Its because they are transient sensetive. 
 
You can run ampere on a 650w PSU, just make sure the PSU isnt transient sensetive. 

Except those write speeds really arent sustainable due to the TLC nand it uses. Instead of the MLC/DLC that the 970 pro uses. 
 
Might aswell go for cheaper Phison E16 drives if you need burst speeds. 

Thats related to the specific unit they were using. Ive confirmed this with Anthony. 
 
The Seasonic Prime they are using is fairly transiense sensetive, hence it tripping. Ampere is worse than Vega in terms of transiense it seems. 
Id look at a different PSU, given the history of seasonic focus units and transiense. Untill its confirmed to be fine, id look at something else.

If that's how you see it, there's no helping it. I try to find the good in everything I bench, so if being jaded and cynical is what's needed to be seen as impartial, then I guess we'll always be shills.

The 850W unit was a SeaSonic PRIME Platinum SSR-850PD. I can confirm that it was a coincidence that SeaSonic didn't sponsor the video - Sponsors don't work that way, and we didn't say anything to them either way (the unit is older-gen).
 
As for the rest of this thread, I don't know why anybody actually cares about 8K gaming, and it was only included because Nvidia marketed the card that way (similar to GamersNexus' focus on 8K gaming benchmarks because that's what Nvidia was yelling about). Our conclusion was that nobody outside of the niche enthusiast and maybe very complex 3D modeling space should even consider the card, so I'm not sure why people think we're trying to market the thing. You can look at something's strengths without crapping on it at every turn. That's all I have to say about it.

if i was to hypotethically recommend one, id point to the xbox series x using the subscription model to get it. yeah its 24 month binding time, but its one heck of a deal.

doesnt do anything, its just means they havent tested that kit for them to put it on the QVL. generally speaking QVL isnt that useful.

Compared to anything AMD has out out the last decade in terms of reference coolers it actually looks fine.

Doesnt touch on the most interesting part of the card. The rear of it. He said we havent seen the rear, but the render in fortnite does. 
And its got the Vega style mounting system indicative of HBM. 
 
Assuming there is no major design flaw with the cooler, ive got no gripes with it. 

as i said, ram is very specific to tasks. 
 
and cinebench is one that doesnt care a lot. 
 
also "for amd" is just regular memmory, id just get cheap rev E

they dont run tight timings all that easily. 
 
something B-die does well, meanwhile CJR and Rev E clock fairly well.
