SP120 QE's aren't that quiet and only make sense on dense rads. On an air cooler, SW3's will perform better and be quieter.
What about dat color coordination

I am torn between caorsair air series sp120 quiet edition and silent wings 3 pwm. They are both about the same price.
Pros-sp120
quiet
removable ring changing to red for black/red setup
Cool
pros-silent wings 3
Quietest fan ever(probably)
cool
yeah
the bad thing about sw3 is it doesn't have a removable ring. I will be using p400s tg black/red with air cooler so just need airflow.

Before you go and buy a x299 board, why don't you buy a z370 board with an i5-8600k? The 8600k outperforms a 7700k and is a good overclocker according to some tests. Also it's 40$ cheaper on pcpartpicker.
ill look into that

i literally just apologized for my mistake of getting the cache size wrong - sorry dude
It is fine
I HAVE THOSE DAYS TOO

seems cache size is the same, i read somewhere the mainstream had 6mb rather than 8mb, my bad for not checking on ark before posting , sorry guys
it has 8mb

what cpu is better for OCing

I'm pretty sure the cache sizes are exactly the same.
L1 Cache
4 x 32KB Instruction
4 x 32KB DataL2 Cache
4 x 256KB
L3 Cache
1 x 8MB
That is what I was thinking as well on the man. site and pc part picker after lining them up perfectly and constantly switching between the two.

7700k is for Z270 boards and has iGPU.
7740X is for X299 boards and lacks iGPU.
Dont need a iGPU

Since the 7740x requires x299, you'll end up spending more on a board. The cache sizes also differ. The 7740x is the better of the two but I'm not sure it justifies spending significantly more on x299.

socket makes a big diff as the mobos differs and in turn features
id hope that the enthusiast platform cpu would do better
what is the diff in cache size?
-
What is the difference between i7 7700k and 7740x
The only differences I see are socket, TDP and base clock speed.
7740x is also $5 cheaper on pcpartpicker.
Also is higher TDP better for overclocking?

I'm going to be building a new gaming PC-Thanks to Linus of course(and also Luke if you know what I mean)
I've narrowed it down to two options which are WD Black Or BarraCuda Pro
I know that WD Black is noisy from what I've read and came out in 2013
Barracuda Pro is also really slim and came out in 2016
I think the extra seven dollars is really worth it
No Hating!
BarraCuda Pro-https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KX7CmG/seagate-barracuda-pro-2tb-35-7200rpm-internal-hard-drive-st2000dm009
WD Black-https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XtjG3C/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd2003fzex
Does anyone know the warranties for these things?

Completely up to you. I'd do it not for the performance, but for the warranty.
As he said id go for it mainly for the warranty
-
Oh yeah forgot about that as well

Hi everyone!
I am going to be building a pc soon and I saw these two ssd's.
I was wondering if I should spend an extra 20 dollars for the pro because its 6 extra gb and from what I heard slightly faster. Hardware Canucks also uses them.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3kL7YJ/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz75e250bam this is the evo
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JMPfrH/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz7ke256bw this is the pro
I will be using this system for gaming and editing vids soon.
Pro also has 10 year warranty but evo has 5

Neither if you can help it. Razer's switches are bad, and that's not just compared to Cherry. Kaihua and Greetech can produce great switches as good as or better than Cherry under their own names but the switches they produce for Razer aren't nearly as good; the switch design itself is flawed.
The only reason to get a Razer keyboard is if you absolutely need Synapse support. If you're just after lighting modes you can use Aurora to port dynamic lighting across Razer, Cooler Master, Logitech, and Corsair mechanical keyboards.
I would strongly recommend that you try these switches out at a computer store (Frys, Best Buy, etc.) before buying; if you end up with a switch you don't like you'll be out quite a bit of money. In general for gaming any light to medium weight non-clicky switch will work fine, but what's best for you is going to be completely up to your own preferences.
Thank You

If you are going to do OCing you should probably get an X processor. It has more GHz and has higher TDP for better OCing. Just don't buy a CPU with a TDP of something crazy. Other than that I am no expert overclocker but I know that 1.4v+ is dangerous territory, my friend.
