JAW96 got a reaction from da na in Experiences with non-techies
funny thing with ours, is it was a stray that slipped in with out anyone noticing late at night, and I woke up that morning with a animal by me and I thought it was our other cat minion went to pet him and noticed if felt nothing like minion, so me and this cat have a awkward stare down before I call my mom asking what is with this strange cat in my bed.

Okay we had this fairly decent computer and we gave it to our mom, at the time my computer couldn't run BF3 so I installed onto her PC to play and it so happened that the ram went bad the day after, even though I explained to her that a game can't fry RAM she still goes to my brother for tech advice, and he isn't home she will sit there and wait for to come home even if I tell her how the solve the problem.

yeah, barracuda master race, oh and my mom complaining about her PC (about 10 years old now) and going "oh it's fine for what I do" thinking of sabotaging it.

This a simple topic meant to look at things that we take for granted today like UEFI, and ease of installing drivers! So tell away with your stories fellow linustechtipions!

was bored one day and wanted to see have far I could get my old GT 9600 push my modded Skyrim... It got 3fps, but those where the most fucking solid 3fps you have ever seen in your life!

JAW96 got a reaction from BurgerBum in You know you're a techie when. . .
I have the issue that my closet is not that big, so all the boxes are slowly bleeding into my room... I think I have a problem...
When all you think about in your spare time is working on tech
When windows you start feeling the limitations of windows (experimenting with zorin 9 distro liked it for the 20 mins I had with it)
When you take a old PC, and the previous owner asks "what are you planning to do with it?" and you lose them after one sentence.
When the idea of having to use a program just to transfer over music onto a phone angers you
the moment you know the names of PC parts
the moment you know what a BIOS is

but the hardware is what makes me cringe this much I mean 2 cpus for gaming and at the time of this video games were just starting to use 4 cores... oh and threads aren't the same as cores.

the moment I saw xenon I face palmed and when they said "they are also hyperthreaded, so they are 12 cores" I passed out from the impact of my palm hitting my face.
