  1. Already reinstalled thinking it was something I did. Its too late lol.
  2. I recently tore down a system and had a decent period between getting it back up and running while I was waiting on watercooling parts to show. Since rebuilding it, I've been getting a multitude of BSOD errors. Every time the system crashes its a different error. Also had my first BSOD ever on my main rig at home. Anybody else experiencing issues?
  3. So I put a waterblock on my 2080Ti FE card, and when reassembling the stock cooler for storage, one of the tiny little backplate screws slipped out of my fingers and landed on my carpet. I have been looking for it for three days with no joy. While I know that the card would function with a missing backplate screw with no issues, my OCD is driving me crazy knowing that it is missing. Does anybody know where I could find such a screw. Reddit seems to think that they are some proprietary M2.5 screw with an odd length and countersink, so they are near impossible to find at a hardware store. I emailed NVIDIA to ask about purchasing a handful of them, and they said they don't sell the parts separately. So no luck there. Other option is to buy a broken older Founders Edition card for super cheap and just steal parts off of it, but I have no idea whether those old cards use the same hardware for assembly. I'd assume they would, but NVIDIA does dumb things sometimes. Any help is appreciated.
  4. I don't really trust used stuff. Otherwise that would be a good option.
  5. Trying for no compromise as much as possible. The system will be entirely watercooler, so heat isn't really an issue. I appreciate the input though!
  6. Yeah, kind of need a card in the ITX system now though. Ain't got until Q4. Or Q3 for that matter lol.
  7. 2560x1440 165Hz. I have a 2080Ti in my main system and a 2080 Super would be the first lower tier card I've bought since the 700 series. Champagne tastes and all that jazz.
  8. Hey all. So what is everyone's opinion on the 2080 Super vs. the 2080Ti looking into the future? I'm asking because I am at a toss-up between these two cards in the Founders Edition variants. I am not interested in the 30-series cards as I need something pretty much now, so I'm planning on upgrading with the 40-series or whatever it winds up being. My question is, would you say the $500 price premium is worth the extra 3GB of GDDR6 and the better specced silicon? Are there any titles that are running into VRAM limitations at 1440p with 8GB cards yet? That's honestly my biggest concern. The 10FPS differential between the two cards in most games/benchmarks is relatively negligible, and really makes that extra $500 for the tiny advantage to the 2080Ti a little hard to swallow. Interested in the community's input. Thanks everyone.
  9. As the title suggests, my 3900X is no longer allowing any of the cores to sleep. I don't know what changed, but it used to shut down any core that wasn't in use. Now it leaves all cores in use at all times at idle, and has elevated my temps as a result. Nothing high enough to cause issues, just mostly curious as to what might have happened. Using Ryzen Balanced power plan. Any info is appreciated.
  10. I've noticed this on both of my systems, but more frequently my 3900X machine.
  11. Odd question for you guys/gals. It's baffling me as to why this is happening. I have my system hooked up to a 144Hz monitor. I have the desktop resolution/refresh set to 144Hz in the NVIDIA Control Panel, but for some odd reason whenever I have Ryzen Master or the Bethesda.net Launcher open, my mouse cursor acts as though the framerate dropped until I minimize the windows. I tried to set those programs to the Maximum Performance mode in the NCP, but with no effect. Not world ending, just kind of annoying. Any insight is appreciated!
  12. So for anyone who sees this, I figured I'd add that I isolated the problem. After tearing down the system and trying my other 2080Ti, I replicated the issue. So no dead 2080Ti FTW3 is good news. Next, I removed the riser card and plugged the GPU directly into the slot. Still no video. Okay, so maybe the motherboard is dead. Sad day. After that conclusion, I tried the DisplayPort cable that came with my monitor, which I know works. Much to my relief, I had video. No RMA for a $800 motherboard today! So the issue was the supplied DisplayPort cable that came with the vertical mounting bracket. Cool, now since the mount came with two, I can just use the other one right? Wrong. Hooking up the other DisplayPort cable gave me video, but only for a few minutes at a time. Now you may ask, why didn't I try the different cable first? Well the way that this vertical mount is designed, it only allows for 90 degree connections to the back of the GPU due to the little metal slot dividers. So a regular cable wouldn't work which is why I had to tear down half of my system to get to it. So now I need to figure out if they can send me new ones, or butcher my case to be able to use standard straight connector cables. I love hardline watercooling, but man does it suck when you have to tear something down lol. Lesson learned. Hope this helps someone.
  13. So after months of procrastination I finally finished my latest build. Ironically, this is the first one to give me problems upon first boot. I'm running an Asus Rampage VI Extreme Omega with a 7980XE. The OLED on the board goes through the entire post process without a hitch, then shows the CPU temperature as it should by default. I get absolutely no video at all from any of the DisplayPorts or the HDMI on the GPU. Never had this happen before and I'm kind of lost. I had the GPU on my test bench for months without issue (added a waterblock to it since, but that shouldn't matter), and the CPU came out of my previous system with the original Rampage VI Extreme. So I know they both are working. Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Wow. You guys know your stuff lol. I am a total noob when it comes to cameras and lenses. Definitely one of the reasons I want to start on this endeavor is to learn about these things. Could anyone give me a quick rundown on what lenses are for what specific shots. And yes I am speaking almost mostly in terms of video. I recently signed up for a year of Adobe Creative Cloud, so Premiere and Photoshop will be what I'm working with the most. I will be doing stills for social media and the like, so that is also a factor.
