  1. Hell im listening dude, like i said, im a novice at this
  2. It's a HP prolaint DL380, 2 banks of 4 drives in raid 5 which is why i think ill use the 4gb.
  3. It's mainly because there is 3 of us here who could all be using the server at the same time (the server is shared storage for streaming films to TV ect as well as private storage/backups), just trying to eliminate any possible bottlenecks.
  4. Hi all! got to admit it has been a while! Trust you are all well Been looking for an ideal way to network my new place (sharing with 2 friends) with network speed being the priority between the 2 PC's and the file server, secondly is internet speed/throughput, I've done a rough diagram of how i think it would work best but you guy's will know better. The red lines are 4 Cat6 cables with the idea of between the router, server and the switches will be 4Gbit to give the best speed possible between them. Blue dotted lines are wireless and black is single 1gbit to devices. I have left it open for upgrades in the future (network expansion, hardware upgrades ect.) but for know with what I have I believe that's the best set up I can do, which is why I am asking you group of wondering people Cheers
  5. um... i dont quite believe this.... i just rebooted.... Im now officially lost
  6. the H100 doesnt need any connection to Link or software out of the box, you just install it and as long as it has power it just runs, its not the 'i' series. the 0 rpm is being posted in bios and on AI suite when it usually displays around the 2000 rpm mark
  7. the H100 isnt plugged into the commander anymore, its just doing its own thing but still saying 0 rpm
  8. Also, just quickly.. on one of my reinstalls of corsairLINK2 Avast popped up telling me siera2.exe was trojan and sandboxed it? any ideas?
  9. But its strill working.,,.., i think.. No it must be, the temps are ok, its been on 40 minutes now if the pump had failed then it would of cooked and powered off by now. Only other problem is RMA from the Isle Of Man to corsair will take about 7 weeks and i have no other coolers
  10. Ive done all that, all fans are fine and plugged into the board, yes ive restarted countless times, theres no water damage i looked yesterday while re routing all the fans, and yes the pc was turned off at the wall. Im really confused as to why the pump is at '0 rpm' yet the temps are normal
  11. Hi all, first off if there is a better thread than water cooling for me to post this i apologize, the main issue is my H100 and its a cooler with water in it so..... lol I had Link commander set up with my H100 and 2 cooling nodes and a lighting node till yesterday, all has been fine till i spent a month away.. came back and i had several problems with it: as soon as you enter your windows login it ramps up the fans on my GPU to max (even now *will make sense shortly*) non of the fans seemed to work properly, then it shut off the 2 fans connected to my rad! lights wouldnt respond till i rebooted. I then disconnected the Link Commander so the H100 is working by itself so to speak, fans plugged into my motherboard (fan xpert 2 is better than link commander for fan profiles anyway, seeing as i have a case full of corsair fans and command cannot control 3 pin fans,,,,,), the only thing the commander is doing now is controlling lights to react to temperatures. Turned my pc on this morning and the first thing was the 'NO CPU FAN' post warning! entered setup and CPU FAN read as N/A, quit that and it booted up normally, did a restart and same thing no cpu fan. but ive watched my temps like a hawk... they are ok?! I dont understand, if cpu fan is reading zero it must mean the pump isnt running? but my cpu temps are normal through me typing this.. Commander is still ramping my gpu fans to max every time i log on, the lights are on but corsairLINK2 cannot see them as a device, cpu rpm reading zero but the lights are on on the cooler and temps are staying normal. And just quickly i have done the usual checked all software and firmware it was up to date, reinstalled corsairLINK2 about 6 times now too. its been fine for close to a year (4 months since last format) as far as i am aware nothing has changed. Any help would be awesome! Because i am so confused i may just power off and go back to bed!
  12. i suppose if you look at it that way, ive not done water cooling myself just thought id share n didnt think of the 'if it does leak' :/
  13. do you NEED to unplug every power cable? unplugging the 24-pin and jumping will stop anything booting up anyway Just dont quote me on that, im not 100% if its true or not, best off scanning around on here abit longer
  14. From what ive looked at youd be hard pressed to find fans that are quiet at the rpm that arent noctua. but im using corsair's sp120's at full chat (1350ish rpm) and are near silent. all depends what you are looking for in the long run, most fans at that rpm are gonna be LOUD, but if your alright with that then its a non issue
  15. HA! i originally though a bloody huge bean bag! but alas.... the desk was too tall XD Id love a swivel chair but now im starting to think im gonna have to get any old chare and cut the legs short lol Not fused on comfort, anything is better than this thing! and i live on the isle of man (UK) so i am limited to buying off the net... weird.. i never thought buying things on the internet would be a limit :/
