    Does it look like this?
I think it is almost repulsive.  No visible heatpipes, an ugly 20mm fan on top.  I like ASUS's STRIX 980 Ti and 390X DCUIII more.

Here would be a goal, but this is the wrong place to ask for donations, typically...
This build is overkill, you can decide on RAM too.

Really, they all have fans so none of them are silent.
If your going for awesome, grab ASUS's GTX 980 Ti DCU3
the MSI should be fine but, anything non-reference will be your best bet.  Just choose your favorite 980 Ti, if Overclocked it can go faster than the titan X too.

Yes you could play all steam games at 1080p, I'd suggest grabbing a cheap CPU cooler or optical drive in addition however.

A G3258 will perform slightly slower AT BEST, it suffers from games that don't support dual cores, and more frequent frame rate drops than the i3.
See various i3 vs G3258 videos for proof.
Go for the GTX 960, It is awesome! sometimes it is almost twice as fast as the 750 Ti who can get 45FPS on MAX for BF4...  Not to mention SLI and a sweet TDP.

I like it more than that i5 4690K
Sitting on a i7 4790K now though since I got it for $300.  (tried $225 but NCIXUS didn't honor their prices)
I think more threads are going to suit you better in the long run than faster threads.

Pay a little more and get the Xeon E3 1231 V3.  It'll have 2x the threads but isn't overclockable.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Dzzope in Is a 690 worth it?
Well, 2GB is going to hurt pretty soon BUT the GTX 690 is faster than the GTX 970 albeit, at the cost of SLI, 2GB of VRAM, and more power hungry.
If you can find a 780 Ti I'd recommend it but I too feel the attractiveness for that beautiful 690.

I'd recommend that you try it on some drive you don't care much about first, (or a partition) As a sort of trial run before making anything permanent.

The Rosewill Hive is a 750W PSU for $90.

It is Very well recommended by a vast majority, a good brand, and will serve you perfectly for SLI in the future.

If possible, consider waiting a bit longer and getting the 980 Ti instead of 970 SLI thanks to the fact it costs the same, (at present, 390X tomorrow) is a single chip, and performs pretty much the same but you can SLI it later down the road.

    Also, a 850W EVGA PSU for $90 + shipping
It will support SLI for 980 Ti or 970 with ease whatever you do do.
It appears to have a 5 year warranty and 4/5 eggs of 47 reviews.
(The Rosewill can support 980 Ti SLI but it's pushing it a little bit at 700W, 4/5 eggs at 311 reviews and 3 yr warranty)

Usually get the cheapest kit or go for something that matches.  Otherwise just plug it in, check that it runs at it's posted speeds and be happy.

No, unless you use an APU.

It's only a few extra dollars, and performs like 10 degrees better than the 212 evo.

So, majority of us have installed a new motherboard and run into having to just install our operating system to accommodate the new hardware.
Well, I'm going to share a little trick that I know on how to be able to use the same OS install on the new hardware problem free.
This is something that I use personally and very often in a computer shop environment.
It's much easier to just do this instead of having to backup someones data, move it here, install the os, move it back. That sucks.

    WARNING - WARNING
I only recommend this to users who are comfortable troubleshooting.
I have never had an issue with the software itself.
    Used this hundreds of times.
Just better to be safe than sorry.
But problems can happen. I don't want to be responsible for someone messing something up.
So please, take caution when trying something like this.
It can always be fixed. Nothing a OS re-install can't repair haha.

It's a pretty simple .ISO called Paragon Adaptive Restore.
It was a free tool offered by the Paragon Software company up until about 2010 when they started to adapt it into their paid programs only.
I have contacted the company about distributing the software and they had no worries about it since they will offer a download to it if asked

Current Download Link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3gyoaqlx29d6yxw/AADAYBACDOK0by5GVHaAMoJha/Paragon%20Adaptive%20Restore (Updated 7/30/14)
    File Size: 154 MB
    File Type: ISO Image

Start off by creating the bootable CD.
I personally use the program ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com) to create my cd's.
Once the CD is booted, restart the computer and boot to the CD.

Make sure your current motherboard has been REPLACED with the new motherboard.
These are the steps to follow once your new motherboard has been installed.

    1. Accept the end user license agreement by checking the box and hitting Accept.

    2. Select "Adjust OS"

    3. Select the Operating System on the drive.

    4. Select which option - I normally choose Adjust the OS automatically.
4.5. I rarely have the use the second option.

    5. From here you will see the software injecting and editing the proper drivers.

    6. Paragon hasn't changed anything yet. It needs your permission to apply the changes, click Yes, Apply the changes physically.
6.5 After this do not interrupt anything and just restart your computer normally and everything should boot into Windows.

You will need to remove older drivers once in Windows and install your new drivers.
