This could be incorrect timings, incorrect voltage, bad RAM, anything. MemTest86 is not a be-all, end-all, I've had DIMMs that tested fine on it, but failed within weeks. Only way to know for sure is to test them in another machine to see if the issue travels with them, but without knowing the setup, the only other advice I could offer is to verify whether the RAM SKU is on the board's Qualified Vendor List, as this can be a major issue with some setups, especially with Ryzen.

Adding onto this, Reading around it could be almost anything. Any idea why I cant just compress a dmp file to share to microsoft?

    BIOS version - 2604
Windows Build- 22000.978 on windows home (latest)
    Latest gpu drivers
    no errors from sfc /scannow

Is the ram on its XMP speed?

Yes, it is on XMP. I havent had an issue for 4 months though.
I havent done a memory test as I have read you can do many passes and still pick up nothing (and take days to do so)

ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming Wi-Fi Motherboard
    G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz CL16 DDR4

  3. So over the past week ive been getting basically 1 crash a day, all of them are 'memory management bsod' except I had 1 'system thread exception not handled'.

Looking online I have a 100 options it could be, but now its causing more issues such as no audio, keyboard software wouldnt open and steam for whatever reason.

1 of the biggest issues I am having though is I cannot compress a dmp file, I have moved it out to desktop (i am the owner and only user of my PC) but I dont have permission so in the meantime while im rushing incase its a hardware failure on 4 month old parts, all i can provide is this.

    event 1001

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x0000001a (0x0000000000041792, 0xffffc10025561a40, 0x0800000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: cc81bb46-d90d-4207-9d12-861ffef8ca76.

Your issue is GPU or Audio driver related. The simplest method is to just download the latest drivers for both, uninstall both, restart, and install the latest drivers for both again.

I did that, twice. It's also a clean install of windows11

    Nevermind that you have tried.

From what I can gather reading around, it seems that AMD can have that problem sometimes.

The cause and the solution I don't know but I'll link here what I've found so far from a couple quick searches:

"Your issue could be either with software or hardware. If issue is with hardware, your PSU is the culprit. Some PSUs, especially older and/or lower build quality units doesn't support CPU C6/C7 sleep states. It manifests as BSoD or black screen on wake up."

    What PSU are you using?

Uh, a Corsair CX850 I believe. Iy's a few years old but still more than enough power. Everyone that has this issue seem to get a black screen and frozen PC. I don't have that problem. Drivers are picking up atleast partially from sleep mode as games run fine

When you write that it decided to use sleep rather than stay on - have you looked at the settings? I have to ask this question to clarify.

I am using performance mode, turn off display after 1 hour and sleep after 4. it also does it when I put it to sleep manually. I'd like to use sleep but it's having this issue

  7. So I finally upgraded PC and windows and decided to use sleep rather than leaving pc on 24/7 but every time I wake it up video is broken?
It'll play 1 frame then be stuck forever, this goes for Discord embeded, Chrome, Mpv and Discord videos. gifs work and Movies & Tv app thing plays at 1 fps.
I can only assume it was drivers but everything as far as I can tell works fine. Only thing I noticed is when I right click steam no games have icons but maybe it was already like that and App and Browser control turned off?

Ah... I think you can just change its name but it'd probably mess up some applications

Yeah it breaks a lot of things. I put multiple hours in already. Solution will be to just create new emails with first digits to be the names

And why does it matter what your user folder is called?

Rather it wasn't a jumble of letters but something easily understandable. "Saved to dbrjs", why is having my folders named as I want so bad and complicated

  10. Installed win11, discovered that the User is the first digits of my old email and not just my name. I kinda broke it tryna use methods online to fix it So I have done a clean install upto adding a microsoft account. Can I avoid this and just use my name?

Any reason for Z690 over B660? They lose out on CPU OC, but keep XMP. Lose out on PCIE 5.0, but that's not getting used yet.

    https://www.pccasegear.com/products/56859/asus-prime-b660-plus-d4-motherboard

12600k+ B660 is less than the 5800x and motherboard.

I doubt I'll upgrade anything, I'll just use it until its slow and just replace it in 5 ish years. 12600k seems to be within 5fps of 5800x looking at game reviews. So why is everyone choosing intel?

what components do you already have and what is your budget

sorry if you have already answered these questions but if you have I couldn't find them

1080ti atm, im just upgrading cpu platform. Seems like 5600x is best for 1080ti currently but gpu is aging and I want it to be somewhat future proof once I replace gpu as I will probably be running this for 5 odd years

Those prices are horrendous, there has to be some other option cause that 5800x is the price of a 5900x, 32gb ram is the price of 64gb ram, basically everything is double the price. What country are you in and why is pccasegear your only option?  Or are you in austrailia or somewhere that uses a weaker dollar than usd? Which would explain the pricing

The psu should be fine, not prefferable to use that psu but it atleast shouldnt explode

Yeah AUD prices if thats causing confusion.

You can ditch the BIOS update service, that board has BIOS Flashback so you can do it yourself with a flash drive and 10 minutes. Everything looks compatible, but if you care about price to performance there are some things you can change.

Im all ears for price to performance, I didn't have a whole lot of options in terms of memory etc that I thought would work, pccasegear.com is the only option I have. What do you suggest?

  15. I just want my build compatibly checked please.

I have a case with .4mm clearance left for cooler but ill just bend the acrylic sidepanel or cut a hole lol.

My other thought is will my CS850M PSU be okay? Pcpartpicker threw out a warning but afaik you dont need the 4pin?

F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC is the exact model of the RAM.

Is there anything else I overlooked? im only upgrading cpu platform.
