specs: - Intel Xeon E5-2680 v2 - Asus P9X79 LE - Zotac Nvidia GTX 1070 - Samsung 1x16GB DDR3 ECC Ram - Micron 1TB SATA SDD (not connected) - Seagate Ironwolf 4TB SATA HDD (not connected) - Corsair CX750M 750w PSU - Hyper 212 EVO V2 Cooler I’m working on a cheap system with used components for a potential media server, and I have hooked them all up to make sure the components work before moving forward. When I short the power switch to turn on, this loop occurs indefinitely: the CPU LED turns on for half a second, CPU LED turns off, Memory LED turns on for half a second then off, then the CPU LED turns back on for half a second then turns off. Nothing happens for 3 seconds after that. During the light sequence, the fans spin up then back down when it ends. (See video). Based on what I have done, I think I have a bad motherboard rather than the CPU or RAM being the culprit, and consulting the manual was no help. Both the PSU and GPU have been validated to work in a different system. I already tried booting with no change to system behavior: - Just CPU - CPU + Ram - CPU + Ram in different slots - No Cooler - Different PSU - reseating cables Other troubleshooting I tried with no change to behavior: - Clearing CMOS - Updating Bios to known stable version Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance! VIDEO: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RyNt8NKIcJH34t-C4aXbTnSG4GmXCbgw/view?usp=drivesdk

Newbies needs help badly abt AMD cpu
Arshon Bozorgi replied to Skym's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Apperently Asus Motherboards have “Speed Step” Enabled by default, JayzTwoCents did a video on it. It apparently OCs your CPU by default. Here is the video:https://youtu.be/zi-zU2p2ykc -
See if your mobo has built in wifi and ditch the adapter and ditch 3 of the fans, and try to find a cheaper case and a better psu.

Unless if your trying to do LOTS of productivity(4k,8k video editing etc) then going with lower teir processsor could save you money, regarding the gpu’s, a single 1080ti can run 4k AAA games exeptionally (75hz+) so for 3 1440p 144hz monitors, id say 2 1080ti’s are enough.

Depending on the pc you have, the audio jack may not have a proper amp/the amp is broken, if you have a friend with an amp, ask to borrow it to trouble shoot

On the regard of fraudulent entries, i think that they should not win, although there are some people that will go to great lengths to get a new pc. But on that note, it is debateable wether laptop counts as a “crappy PC”
