  1. If you have any friends please invite them to vote in this poll!
  2. Yes, but the greatest benefit is input lag.
  3. Glad to see this pool has gotten somewhere! Please share it with other people, I wish as many people as possible to vote in the poll!
  4. IF you are using Anything newer than Windows 7, You can pay for Paragon. Now, you can pay for this tool if it so desirable to not reinstall. IF you are using Win 7 or older, you can use the free version of a program called Paragon Its free and will solve this issue since Windows cannot switch motherboards. [link on LTT forum]
  5. Go for dual 8400 GS, its more economical and gets the job done. Plus they are silent if you get the fanless ones!
  6. Kinda funny that this came out, since Hillary wants us to think that Trump would cause this... I do agree with you though, While Hillary wants to hate Russia, Trump wants to work with them.
  7. Its funny how elections work: Nobody votes for Johnson because he can't win, and he can't win because nobody votes for him.
  8. While I recognize that this is a international forum, I'm just curious how people would vote if they had the choice to in the US election. (from the LTT forum) This poll will not post usernames. You will not be known unless you do comment. If you wish to comment, say why you'd pick a candidate! thanks
  9. What are you trying to do? $200 is more than enough if you run old games or do basic stuff. For this, basically any of the cheapest parts will work.
  10. The RX 470 is superior in virtually every way (aside from price??) It demolishes the 960 in a quick look at benchmarks here: [Nicolas11xvideoRX470vs960] Including power draw!
  11. It hurts your wallet, which clearly isn't a relevant downside here. I guess if you pick the wrong card, a downside could be looks and sheer power of the cooler.
  12. Its the cheapest board that supports everything this guy would want, I do not see any boards that are "lower" than Z170 which support SLI, while being Micro-ATX.
  13. This guy: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6JfmP6/asrock-motherboard-z170mextreme4 AsRock Extreme 4, I'd personally buy it if I wanted what you stated.
  14. Even the GTX 660 which is both slow, and 2GB is still very relevant for 1080p. (obviously can't still do full settings.)
  15. Need to make your tag say #firepole <--Never forget.
  16. 1060 3GB It costs $205 with shipping to the midwest (most likely changes, but $200 base.) I'd highly recommend getting $10 more for the 1060 which is way faster than the 470.
  17. I imagine that they would start you on C or C++. pick one of those as a first language.
  18. I'd like to note that you can also get the GTX 1060 3GB for the same price as the RX 470. And yes, the 1060 is the faster choice. [link to such an available model]
  19. the small one HOWEVER, 120GB is way too small to be "worth it" I'd recommend a 240GB for boot so you can be more liberal in programs installed on the SSD (which'll boot up really fast. consequently in addition to OS) I currently use 182GB of 291GB on my C: partition for an SSD.
  20. If you are looking for a good "value" in a GPU, look no further than here: passmark value[link] Just keep in mind its not absolute and is only a "rule of thumb" comparison. I think you should shoot for the GTX 950 or higher.
  21. Unless your hardware at home is exactly the same as that at walmart, and assuming they will let you mess with the drive, I recommend using a disc utility named Paragon. It could be the issue but I am too young to have generally troubleshooted it. This might help with your issue, it will prepare the system for a new hardware configuration and does work on all windows versions to 7.
  22. Have I walked back into 2013??? R9 290X for $540
  23. Seeing as how an SSD doesn't move at all, double sided tape (and putting anywhere) wouldn't be a bad option.
  24. The GTX 950 would be a little faster?, but it is not worth the upgrade. If you play games that support SLI, that would be a better option (for $80ish), otherwise a 970/980 from ebay would double your general performance which cost about $200 used.
  25. Arguably, it could be... (10?ish years ago my dad chose an 8400 GS and Q6600 instead of say a 8600 GT & Core Duo(I was 7-8 then so I'm guessing), which system would you rather have a GTX 660 with in 2012?) But people have to not be stupid as well, for $600 you could easily wind up with an i3 & Powerful GPU, but an i5 would cost the GPU in favor of longer lifespan. An i7 at $600 is suicide. Probably a better way to say it would be this: Try and step up the CPU instead of stepping up the GPU when building a new PC.
