  1. 0.1% and 1% lows improve greatly with a faster CPU (backed by decent storage and RAM to be fair) But CONTEXT - Depends on the Games played...of course. I went from a 4.8Ghz allcore 4790K 4C8T and a GTX1070 to a RTX2080Ti and it was horrible (Playable, but horrible) in many newer more modern games which had decent multi-threading in game...high usages for a 4C8T and when it spikes....it spikes, ruining smoothness, dropped frames etc... Didn't have this kind of trouble with a GTX1070 because I was usually at GPU bound settings... with my 2080Ti I was CPU bound a lot of the time, even at 1440p. Went to 10850K 10C 20T 5.1Ghz allcore, my % values all skyrocketed, I can feel how much smoother it is against the old system in the same games with the same 2080Ti.
  2. These CPU's are typically hotter on avg than their non3D counterparts... right? I remember all posts from most forums saying X3D chips are hotter than typical Ryzen non3D CPU's... idle/load temps. And as stated above, they are Boosty and with even minimal activity (Installing COD I see on your screen) it's going to up voltage at boost clocks and your temps will reflect that even with minimal usage. It's just a hotter than avg CPU due to the 3D stack on top of the die. Unless I'm mistaken.
  3. What is your goal? Different things for different people.....
  4. Set parameters or specifics you had in mind... $500 budget helps but its a open question, not enough information. What resolution/refresh rate targets do you want to hit? What games do you like to play? Do you have any specifics you think we should consider? HDMI,DP,VRAM needs etc.
  5. [4K] RYSE: Son of Rome (2013) THE MOVIE

Journey to the heart of the Roman Empire and experience the brutality of battle like never before as Ryse: Son of Rome comes to PC with support for glorious 4K resolution. Ryse: Son of Rome is an immersive action-adventure story of struggle, brutality and heroism. It follows a fearless Roman soldier named Marius Titus who joins the army to avenge the slaying of his family and emerges as a hero who must fight to save the Roman Empire.

Playing on PC with Mouse/Keyboard, Hard difficulty, leveraging the power of Crytek’s CRYENGINE Super-sampling 2x2 horizontal/vertical scaling 6K into my 2880x1620p frame. I have used the ReSHADE App to inject even more post processing effects, more so to my preference of darker dark's, brighter brights, these run in realtime on top of the graphics pipeline, captured and turned into a movie.

  6. Your hardware is fine (even at 100% load for hours and hours it should be stable, not crashing), your cooling needs to be looked at.
  7. It's just the nature of seeing new people post the same questions over and over... But plenty of sections can be fruitful, I come back every week to catch up on things maybe.. not as often as I did when I first arrived. Just the nature of things... each to their own of course.
  8. Nvidia will drop clocks when you hit 83*c now (their temp limits, separate from manufacturers fan tempreture curves) 83*c and Nvidia go hand in hand,..it's their temp limit of recent generations across multiple products. The blower style GPU's mostly sit at 83*c all day under load with reduced clockspeeds than AIB models. Just the nature of GPU boost that Nvidia use, with a few variables at play like Temps/Power/Fanspeed My 2080Ti uses 20-25% give or take watching 1440p YT
  9. It's got a higher TDP than 65watt CPU's so it fares pretty badly under the Intel stock cooler, but any modest cooling solution above the stock cooler will fit the bill typically...
  10. You have a 240mm watercooler on a Ryzen 3600 and you are at 90*c. That's way off base... Remount that cooler, repaste, and while ur there,. check the STICKER on your CPU cooler plate is actually removed. Then let us know how you go.
  11. Okay so my theory is that,..POWER Profiles in Windows, in advances settings can set a MIN/MAX CPU Frequency (at least I can, on Win10) And you can create a desktop shortcut for enabling Power Plans. So you'd set/edit the Balanced/Whatever CPU section to 5%-50% CPU and Performance Profiles to 100% Min/Max. https://www.groovypost.com/howto/create-power-plan-shortcut-windows/ I've not tested recently or on Win11 but this is how you can do it to find out for yourself.
  12. It's not a bios option it's part of how the GPU initializes itself based on it's own VBios rules. I've had a Nvidia GPU do this, while the same GPU from another maker didn't do it. (2 separate GTX1060) It's gotta be done via output ports of the GPU (as far as I can tell) So i don't want you to reset bios for no reason...but if you want to anyway... that's still up to you but I don't think it'll do anything.
  13. If your GPU has an alternative output port (HDMI / DP or vice versa) try the other one. Sometimes this can happen on certain configurations, while one goes blank for the boot sequence until windows, you can switch to the alternative for hopefully a different result. I've had to do this a couple times over the years. DP is blank, went to HDMI, and vice versa on another config.
  14. 2 Big Cyberpunk 2077 news items for RT Lovers

You can now use DLAA with Ray Reconstruction in Cyberpunk 2077 V2 0 via a mod

    Also..
You no longer need RT Overdrive to run Ray-Reco with this tweak..

  15. FYI I wouldn't worry about 5.0 vs 5.1 It's 2% after all. The IPC is similar and most of your games will still be dictated by your GPU abilities.
  16. I'm using that Board it's quite good, got my CPU/Cache/RAM all tuned up on that board. My 10th Gen 10Core can do 1.28v 5.0Ghz allcore, 1.33v 5.1 allcore and 1.375v 5.2Ghz Allcore (But AVX at long periods is too hot with this voltage for my cooling) So I've been using 5.1Ghz all core for about 2 years now. All CPU's vary, but if your cooling is up to the task, for 1.28-1.32v give or take depending on YOUR CPU, 5Ghz or 5.1Ghz allcore could be achieved. I've set mine so it won't declock on idle, but it doesn't pull barely any power when no load is running anyway. Gaming my temps don't break a sweat, and in Adobe Premiere with AVX instructions, it's also completely fine. If I was to use Blender rendering everyday I'd use 5Ghz voltage for those AVX long sessions. But for Gaming 5.1Ghz is fine. 5.2Ghz would be fine if I didnt have Australian Summer to deal with.
  17. 600p Never looks this good!!

Cyberpunk Pathtracing with Update 2.0 30-45fps…

I did CAP 40FPS, it'll go above on occasion, hardly worth mentioning when the lows are around 30-33
  19. Cyberpunk Pathtracing with Update 2.0

    30-45fps 2080Ti at 2160Mhz 1920x1080 DLSS B (1100x600p) 🙄 Cinematic AF 😂

    Sometimes looks great 😃 haha

Wouldn't recommend for actual gaming but still looks way better than I expected with just 600p.

  20. If you want the i7 do what you want but you'll be GPU bound with all Games on a GTX1650 and even with higher end GPUs you buy using that CPU. Look up GTX1650 reviews, or any GPU review from the same creator to compare GPUs you might look into. The i5 will do a similar job though.
  21. My Starfield Settings

  22. Using the default out of the box 125w spec it'll be fine. But if your motherboard unlocks power right away to 250watts without you setting it back to 125w then it will struggle under load... trying to force higher clocks and power without the 125w power In place. Be wary of what your motherboard does to power, and make sure its at 125watts and a 120mm AIO will suffice.
  23. Use a Non-Vsync FPS CAP (if you want of course, if not wanting Vsync), the buzzing at certain framerates sounds like coil whine, so potentially I would then lower the FPS AVG/MAX with FPS caps, not Vsync. Nvidia/AMD control panels have this feature, as does MSI Afterburner and various other software out there... to limit MAXFPS to something less coil whined. Quake1 Remaster at 1000fps as a test,.. makes my 2080Ti scream loud (coil whine) but when limited to 360fps, its gone completely.
  24. Until you install it and see you really are panicking over nothing...technically.
  25. Personally.... I would just backup EVERYTHING that's Yours from the phone... Then Proper RESET/CLEAR (Reinstall the OS) and see if it still happens on a new 'stock' Operating System. Rule out the old software installs/bugs at least. Sooner you start sooner its finished. But that's what I'd do anyway...
