  1. hey, so my friend is looking to build a pc dedicated to audio recording and editing. he has already bought the ryzen 5 1400x and 4gb x2 ram sticks and he was planning to buy the cheapest (asus a320) mobo he could but we talked about it and i remarked about the fact that some mobos have superior\ higher end integrated audio chips also that some mobos namely gigabyte's ones have like dc power thru usb that supposed to be "clean" aka have less of the electric noise that might affect signals which in audio ones would be interference or what not when outputting to an audio device or that r supposed to be better at supplying power to an external dac or something?.. my friend has mid-high end headphones with pretty high impedance and he has a cheap mic - with a three pronged connection (the name of which evades me atm...) so to sum up - considering pretty limited budget - where would it best be focused? at a better mobo? sound card? external amp? any &\or all? if all which should be focused first say? - also id appreciate for any mistakes or misconceptions of mine corrected and horizons expanded... p.s. sorry if this has a particular sub forum or something its just that i don't really knew which since it also seems quite mixed in theme etc p.p.s. for vga he has an old amd card of the 5000 series i think if its something that u might've been bothered by the absence of its mention in terms of a whole pc build~ core components
  2. title^ specifiacally im interested in clock speeds... what do u think, will they reach 4 (without oc?)?...
  3. Is it possible to carry a 144hz signal from a laptop with g
  4. so i occasionally hit the cast to tv button in the youtube app on my phone and it tries to cast it to the tv in my living room and im hella anoyed by that. how can i cancel that option from popping ap in the app or blocking the tv from being detected by the app or something?..
  5. yes, to be sure, accuracy is important... in fact, probably crucial is the term more appropriate... well, actually tbh, im not 'in' very much yet but i am getting in and this in a way is also to look at the horizon so to say... frankly advice overall is appreciated but i figure that most things will make themselves clear over time and these specific points\ issue is what i currently didnt manage to find much of an answer yet :\
  6. I'm looking for high detail high color fidelity content creation monitor(s). something UHD or maybe even UHD or 5k ultra wide for more work space. high bit rate ideally dolby vision? also im curius about evident lack of oled monitors... some info about that would be cool. obviusly if not oled then high contrast etc... im interested in info about such in general as well as info about purchase...
  7. ?? it says 230V (ATX 500W)
  8. it worked with a card (and also multiple additional drives from what i run today - maybe not significant but still noticiable...). maybe only a 750 with the pcie lanes direct draw but its not that much of a jump considering its only about 70 watt more at peak stress test or 4k from what ive seen something i wont do anyway since monitor 1080.
  9. Donno it worked great for years.
  10. btw thats the specific link/card and it seems to include an adpter. will it serve? https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-06G-P4-6161-KR/dp/B01IPVSGEC/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1505898767&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+1060&refinements=p_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A6066317011
  11. These r the specs... Seems to me should be enough power overall... No?..
  12. so the molex ones dont even supply enought power? could i reroute them by hand? i.e. cut them up and reconnect etc?... btw tnx for the info...
  13. So I wanna buy a gtx 1060 that has a 6pin power connection but my psu is old and I have only 2 flat 4pin connectors available. The card ships with a 1 8pin to 2 6pin power connectors adapter (the evga 1060 6gb) Will it work? If not what might? For clarification these r the cable I have... There r those 2 other attachments at the endings - the black one used to be connected to the optical drive...
  14. tldr: budget multi cpu board, multiple cpus (pref old xeons for effiecency per $ too), (ecc (maybe?)) ram and cooling and power at maximum effiecency per watt pref (relative to $) so... i like science and would like to contribute, maybe directly too if im up to it but for now i was really interested in using my computational resources to aid in all kinds of projects that might employ such a network and i so happened that ive found a project of such a nature - BOINC. so basically as said in tldr id like to build a personal small scale server if u will. ive seen that 150$ double xeon build with linus and i know my father has a single xeon adjusted for 775 socket by some chinese remanufaturing procces where they turn it 90 degrees and adjust some pads for compatability but thats just a trick point if anybodys interested in using same vid data not with a dual cpu\board. persoanly tho i think that such cpus being old r limited in ram if im not mistaken so something of modarate age would likely be prefered? also itd be nice if i could use it for gaming but i worry about having to run windows server maybe? or linux? and fear for drivers compitability - would i perhaps be better advised to use virtualisation and have a win10 in my virtual gaming dedicataed eviorment maybe? i guess im kinda rambling by that point somewhat but if any1 could help me sharpen my idea? and maybe add info perhaps about software compitability and/or optimization? p.s. first time posting and im not sure if thats the right place to post about that but pls do tell me so id know for future etc...
