  1. I want a finalmouse because my current Logitech G300's scroll wheel is pretty bipolar, half the time it works fine, the other half it doesn't work at all.
  2. x99 ooo baby These extra cores would definitely be so useful in my hosting of my own servers. Sometimes a 4670K just doesn't have enough power. Also getting a new platform would be a great excuse to got TOOOOONS of ram! lol
  3. My favorite thing about this notebook is that it's a powerful NOTEBOOK. Like yeah lol. Also the aesthetics are amazing.
  4. I'd like to get my hands on this phone because the screen is just awesome. Higher res than my phone or my computer monitor.
  5. I figured out what the issue was, the SSD just isn't showing up in Windows. My second SSD worked just fine.
  6. Hello, I'm having issues installing Windows 8.1 on my SSD while using AHCI. I had Windows 7 running fine in RAID before and I don't remember having any issues when installing. I've tried installing drivers but none of them seem to work. The SSD shows up in UEFI so my question is do you know of anything I'm missing? I don't want to install using IDE because I'd like to have TRIM. Sorry if this seems a little jumbled as typing on a phone isn't easy.
  7. I'm not entirely sure if this belongs in the news section but it caught me off guard when looking through my email so it's news to me. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=8430969&sku=S874-3905 Now I know it's only 30Hz at 4K. But how long ago was it when 4K was starting at $18,000?
  8. What I look for in an Ultimate gaming system is, Intel Intel Intel.
  9. This is a great giveaway thanks HTC! The phone I would like to pick is the 8X.
  10. Whoa buddy calm down, OEM copies of windows are tied to your computer's HWID so if you change your "core" system configuration you can not activate the key. Although if you have a retail copy, the one you get at Costco or from Microsoft themselves you can activate it on ONE PC at a time up to five times. Oh I forgot to add if you have an OEM copy and you change your system configuration you can try to call Microsoft and get them to activate your key for another PC. Okay, now on to the OP's questions. Honestly I would rather save a few bucks and put it down on a Z77 motherboard they just have much better features. Here is a motherboard I would recommend that is quite cheap, Link. When changing your motherboard you have to POWER OFF your computer please do that first, after that you unplug all of the connectors keeping a mental map of where they all go. Next you want to unscrew your old board off of the case's motherboard tray normally nine screws, you pull it out gently if anything is "snagging" move it out of the way so you don't damage anything. After you get the board out you want to remove the CPU cooler considering you are on an Intel board the cooler should just be held on by four clips that you can pop out, remove the cooler and wipe all of the old thermal paste off of your CPU and CPU cooler with a microfiber cloth. After cleaning all of the thermal paste you want to remove the CPU, it is held in by a small retention clamp you just want to unlock it so you can remove the CPU. When removing the CPU make sure NOT to touch the copper pads on the bottom, it would be best to use gloves for this step but it's up to you. Assuming you have the new motherboard out and sitting next to the old one. Place the CPU into the CPU socket it only goes in ONE way and do not put ANY pressure on the CPU when sitting it in the socket. After it is seated in the socket with the black plastic cover still on the retention clamp close the clamp the plastic should pop out. After all of that you NEED to apply new thermal paste the the CPU, good thermal paste and well worth it. There are many ways of applying the thermal paste but the way Linus and I do it is we apply a pea sized blob of it to the center of the CPU, after applying the paste you want to get your CPU cooler and place it on the CPU and snap the clips in place. Almost done! Now all you have to do if replace the I/O plate on the rear of your case, place the motherboard in the case, screw it in, plug all of the cables back in make sure you plugged them all in. That should be it, if I forgot something it is because I don't know how to format this... Good Luck with your build!
  11. I have a Gigabyte 990fx-UD3 board with the same feature, it does charge faster then normal 500m/a USB ports. It theoretically should charge three times as fast at 1.5 amps but that is just marketing. I do enjoy the On/Off charge though very useful, I no longer use "Wallwarts". Also the rear USB ports should all be "x3 power" and there should be one color coated (should be red) front panel USB connector on the motherboard. Good luck with your build!
  12. This is by far the best giveaway I have seen by any YouTuber! Twitter @MichaelCataldo_ https://twitter.com/MichaelCataldo_/status/316130009859379200
