  1. All joking aside this is a weird one. My wife's book 2 just randomly stopped accepting wifi. Did the random trouble shooting but the network status is just a weird line. I have never seen a status be a line and dots that are slightly pixelated. Tried a usb wifi dongle but that doesnt work either.
  2. So took it apart. Took everything out except motherboard. Still clicking and dying. Ok. Plug in the jumper. Cant really tell since this thing doesnt spin its fan when on. Plug in pump. Pump runs. Freak out its the motherboard. Plug in motherboard. Works. Plug in cpu power. Works. Currently plugging the rest in. What the hell
  3. Left the power unplugged for a day to make sure. Nope. Wont boot. Just a single click from the psu and a twitch on the fans/flash of the LEDS Disconnecting parts to see if anything is at fault. Ram, water pump and GPU power removal is doing nothing.
  4. PSU is a corsair HX1000i. Watercooling is dry. Checked the flow. Water is flowing since i first thought that it might be overheating shut down but temps are fine.
  5. So i just came back from my USA trip come home to my PC and nothing. Specs. 2700x Asus crosshair VII hero. 16 gigs of G.skill ddr4 The issue I am having is that now suddenly whenever I turn on the PC the case leds and fans twitch for a moment before shutting down. I cant even get to the bios screen. This PC has been working perfectly fine for almost a year. Sometimes it DOES post. Go through abit of it. Hard shut down again. Play this game several times until it just does instant shut downs. Sometimes it doesnt even do anything until i flip the psu switch. Sometimes I can into the bios and temps are fine and it doesnt crash in bios. Then sometimes it does get to the windows login screen. Work fine for a minute. Hard shut down. Hell sometimes it works. It was working perfectly fine for a day. No issues. Games worked. General use worked. Came back to it this morning and once again it is instant shut down. Things i have tried so far. Clear CMOS. Try using bios default settings. Get rid of any usb devices incase of it being some weird shorting out usb. Swear alot. https://imgur.com/gallery/eBe5pGO http://imgur.com/gallery/mS9SxX2 Just wondering if anything has any ideas before I start tearing down rhis entire thing.
  6. Man. What a way to end the night. Get perm banned on the discord instantly for posting a link in the off topic section to my wife's new valentine soap. Not a mute or a temp ban. Not a warning. Nope perm ban. Like jesus christ I didnt mean to do something bannable which is why i did it in off topic. I liked the discord but that plane is the strictest most harshly moderated discord i have ever seen in my entire life. Just sad that it ends like this. Not for trolling not for fighting not for mass spamming. But a link. But then again i got muted for 24 hours for posting too many images of my new rig in one post
  7. as you would expect of 50-70mbps. 50-70mbps download on steam and origin so 6 megabyte to 9. meanwhile the wife is sitting there downloading sims 4 at like 50 megabyte/sec
  8. Tested it out. Set to full duplex 1gbps. Same thing. one thing that is weirding me out is that the lan driver is saying "ethernet internet saucer" which is the name of my ubiquity wifi dish downstairs. it's not connected to wifi as the wifi adapter is turned off. Normally it would just say something like "ethernet Network" or something like that. never the name of another part of my network. especially not the name of my wifi dish. which is just weird. Inserted a crappy pain drawing up my network. As you can see this PC and it's switch never interconnect with The wifi dish so I have no idea why its calling its LAN network the same name as my Wifi AP
  9. I will have a try when i get home tomorrow but I am pretty sure that the setting(i looked )was set to gigabit duplex but who knows. Maybe i goofed. BUT most of the time my speed on speedtest STARTS at 200-300+ and then instantly crashes hard to 100 and then slowly drops to the 50-60 it maintains. I guess auto negotiate could maybe be the reason and that it freaks out and silently sets itself to 100mbps but even so wouldnt it be running at around 100mbps instead of the 50-60 I am getting Oh wait half duplex 100 is 50mbps right? Am I inderstanding that right?
  10. So I have been having this stupid issue for days now. my ISP has a 400mbps download line. This speed is ALWAYS at that level. 380-400. This issue has NOTHING to do with my ISP 2700X Asus Hero VII crosshair Wifi so a intel 1gbit lan port If I do a fresh install everything is fine. test my internet. 400mbps down and 40mbps up. Great. time to download the games. After a reboot I do a speed test. bam 50-60mbps. I check the wife's computer who is on the same switch as me. she still tests out to 400mbps. I do random stuff like using cloudflare's DNS. DNS flushing. Removing my LAN drivers and reinstalling with intel's latest driver. Nothing. the lan is set to 1gbit and is recognised as such in windows. I kept on testing and no matter what I did it didn't fully fix it. at MOST I am hovering around 90mbps. Went fuck it and did a full windows reinstall and bam. full 400mbps again. now a day later it is completely back to the old story of internet speeds being less than one fourth of what my ISP is doing. Does Anybody have ANY idea what the hell is going on? Edit: added a picture of the system speed test and a speed test on my phone's wifi downstair
  11. I presume it's more about sitting on their asses for too long. massive upgrades don't happen in a year. also AMD already makes GPUs so they can just repurpose their existing tech. while Igpu is like. something that really didn't matter to intel. until AMD came back. Plus unlike AMD they can't do massive price drops because they are dealing with all the costs of building new fabs and designing new nodes themselves. THEY have to pay for literally everything while AMD simple designs and gets their stuff made by somebody else who already made the investment into fabs and nodes.
  12. OBviously the most important thing here is the user setup and it's connection to the server network. In general the biggest issue is that as I never(bought a new work laptop and tried getting it to work on my user on the server) got that working. In terms of files there isn't much saving. other than user setup and maybe the designing software. Also black screen fixed that I had last night. DP cable stopped working
  13. First post here and it is already a problem. So a short backstory of this situation. I work for my parents at their commercial kitchen store, we design and render our designs in Winner from compusoft. Now this does it rendering purely on CPU, no GPU acceleration at all. Now we have this shitty IT guy that now works for a big even shittier company who handles all our IT. Occasionally we change out our computer or add computers but he always convinces my father to buy these stupid HP workstation with 8 gigs of ram and quad core CPUs. Knowing very well that we RENDER with these things(once he bought a quadro for one of them not even checking if the program is GPU accelerated). Now I FINALLY was able to convince them to let me build one new rig as test since I have been complaining about having to render everything at low quality due to higher quality taking 5-8 hours. Current day. I just finished building a threadripper 1920X which should be a big boost to our render times. Being my first from scratch build it had its issues like the case being too damn short and not wide enough for the cooler but eh nothing some modding to a side panel can't fix. Now the actual problem. My initial plan was to take the HDD from the old PC and transplant it into the new rig and then clone it to the M.2 that is in there. I have done this before with a laptop which worked fine. I did all of that and booted up the system. First I got a "windows had a error last boot". Something I have seen happen sometimes with a hard shutdown. options are "start windows normally" or do a system recovery. Start windows. hooray the windows loading screen shows up. Then a black screen and a reset. Essentially every time I try to boot and I go to the windows loading screen the system just black screens and resets. now I tried doing the recovery option which loads files and then pop ups a windows window but no input devices work. my wireless keyboard and mouse don't do anything. I figured something broke there as they worked fine in the bios so I plugged in a USB mouse but nothing. the mouse lights up for a fraction of a second and just dies. Doesn't work either so I guess the only thing I can try is to find some damn PS/2 keyboard somewhere. So that is the issue I am having. try to boot. windows shows up for like 10 second. black screens and then resets the PC. Recovery tools for some reason have dead input. Any ideas on what I could try? I would prefer not doing a fresh windows install as I would have to fuck around with trying to get the PC and the server linked up so that the user login is running on the server not local. I know a decent amount of IT and can trouble shoot pretty well but server stuff and networks is absolutely not my thing. I could ask the IT guy but eh that douche charges us for even calling him if its not about one of their systems blowing up. The fact that we bought and build a work station not from him/company is going to piss him off anyway. I guess the issue has to do with from going a intel platform to an AMD platform. I have looked around and I have seen people talking mostly about windows licenses not being activated when transplanting HDDs from system builders like HP and DELL. It's just frustrating that this is still a issue in this day and age. But wait there's more. After putting back the HDD in the original PC so the employee could continue working. it worked fine. After work hours I decided to try some stuff. Turn on his PC. Nothing. black screen on the monitor. I tried plugging in and unplugging and it SEEMS like the monitor receives something because it turns on from sleep but a black screen and then goes back to sleep. I tried some stuff and still nothing. figured out to try the new system. still nothing. black screen. not with it's unbootable M.2 or the transplant HDD. Nothing shows up on either system. For god sake I hope that this is just a display port cable that decided to randomly die.
