Thunderbolt 2 is about half the speed of TB3,so do expect some performance degradation, especially with higher-end GPUs

The unwritten rule is that the buyer goes tot he seller's house..but if you want to meet in public, ask for proof of working. an for buyers protection, pay through Paypal

I think he would agree with you. I think he has said a few times in his videos that he will not buy green or blue (not sure if both) due to their practices. But he tries to present objective info.

There is a potential there, but nothing in the article itself really sticks out to me as unfair or biased. Same with skimming through the comments and reading Allyn's responses to questions and comments. That said, they really should have disclosed this. Allyn works for Shrout Research. If he worked on the white paper he was paid to work on this product. That does not make it a sponsored review, but it does make not disclosing it a huge ethical violation. This is something PCPer should be called out on and something they need to address going forward. Any potential conflict of interest needs to be exposed. It doesn't matter if the conflict is really there, anything that appears to be one should always be made apparent to people reading or watching reviews. I believe that reviewers should also reveal where they got hardware from, even if it's just in vague terms like "hardware provided for review by supplier" or "hardware purchased for review" and this should be revealed before the review even starts. If a written review, it should be in bold letters. If a video review, it should be something clearly stated before the actual review starts. The tech industry does a pretty piss poor job of disclosing things.

I think the current gpu market has made the decision for you..
A 1600 would be ~40% faster in single threaded perf that your FX, so it will certainly make a difference in gaming, and the prices are pretty good. A 380x is still a good card for 1080p gaming, I'd upgrade your cpu platform, and then wait to see if the gpu market will sort itself out.

GPU is that main thing that would benefit from an upgrade.. unfortunately.

Ya depends on how much you'd want to spend. a 7500 is a good value buy, you'll get way more life out of that, deffo not a bottleneck unless you decide to throw a 1080ti in there lol
But at the same time, going to something like the 8400 or 8500 would be wayyy better.

    Deffo get an SSD regardless

Hugsy Malone reacted to trevrez in DELL OPTIPLEX 3020 GRAPHICS CARD?
I had been looking at some cheap DELL pre-builts for my nephews and what I found was that some have a 35W limit on the PCIe slot instead of the standard 75W.  The GTX 1050/TI needs 75W.    The GTX 1030 is 30W.

I do not know what the 3020 supports and they fail to bother mentioning it on spec sheet:

    http://i.dell.com/sites/doccontent/shared-content/data-sheets/en/Documents/CSG-EN-XX-ALL-Optiplex-3020-Spec-Sheet.pdf

I'd do some more digging and confirm before you purchase a 75W card.

Sometimes it will will say right on the board (not my pic):

Can't fault your build. Only wish that GPUs weren't so expensive, so you could get a 6gb version of the 1060, or an 8gb rx 580.

Hugsy Malone got a reaction from saltbox23k in Is mining ok for GPU
Im not sure if this is the case for all cryptos, but when I was mining ETH, I found the clocks had no effect on the hashrate. so I underclocked my gpu to save power. The VRAM clocks did have an effect though.

I think your usage drops when you bring up task manager. PUBG is now in the background. Just like your GPU dropped to 17%. You'll need to monitor it while the game is up and running to get the full picture. Afterburner is a good tool to use.

Considering its reading that when all the others are at ~30, id say the temp monitor on the die is faulty.

Hugsy Malone reacted to JaegerB in Peeps! Recommend me a Wi-FI USB for desktop
If you've got a desktop computer and you have space in it (slots free), I'd recommend a wireless card. USB adapters (the affordable ones) usually lack antennas, and thus have poor coverage. Those that do have them are pricey.
You can get a wireless card from TPLink or other manufacturers for 30-40 USD.

I'm running a V64 and do perfectly well at staying above 60fps @ 3440x1440, So should be fine with a 1080. If you can find one with normal pricing that is lol

I think you need to be realistic with your expectations. $200 is very tight for a build, so don't expect show-stopping performance.
You might be able to pick up a gtx 960 or r9 280 for around $100, which would be good, if you can extend your budget.

It will work perfectly, the whole pc will. I would get an SSD though, I always thought an HDD was enough but a fast SSD makes such a big difference, I get angry if I try to use a computer without one

Hugsy Malone got a reaction from Princess Luna in My 8700k is too hot ?
I recall from the launch issues that some z370 boards shipped with "multi Core Enhancement", which effectively overclocked all 6 cores, leading to some really impressive benchmar numbers.
If this is active on yours then this could explain the high heat, even though you say you haven't OC'd
