  1. I have tried absolutely everything now. It worked last week, but I turned my computer on yesterday and it simply would not do anything. Any random suggestions are welcome. I just bought Need For Speed Heat and have a couple hours playing it. I don't want to get my money back, I just want to get origin running.
  2. I forgot to mention I've installed windows somewhere around 10 times now since building this. And I've replaced the hard drive. I'm also now looking at some benchmarks just to see if it's my gpu, but I'm definitely held back by something. Crossing my fingers this is the last thing I have to fix.
  3. So, over the past year and a half I've been given all sorts of trouble from this pc of mine (which I'm sure you'll see if you look at my past posts). I still can't restart it, it just shuts down and gives me a black screen with the system still "running". I'm getting a framerate that I think is less than I should be getting for my specs. Often when I boot into windows it immediately freezes or is extremely choppy. I cannot use any kind of wired audio device (that plugs into the audio jack). And lastly my cpu usage is constantly far too high. I'm thinking the problem is my motherboard, as I am on my second graphics card now and my temps are fine regardless. Any ideas as to what the culprit could be? Specs: Asus STRIX GAMING Z370-I Asus STRIX GAMING GTX 1070 Intel i5 8400 Stock intel cooler (but temps aren't an issue) 16 gb ram Corsair sf450 Any help is much appreciated. I really want this to be fixed so I can stop worrying about what's causing these issues.
  4. Ok so I think I've found the solution and it doesn't make a ton of sense to me. I took out my graphics card and then turned on the system and it posted just like it used to. Any ideas why that would cause the problem? I'm not keeping the gpu by the way.
  5. Tried reseating RAM a few times has not made a difference, I will try again though just in case No difference trying with just one of the sticks or reseating and switching them
  6. About a year ago built myself a new pc, and I've had some issues with it along the way. Having resolved those now this starts happening. For the past few months I've been having very hit or miss performance out of my system, sometimes having to restart a few times just to get it running properly (like 10 fps in games like The Crew 2 compared to my usual 60). A few weeks ago I decided to take apart and rebuild my system to make sure I hadn't missed something or massed anything up. It turns out I had everything fine except for that my 24 pin atx cable only had 20 pins actually plugged in. Needless to say I fixed that but now my system won't post. The fans will spin up and everything but no "press F12 to enter BIOS setting" or anything. I have already tried resetting BIOS which didn't help, and switching back to the way the atx cable was plugged in. Nothing has worked. 7. I know it's not on the list but NZXT H500?
  8. Thanks for all your help guys, I found the problem. I fully disassembled and rebuilt it the other day and found it wouldn't even turn on any more. So, I took it into a shop, and the guy found that the psu was not in fact the issue. The problem was that the motherboard wasn't delivering any power to the components on there. All of the pins and connections were done right but the motherboard had that issue. thanks again for all you help guys
  9. No clue, I had a dell OptiPlex before this. That's where I got the hard drive, ram, and cpu.
  10. No, I checked before I installed my cpu and there are no bent pins I did, that's where it's sitting right now, I hoped that would make a difference but it didn't. Is there any chance I need to replace the ram? I know it's unlikely, but I used it before in a different computer and it worked fine there, however all of the videos I'm watching say to try different things with the ram, none of which are working.
  11. It did the first time, had a black screen with text that said: DRAM (something in Japanese or Chinese) DRAM (something in Japanese or chinese) drive: WD blue something... If it's any help, I've tried reseating both memory and gpu, and attempting to boot with ram sticks in different slots and configurations, but none of it has worked.
  12. Yes, I just redid them. they came preinstalled in the case but I tried using different screws before. Hasn't made a difference
  13. I wasn't clear in this sorry, I have a Corsair CX650 for my psu and I can't even get to the BIOS. No screen comes up and my keyboard won't even light up
  14. Hi everyone, I'm in the process of building my pc, and I have everything installed, including an operating system on my hdd (which I took from a different computer). I'll include a short video with my issue. If you have any solutions or ideas please let me know. This is usable for no more than web browsing. Thanks to anyone who bothered to read all of this.
