harvest your data before you have an opportunity to make a decision if the piece is palatable. It's gross.
  20. There's two paths: The motherboard will already have a revision on it that allows your CPU to function and no action needs to be taken. (other than traditionally updating you BIOS if you wish) Your CPU will not function in the motherboard due to the motherboard not recognizing the newer chip. You will need an older generation chip to update the BIOS. This isn't really optional. Either borrow one from a friend, or take it to a computer shop and ask them to update the BIOS for you.
  21. Disable all extensions, especially those that alter cookies and the DOM. (uBlock, Privacy Badger, etc.)
  22. Because Best Buy is in the business of selling items at a high margin to unsuspecting people. Honestly, this looks like a mistake if I had to make a guess. Can you post a link of where this is from?
