MindUnited reacted to ProjectBox153 in Some PSU have vertical/horizontal end on the cord. Does it have any difference?
No. It’s dependent on how the PSU is internally laid out. Cool whine affect individual components inside.

It makes zero difference to the operation. It all depends on how the PSU is physically laid out inside.

makes no difference at all. It depends how the manufacturer wants to place it.

MindUnited reacted to LogicalDrm in Can PSU explosion while using PC can Injured me or like instant house fire?
If you would kink it really tight or crust it next to plug, then we would talk about issues. My case is pushed right next to wall, I have blanket about 30cm from PSU and I just broke rear power switch from this PSU. My PC would catch fire faster than yours, but I've also witnessed PSU blow up, so I'm not that worried.

Unfortunately, technology is easily broken, but in the same sense, it can be easily replaced!
I get where you're coming from completely, I don't know what I would do if any of my equipment broke. Us technology and computer enthusiasts dedicate a lot of time, passion and money into our hobbies, and to see your creation and passion in a state of disrepair can be upsetting. I'd liken it to having a car or motorcycle that you've spent time building and caring for, and one day you end up in a crash. It's all the same emotions and I can guarantee many people on this forum would feel the way that you do towards your computer! You're not alone, don't worry!

MindUnited reacted to Energycore in Looking to switch from Seidon to MasterLiquid, Is it right decision?
The MasterLiquid 120 is actually worse in its tier, it's in T5, so yeah, not worth what effectively is a downgrade.

MindUnited reacted to W-L in Looking to switch from Seidon to MasterLiquid, Is it right decision?
You will see very little difference between those two since it's still physically a 120mm rad if you want better cooling performance stepping up to a 140mm or dual 120-140mm AIO would make a much larger impact. If your old AIO still works as desired I would say keep it and save the money.

it ok it will last fine

Corsair and Cooler master and others aren't using Seasonic anymore mainly because they're somewhat inflexible, they're not willing to replace parts with cheaper but lower quality ones or use cheaper fans with lower life, in their power supplies. They're chasing the maximum profit per unit and working on cutting corners and reducing BOM costs while Seasonic probably isn't interested to be such an OEM.
They're basically "we put the circuit board in your case, take it or leave it" while other OEMs like CWT are willing to put shit on the market as long the buyer orders the minimum quantity.
be quiet ... meh, never liked them... German company always focusing on silent operation with decent fans but while using HEC or FSP (fortron) and their Capxon capacitors. Could just as well buy one of those Sirfa/High Power supplies with their golf ball fans and get the same silent profile more or less yet better quality.
As for coil whine on Seasonic power supplies ... yeah, that happens when you make power supplies that are too aggressive, aiming for lowest ripple and all that. Doesn't happen to me, but I'm aware some people have whining Seasonic power supplies.
However, it's not something that happens only on Seasonic power supplies.
@MindUnited, relax, keep using what you have now. Your computer doesn't use more than 200-250 watts when you're gaming. The power supply you have is barely sweating at such low power consumption, it should still be almost as good as new
-
MindUnited reacted to mariushm in does my PSU considered good and reliable one?
Correct, the power supply produces only as much as components in your pc demand. The 750w is the maximum that can sent to components.
idle = in windows, browsing net watching movies , load = doing something cpu intensive, or playing some serious game
cpu 5-10w idle, 50-70w load , graphics card 10-15w idle , 120w load
motherboard 20-40w maybe ,2-3w per memory stick, around 1-3w per fan, around 6-8w per mechanical hdd, 2-3w for ssd
the power supply should turn off its fan when it outputs less than around 150 watts ... so if fan doesn't spin you know pc uses less than that.
Nothing gets damaged when that whine happens. It can whine 24/7 for months or years without problems but it would be annoying.
It's just wires rubbing against ferrite cores (a magnetic material), or like the buzz of a power transformer or the noise you hear if you put your ear close to a fluorescent light bulb

Either the Corsair RM550x or the BitFenix Whisper M 450W. Both are good options.

MindUnited reacted to Sakkura in does my PSU considered good and reliable one?
Recommended would be to keep your current unit. It's high quality and has only been in use for a year.
-
MindUnited reacted to mariushm in does my PSU considered good and reliable one?
It's a good brand and it's a very high quality series with quality components and the warranty for those was 5 or 7 years so you know they were made to last.
I myself have a x-650 from Seasonic and it's still working perfectly fine (4years or more since i bought it)

MindUnited reacted to SquintyG33Rs in does my PSU considered good and reliable one?
seasonic is probably best PSU brand so it should be good

MindUnited reacted to rheyL in Should this range considered too hot for my GPU/CPU?
see that? 1.404v for 4.0GHz turbo... hahaha too much voltage... and yes you are still safe on that range and yes FX cpu are built for that.
1.225v for 4.0GHz is enough if you manually overclock it. And that voltage 1.404v is for 4.5GHz
you are still good, safe and sound.
no worries. game on!
-
MindUnited reacted to rheyL in Should this range considered too hot for my GPU/CPU?
we have the same cpu there, turning of turbo mode will lower that 50 deg C... turbo mode of FX cpu is crazy injecting very high voltage just to reach 4.0GHz on turbo mode..
but on top of that no worries on your cpu temp it is still normal.
-
MindUnited reacted to Mihle in Should this range considered too hot for my GPU/CPU?
When I game my GPU reach 85-90 c and it is fine.
-
MindUnited reacted to Aelita Sophie in Should this range considered too hot for my GPU/CPU?
Nah. The website states that 65C with demanding games is normal and to be expected. Anything lower is even better. Quick rule of thumb. A CPU should not reach higher then 90C on a hot day. Most people use a max temp of 80C, which is perfectly reasonable. Same goes somewhat for Graphic cards. Not higher then 90C and you are fine. The lower the better. I generally set my fan curve so it can never reach higher then 75C. (I tend to keep my GPU's cooler then my CPU's)
Anyhow, those are perfectly normal temps. Nothing to worry about.
-
MindUnited reacted to Licorish in Should this range considered too hot for my GPU/CPU?
Completely okay temps. Don't worry.
