Hello everyone. I need to buy a new computer for collage as my current one was stolen. Here are my notes and thoughts. Also I'm in the UK. minimum specs I'd like to have: A 4 core CPU that benches at a minimum of -15% in comparison to a i5-6600k. I would like it to have the equivilent of atleast a 1650. any storage options. any ram as long as it's not soldered and has 2 slots. 5 hours of battery life. A 14 inch 1080p 60Hz screen is a must as a minimum. bonuses: Removable battery or 7+ hours of battery life. Can be purchased without windows. For a display I'd like it to have a 15 inch 120Hz+ 1080p+ display It has a 1660 ti equivilent or better so that I can play some games. It can be bought without any storage drives included. It has an m.2 slot along with room for a 2.5" HDD It comes with a fare warenty but I don't really mind this one. Considderations: I want to buy/upgrade to 16GB of ram from CEX. I'd also like to buy my storage seperate. That being a m.2 NVME drive. I will also be installing arch linux on it so there is no need for windows. Usecase: I will be running 3-4 virtual machines at a time and would like the boot times to be relitively quick. I'm a cyber security student. I's also like to play some games like CSGO, Doom 2016 and doom eternal. Possible choices I've been thinking of: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/173in-3xs-performance-gtx-4gb-gtx-1650-144hz-fhd-screen-intel-core-i7-9750h-8gb-ddr4-240gb-m2-ssd-1t £1,029 - 17.3in 1080p 144Hz,i7-9750H 6core, 1650, 1TB HDD + 240GB m.2, 8GB ram https://www.razer.com/gb-en/gaming-laptops/razer-blade-v6 £900 - 14in 1080p, i7-7700HQ 4core, GTX1060 6gb, 256GB M.2, 16GB ram, THUNDERBOLT 3 https://www.scan.co.uk/products/156-msi-gf63-thin-9sc-419-fhd-60hz-ips-level-i5-9300h-8gb-ddr4-256gb-nvme-ssd-4gb-gtx-1650-win10 £779 - 15.6in 1080p 60hz, i5-9300 4core, GTX1650 4gb, 256GB nvme, 8GB ram, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/hp-pavilion-15-dk0026na-nvidia-gtx-1660ti-8gb-15.6-fhd-ips-intel-i7-9750h-gaming-laptop-lt-04k-hp.html £1099 - 15.6in 1080p 60hz, i7-9750H 6core, 1660ti 6GB, 512GB nvme, 8GB ram, +aestetics https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/recoil-III-gtx-15/ £1032 - 15.6in 1080p 144hz, 9750H 6core, 1660 ti 6GB, optin price included 512GB nvme, 16GB ram, 17.3in is an additional £30 https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=7DX02EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB £1,049 - 15.6in 1080p, i-9750H 6core, 1660ti, 512GB SSD, 1x8gb ram Any thoughs / Opinions. Hello, I bought a cpupple Gpu risers that have a USB-3 connection between the mobo and the cards. i was wondering if this made them hot swappable especially if the card is not the main gpu displaying graphics (these are for my mining rigs)

Overclocking Limit For MSI Afterburner
ThatStudentBoi replied to ThatStudentBoi's topic in Graphics Cards
iv gotten from 19Mh to 25Mh this OC is definitely only stable for ethereum mining however i want to squeeze as much as i can out of these cards (Scottish student I don't pay for electricity) i somehow don't think that this is the limit for these cards -
hello, i am mining ethereum on a set of 4 MSI GTX 1060 3Gb and MSI afterburner is not letting me go over +1000MHZ on the mem clock. (current clocks across all cards: 1569core/5000mem)(overclock rates: -400core/ +1000mem)(i sit at 58C on full load)
