  1. "TUF Sabertooth Z97 Mark S expect to retail for close to R3890.00." What currency is that? Some asian country? It can be converted to what, say, $300~? EDIT: Nevermind: Part of the cost of the board will be for the Thermal Armor, then some more for the TUF rated components, and then there might be an additional cost due to the special addition nature of the model. At this point in time we have not been told the final cost for the US version, but we expect it to be around the $260-$300 mark. I guess the name Sabranco was too cool so they had to name it "Mark S" instead, or else people would die from instant boner.
  2. You should try them at a store, a friend's house, somewhere, before deciding. All I care about a mouse is how comfortable it is and how it deals with sweat/dirt. And the sensor can't be total shit. The DeathAdder is the most comfortable mice I have ever used (I have not used the g502) and it's easy to clean, which I do it once a fortnight. I can only recommend it as it's perfect for my needs, but I tried it before buying... that was when I fell in love with the shape of it and material it's made of. Good luck with your purchase.
  3. You are so wrong. In 1440p there are only 2x more pixels than in 1080p, not much, right? Nope. Sure, there are 8x more pixels in 4K if compared to 1080p but I think 100% more pixels is something noticeable, don't you? Fo'shur. Then I guess the difference in pixels between 1440p and 4k is nothing, just twice as many pixels, right? Wrong again. Sure, the higher the resolution the better but you have to spend so much on your rig to be able to play at 4K with reasonable FPS and quality that it's definitely not worth it. Not for now, at least. If you can, put a 1080p and a 1440p monitor side by side and you'll understand how much better 1440p is, and you don't need 980 SLI to play it at 60FPS. All I'm saying is that it is worth upgrading to 1440p but I'd wait for 120/144Hz 1440p screens with lower prices next year.
  4. You want a SteelSeries Siberia(V2 or Elite, no big difference), HyperX Cloud, V1500/H1500, Astro A40 or a ATH-AG1. I'd read about them all, see the pros, cons, reviews by websites, user/owners reviews, and watch youtube videos. I wouldn't buy anything that's not in this list, unless you go for a headphone+mic combo. I, personally, would get either the A40 or V1500. Even though you have a "high" budget, the V1500 are pretty awesome and cheap. On the other hand, the A40 is extremely comfortable for my taste and I just love it, even though I don't own one. Good luck with your purchase ~hu3~. P.S.: Regarding Surround 7.1/5.1, don't buy a headset just because of that. To be honest, a good Stereo 2.0 headset is just as good as Surround for positional audio while gaming. The proximity of the drivers and your ear (tympanum) is just too close for you to be able to actually tell a difference. Not to mention you most likely won't have "true" surround audio, rather, a virtual/emulated by software surround experience.
  5. No one needs a girlfriend, no relation to PCs whatsoever. Too much headaches. I'd rather have casual hook ups every week and have a gaming PC. It's impossible to live without either. At least if you're not 15 or very ugly...
  6. Brasileiro. There are many bad reviews on both the G930 and the V2100. I found more downsides for the Logitech headset than for Corsair's (thus why I bought the V2100), but I don't wanna make you buy something, you should try to look for that information by yourself. The deciding factors, for me, were that the headset overall felt cheap and just too much plastic, the earpads wear out quite fast(I know someone that has one) and it looks awful. If I were you, I wouldn't buy something because you already have a good experience with the brand but in a quite different branch. The expertise to make good mice and headsets is quite different and thus you should be careful. Many brands make awesome products in some fields but awful ones at other fields... Anyway, as long as you do your homework and know all pros and cons of each product you are deciding on, if you get disapointed with your purchase at least you know it wasn't your fault. Good luck with your purchase.
  7. I would: Get an air cooler such as the 212 Evo instead of that AIO, because 120/140mm AIO are not that amazing; Any reason why not 2x4GB?; - Okay, you wanna get another 8GB stick later. You want an SSD. You do. Good luck.
  8. If you're looking for longevity (good build quality) I'd stay away from Razer headsets. Siberia V2/Elite anytime over the Tiamat. Also, don't let "7.1/5.1 surround audio" make you buy something... it's not much better while gaming if compared to Stereo 2.0, not to my ears at least.
  9. I have never tried the Sound Blaster TACTIC3D but it looks kinda cheap, must read some reviews to have an actual opinion. I have read a lot about and/or tried the SteelSeries H, Logitech G930, Astro A50, PLYR1 and I own the V2100. As I had this same concern you have now, which wireless headset to pick, this is what I did: I know people that have the SteelSeries H, G930, Astro A50 and the V2100. The H Wireless and A50 feel really sturdy and well built but did not justificate dropping $250~300 on a headset. If the V2100 didn't exist, maybe it would be worth it, I guess it depends on how much you want to spend, but I'd rather buy three V2100 than one of those. The PLYR1 I tried at a store and it felt too small and made my ears hurt almost instantly. The G930 has a good balance, removable battery and some other stuff but it really felt cheap and too much plastic. When I discovered the V2100, I had to try it and found a dorm mate that had one. It felt so good, not as cheap as the G930 but not as sturdy as the SS H/A50, but for $90. So I bought it. It's not perfect, has it's issues such as, sometimes, when you start the PC the headset won't sync automatically so you have to hold the button for a few seconds, maybe a few times, until it finally syncs. That happened a lot in the early weeks of usage but has stopped now, for some reason. The pros are that the mic is great as people I play with tell me and it doesn't capture much ambient sound, I love the lift to mute feature, the scroll wheel is good places but I'm too used to the keyboard volume wheel, the range it works is pretty nice, I can talk on skype while cooking something on the kitchen and, finally, it's so comfortable with my average size head with big ears, you'll never run out of battery (which lasts for about 8hours after almost a year of daily use) while playing because it warns you the battery is almost over so you can play on wired mode. For that price, I doubt the G930 is better than the V2100/H2100 or the A50 and SS H are better bang for the buck. I'm not saying buy this, forget that, just saying that, if I ever buy a wireless headset again, I would buy the V2100/H2100 again.
  10. If these slow reads continue, don't let the warranty expire and RMA it! I guess it's worth having to do a fresh OS install than having a slow SSD for unknown reasons.
  11. I didn't mean it like that. Playing at 4K with a single 970 or 980 isn't that good, to be honest. And I never mentioned "overpriced 1440p G-Sync monitors". Soon these panels will get cheaper and more brands will be offering them so it will be worth waiting. If I was doing my setup today, I'd get a nice IPS colorful 1080p panel now and game on it while the 1440p 120/144Hz screens get cheaper then use it as a secondary monitor and game on the new 1440p one. And I really hope you don't hold to those 50 bugs for long... they can be bad for your health. Best of luck.
  12. If you have the money to buy a rig that can play at 4K so, no doubt, go for it. If you don't have it and would rather play at 1440p 144Hz, you won't miss much IMO.
  13. Ah então você é mais um troxa que mora no Brasil HU3 Well yeah, I'm gonna sell my 770 in Brazil for about 550$ and buy a 980. Fuck us, right?
  14. I'll have to make the decision of buying 500GB of SSD in a couple of weeks. I've been debating between those two specimen for longer than I should have. I know the 840 EVO has some cool features but also many problems. I also know that the MX100 has no major issues, but lack those features Samsung has. I really don't want to buy a 840 Pro as it would be a bit overkill and rape my budget but I'm taking that into consideration. If Black Friday has any 840 Pro sales I won't think twice, though I won't be happy .
  15. I can't understand if you're advising people to buy the Samsung or the Crucial solution. @OP: Does the SSD still have warranty?
  16. If you drink a lot, I don't think there's a limit to how much protection to your phone is necessary. I have an expensive screen protector and an inexpensive but big thick phone cover, thus, I drink a lot.
  17. Skyrim, old battlefields, old cs 1.6, emulators, old MMOs such as Mu, Ragnarok, Guild Wars, Silkroad, WoW, Cabal (the list is too long, just find one that looks cool to you/them) and minesweeper, obviously.
  18. I would say both are going to do just fine for, at least, 2 years. If your monitor isn't 60+Hz, I guess you won't really perceive the difference between a game running at 70 or 100 FPS. When the 970 finally starts to struggle to run the latest games on Ultra maintaining 60FPS you can always lower the settings, get a second 970 or just get a new video card. The same will happen to the 980, just a year later. That's what I believe and what I buy. I'm not an Ultra graphics fan so I don't really mind playing on High. Either way, I'd get a 970 with a good cooler, overclock it a bit and enjoy the $200 you saved.
  19. Console gaming has it's advantages and so does PC gaming. It's all about perspective. If playing with your buddies means a lot to you, get yourself a PS4 or whatever console you want. If more options of games, more control (mouse+kb), upgradability and all the other advantages of PC gaming you can think of are worth a shot, you will not regret it.
  20. I'd rather the game still ahd those ugly graphics. Not it has the same old graphics with more textures and anti-aliasing, just masking it. I really like(d) this game, it was my first MMO and it helped me a lot, in more ways I can remember/imagine. Then then banned me for leaving the auto-click program I did myself to high alch a few thousand items... So I'm mad but at the same time sad that I can't play it anymore. meme: my dream is that one day they'll make a runescape, real 3D, on its own engine, same game, same content, just a little more eye candy. I'll make one myself if I have enough free time in the future.
  21. Because Intel and AMD have different families of processors, less capable, slower clocks, less cores, no HT/SMT, smaller cache, etc because budget is meaningless. People buy i3, i5, Celeron because they want to, obviously, no other reason.
  22. What kind of keyboard are you looking for? Membrande gaming? Regular membrane? Mechanical gaming? Regular mechanical? Any cheap monitor from BenQ, ASUS, LG, etc are good options. You want a good price, not great quality, so I guess any regular TN panel should be okay. The Enthoo Pro is right about that budget and it's a pretty nice case. There's also the s340, from NZXT. If you'd like an opinion on your parts list.... Do you really need the 4790k? As you mentioned, you're already on the limit with your budget so... the 4690k really isn't enough? As @Wesleydn said, those 120/140 AIO are not worth it. If you're not an extreme overclocker, I'd get the 212 EVO to help save some money; You are spending more on your MOBO than you are on your CPU. And almost as much as you are spending on your GPU. That choice of mobo makes no sense, unless you're gonna take advantage of, pretty much, everything it has to offer. Which I don't think you will. I wouldn't spend over $200 on the MOBO if I were you; 8GB... I guess you could add more memory if you wanted to; Any special reasons to get that specific SSD? The EVGA SuperNOVA 650W (EVGA 120-G1-0650-XR) is cheaper and probably better than Corsair's. Hope it helps.
  23. Code the chinese postman. Easy as fuck.
  24. If your only concern is with games, worry not, the i5 is fine and more than 4 cores is hardly used by any games. I can't really see games taking real advantage of multiple cores now or in the future, at least not all genres of games. You're fine about that. If you stream while playing, like to do some crazy shit running all at the same time then you might feel the 4790k would've been a better choice but, honestly, you probably won't.
