  1. As I've said before, this is a TV upgrade for mostly watching content. As fun, as an oled might be for PC gaming, I already have a perfectly fine IPS panel for my PC that I am very content with, and I'd rather spend the extra money for something me and my partner can enjoy, rather than hog it all to myself at my desk.
  2. As a colorblind person, I have a harder time seeing the difference between close shades of color, so if the color is more alive and saturated in QD oled, that is probably the choice I want to go with. Especially since it's gonna mostly be for watching content. And yea, I can tell based on my visits to Best Buy that OLED would be a game changer. I just also wanted to splurge a little bit, and with QD Oled being relatively new tech, it got me excited. I just had to also be responsible before making a big purchase. Thank you all for your help.
  3. I never said this was for gaming. The only gaming that will happen is a few PS5 exclusives. This will be mainly used for watching content. From as simple as youtube to some nice 4k blurays from my plex server. Itll be an upgrade from a 43" insignia basic led panel, so I'm very excited. I just wanted to get some insight on if it was worth going with QD oled vs oled from LG. I would have totally gone for the Sony models if they were in budget.
  4. Hey everyone. I'm thinking of getting a C model samsung QD OLED since they are going down to a price I can afford due to the D models coming in a few months. I've tried to do research for burn in, since I've heard that there might be a problem with them. But when I look at reddit, reviews, etc., I get very mixed signals. Some say it's worst, other say it's fine, just do the right stuff to take care of it. Some say it's a big issue, over say only an issue with the first B models. What is everyone's experience, and would you recommend I go for it vs. getting something from LG?
  5. So, I'm using RTX voice with my Go XLR to keep the noise down, and it's worked great. But, the sampler and the voice changer effects are now no longer making it through. I've checked to make sure the sampler is set to go out through the chat mic, so either RTX voice doesn't work, or I am messing something up. Any tips?
  6. Thank you all for your help. The video was super helpful for my mic setup, and RTX Voice fixed everything.
  7. So, when I'm on my discord, my microphone keeps picking up my SO's voice, who is next to me at their desk. I have a GoXLR and an SM7B mic. It;s a dynamic mic, so it shouldn't pick them up but it does. Is there software, or an audio setting, that I can use so that their voice is not picked up? I've tried googling it, but I can't find a solution.
  8. Did not know that it didn't fit evenly. I'll go for the 1440p monitor then. Itll be nicer on the wallet too. Thank you.
  9. I am in the market for a new montior, as I just got a 3070ti and want to use it's potential instead of staying at 1080p. I want to change a 32inch montior for productivity for my job, but I don't know what is a better plan. Should I go for a 4k monitor so I can use it for productivity/editing and then change the resoultion to 1440p when I game, since I prefer a game running smoother over looking pretty, or should I just stick to 1440p? Obviously there's a lot of other factors (money, PC specs, etc), and I'll probably go with the 1440p option, but I'm very new to this and want to know what others would pick if money wasn't an issue and you had my system. Thanks in advanced. important PC specs: Ryzen 7 5800x 32gb ram 3070ti
  10. Good question. I do use Davinci for editing, though I know that is buggy based on LTT's findings, along with knowing that many streaming services will most likely switch to it in the future, if the don't aready support it. I aslo know that that. Plex, in my research so far, isn't supporting it yet. The Chromecast i use does seem to support it based on the articles I've seen, so that's nice. I guess his is more of a "when the time comes" kind of question. I can wait till it's more main stream and do it then. I just want to get some opinions on what would be a better use case for it.
  11. Just finished watching the new LTT video about intel arc and the AV1 encoder. Had a question. If I decide to get one (I know, it's early adoption, but like Luke, I like to mess with early stuff), would it be more benefitable to change out my GTX 1070 in my server and use the arc for better media streaming from my unraid home server, or put it in my main Pc for better encoding for streaming/editing? Again, I know it's early, so maybe no one knows yet. But my curiosity can't help but wonder. For context, I have a 3070ti with a 850 watt power supply in my main PC, so if I would need to buy a better power supply to run both cards, that will also affect my decision. My server has a 750 watt, but it's only got one PCIe slot anyway, so there is not need to change out that.
  12. Thank you. The problem was a mix of those settings and also the user was not linked to the windows user. I'll look into how to do that later. Thanks for everyone's help/feedback.
  13. Sorry. I meant folder. I made a share in unraid, but then none of them can be found when i try to map them on windows
  14. I can't seem to be able to make any network files connect to my Pc off my Unraid server. when i type in the server name and file name, it says "Server1" exists, but Windows can't find "media". Why would this be? is there something i need to do to my network settings? Is there an unraid setting that is off? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
