  1. Thoughts appreciated on the below build. Looking at pairing it with a EVGA 1060 6GB Superclocked when i can find one at a sensible price. Will used for general use as well as some gaming. Do you suggest using a WD Black or will a WD Blue be ok considering I will be using it with an SSD? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/GvW4q4 Thanks
  2. Thanks for the suggestions. I will look at swapping out the WD drive for the Seagate Barracuda drive since its around half the price. I was planning on installing additional RAM in the future but i will look at getting a 16GB kit since everyone has suggested it. The prices just seem to be too high at the moment.
  3. Thanks for your response Redicat, I will have a better look at your suggested changes. Thanks for clarifying your changes.
  4. Thanks for you advice. The only reason I had picked the i5 - 8600k was to future proof the system and allow for it to be overclocked considering a Z370 board is the only choice right now. From a graphics card perspective I will holding off on that until the prices stabilise but i will look into the 1060. Is there any particular reason why you changed the cooler or was it just down to price?
  5. Looking for thoughts on the build below. PC is for general use including design software (AutoCAD, MathWorks(Matlab)) as well as casual gaming. Probably looking at running without a GPU until the prices come down. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/BxbTWD
  6. I know. I was looking at the Ryzen 1600 with a B350 Motherboard but there a deal on the 1700x for about £20 more. Cheers
  7. Looking for thoughts on the build below. PC is for general use including design software (AutoCAD, MathWorks(Matlab)) as well as casual gaming. There is a deal on the Motherboard and CPU @ £300 for both. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/snf4Fd
  8. Thanks for the replies. I will look into the AMD Ryzen 1600 Processor. Do you have any recommended alternative Motherboards compatible with the Ryzen 1600 Processor (AM4 Chipset). With regards to the storage, I was looking at the 850 Evo originally but the price difference was only £30 so thought I would go with the 950 Evo as the boot drive. I could go with a cheaper disk drive as suggested which would save a bit. A disk drive will probably be recovered from an old computer if required. I will look at the prices for Windows as Windows 10 Home would be fine.
  9. Looking for opinions on the attached build. PC is for general use including design software (AutoCAD, MathWorks(Matlab)) as well as casual gaming. Thanks https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/m8xkQV
