  1. Hellooo, I have been suffering from random PC crashes only when gaming for a while now. They occur in any game (AC: Unity, PUBG, even DotA 2 has started crashing ? ) and cause instantaneous reboots. I have identified it in windows event log as a Kernel-Power 41 error with BugcheckCode 0, which I believe means that it is a hardware fault?? BUT I don't know how to identify which part. Sidenote: I also was getting a 10110 and 10111 critical error which related to a HID-compliant headset but I believe I have solved that so think it is unrelated My PC is a Ryzen 5 1600, GTX 970 Asus Strix, MSI B350 Tomahawk, 550W EVGA G3+ Supernova and 2 x 4Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz. I've maxed out the RAM with HCI memory test and experienced no issues (will run an overnight MemTest86 to confirm) Running FurMark for about 10 minutes I get stable temps of 75 degrees on my GPU and no crashes. What and how should I proceed? How can I test the PSU/MoBo? When in game the CPU seems fine and never goes near maxing out, RAM doesn't seem maxed out, GPU never goes to anywhere near dangerous temps so I am sat pulling my hair out when it reboots. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hellooo, I have been suffering from random PC crashes only when gaming for a while now. They occur in any game (AC: Unity, PUBG, even DotA 2 has started crashing :'( ) and causing instantaneous reboots. I have identified it in windows event log as a kernel power 41 error with bug check code 0 which I believe means that it is a hardware fault. BUT I don't know how to identify which part. So I want to start with what would be the cheapest to replace; memory. My PC is a Ryzen 5 1600, GTX 970 Asus Strix, MSI B350 Tomahawk, 550W EVGA G3+ Supernova and 2 x 4Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz. Reading around I've seen debates on MemTest64, MemTest86, Memtest86+, Ram Test (which is paid), and others. Could anyone help me by advising what to use or point me towards a good guide for fully testing RAM? Thanks in advance!
  3. I am in despair, my days of whiling away the hours in the Bohemian Kingdom's taverns or setting ambushes in Vikendi are being viciously sabotaged by an evil curse upon my PC. It. just. keeps. on. crashing. System specs: Ryzen 5 1600, MSI Tomahawk B350,Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 MHz 2x4GB, Asus Strix GeForce GTX 970, Corsair Carbide 400C,Crucial MX300 275GB, EVGA SuperNOVA 80+ Gold 550W Fully-Modular G3 Mobo, RAM and GPU second hand; everything else new. All purchased around November 2017 and then assembled by yours truly. The system has been working perfectly up until recently where it now crashes during load, this doesn't happen every time (sometimes I can play PUBG at 80+FPS with less than 70 degrees on GPU so it's not a thermal issue) but frequently when I start a game it crashes under that first bit of loading. All of my drivers are up to date, I am yet to update the BIOS but as I haven't changed out for any new parts I wouldn't have thought that was the issue? When it crashes the EZ debug light for the GPU flashes and this also occasionally flashes on start up. One extra new thing is that the motherboard is being slower to recognise peripherals; wifi adapter (I know, I know, there's no Ethernet port in my room ? ) , keyboard etc. sometimes not recognising them until I unplug and put them back in. I have run malwarebytes and Avast scans, to no avail. In my hour of need, I call for aid. Cheers and thanks for any help.
  4. For clarity, here are my full system specs.
  5. I don't actually have a USB drive but I'll try updating the BIOS ASAP. I have recorded the mobo as I booted up PUBG, normally I can make it into the game and then crashes later on, now it's crashing as soon as I open it. The light that comes on is the 2nd from bottom of the 4 EZ debug leds. I'm starting to think that this may be a motherboard issue? 20190101_132221_1.mp4
  6. There's nothing really much in the manual about what the lights actually mean, however I did think, do I need to update my mobo bios? Could that be whats causing the issue?
  7. Had a go at both of those, just re seated the card and still had a red light on mobo on start up (should have mentioned I get that as well) and also the driver is up to date with the most recent version as of 12.11.18
  8. Helloooo, I am having some issues with my GTX 970 causing my system to crash. I bought it off Gumtree around 12 months ago and it operated perfectly for the majority of that time, I have not overclocked the GPU but I have separately OC'd my CPU. In the last couple of months it has started to randomly cause the PC to crash, this only happens whilst gaming but the temps are not bad at all (max 70s). I thought it may have been thermal paste causing momentary spikes as I had not replaced it since getting the card so I opened it up to find that the opaste already on it was completely dried and flaking off. I cleaned that off and applied some Arctic MX-4 Thermal Compound. I saw 5-10 degrees improvement in temps whilst gaming but it still causes crashes. I only know that it's the GPU causing the issues as it lights up the error light on my B350 motherboard. Can someone help me through diagnosing and if possible fixing the problem? tl dr; GPU causing crashes, replaced thermal paste, help pls. Thanks, Matt
  9. I play quite a few other games, DotA 2, Shadow of Mordor and Witcher but as I won't have Freesync and G-sync is ridiculously expensive I'm guessing it's smarter to go for a 60Hz and OC it to 75Hz?
  10. I built my PC last weekend; R5 1600, 8GB 3200MHz RAM, and got an LG 29UM68 ultrawide only to find that Netflix isn't supported at ultrawide and none of the usual tricks to get it to work that I have found have been successful so I am looking to get a different monitor and just wanted to know if it's worth getting a 144Hz monitor with 970? I run PUBG at high preset at a steady 60 fps.
  11. I finished my new PC last weekend and used a set of Corsair LPX 3200MHz RAM that I got used for £55. I am using a Ryzen 5 1600 on an MSI Tomahawk B350 which has 4 dimm slots so can accomodate 2 more ram sticks. If I wanted to put 2 more sticks in, what do I need to account for? I found some Corsair LPX 2800MHz 2x4GB that are pretty cheap.
  12. Looking at getting a 1080p 24" and I have found a monitor that looks awesome, slim to no bezel, 24.5" screen, in-built speakers. It is a iiyama G-master G2530HSU-B1 Black Hawk (https://iiyama.com/gb_en/products/g-master-g2530hsu-b1/). I am wondering if anyone has used this brand and how their build and screen quality compares. Cheers for any advice.
  13. That is what I am considering, I got it through Amazon Prime and have up to 30 days to return it, but I love the monitor and in gaming it's amazing. :'( Downloading sounds good, does the downloaded file still have to be watched through the Netflix site? How would I make it extend to the full format?
  14. I have just built my first pc and got my self an LG 29UM68 UltraWide monitor that is stunning out of the box and plays Witcher 3 and Shadow of Mordor as well as DotA 2 beautifully at 21:9 with extended FoV as I hoped. However, when watching movies on Netflix I get full surround letter boxing. Like in this picture below. I have tried using Chrome extenions like UltraWidify and others to no avail, they install but won't activate whilst I'm watching a film. Has anyone else experienced this and have any advice as how to fix it? Thanks
  15. I got it working, had to re-install the CPU. It wasn't fully installed and came out when I took the fan off. Problem is I don't have any thermal paste so really need to get hold of some. Otherwise, it's all working beautifully now.
