  1. So I bought a used RX 580 4gb for 110 thinking it was a good deal, but now I’m starting to think it wasn’t. I was playing CSGO about a week ago when I heard a clunk in my case, but I shrugged it off thinking a cable just skimmed a fan (my case has horrible cable management). It was only when I checked today because I wanted to see how the dust buildup was on my cpu cooler. How can I reattach the fan safely? Thanks
  2. Well, usually the mobo/chipset will also add a couple of lanes. If you want more lanes, go for a higher end mobo, like a z270, rather than a b250.
  3. I'm planning to buy the 212 Evo because it comes with its own backplate and my motherboard didn't come with one (bought it used) so I thought this would be a good solution. My problem is with clearance. Specs on websites say the 212 evo is 159mm and the case has a max cooler height of 150mm, but people have said that it fits. I need assurance just to clear my conscience.
  4. So I bought an MSI mobo second hand a couple months ago and I finally bought a Ryzen 2600 cpu and 16gb, and as I was preparing to remove my old components, I realized the mobo didn't come with a bracket/backplate thing. I remembered vaguely about where the seller was saying he couldn't find it. I really don't wanna wait a month for an eBay order to come through. What do I do?
  5. So i’m gradually saving up money for parts and knowing that the price of parts often fluctuate, i have a question Should i buy my cpu or my ram first? i have an x370 mobo and im planning to pair it with a ryzen 5 1600 and 16gbs, but at the rate im saving money the prices might change drastically.
  6. if i go for 4.2 with 1600mhz the computer reboots itself back down to 3.8 and 1333. oh also im running 2 kingston sticks w heatspreaders and 2 two samsung sticks w/o a heatspreader, in dual channel.
  7. So, i’ve been tinkering around with my overclocking settings and ive basically finished with two options. Should I run at 4.2 ghz with 1333mhz memory or 4.1 ghz with 1600mhz? My build is an x4 760k, with 16 gigs of ddr3.
  8. The seller also has a second post of an MSI dual fan card for $250 cad, what about that? https://www.kijiji.ca/v-computer-components/edmonton/geforce-gtx-1060-oc-v1-edition-6gb-pci-e-w-hdmi-dvi-displaypo/1379434801
  9. So, I found this seller on Kijiji who's willing to sell an Asus Turbo gtx 1060 for $180. He says it's been in a mining rig since September of 2016. Is it worth it? https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1379432869
  10. Then I would personally go for the 2700x. Its gonna have a couple fewer frames than the 8700k in gaming but it should be better in workstation. If just gaming, 8700k. If all around, get the 2700x.
  11. Well first off what are you planning to do with your build? A workstation or a gaming rig?
  12. So my current build is an an Athlon X4 760k paired with an r9 270x and 16gb of ddr3. There was a sale on a msi gaming plus x370 motherboard and on impulse i bought it, and now i can’t decide on what will be a good match. Ill be doing mostly gaming with a chance at streaming. Im thinking about the 1600x or 2600x (i live close to a MemX so i think ill be able to ask them to update my bios).
