  1. I think I’m gonna go with that. Cheers guys
  2. Haha I’m getting there. But yes performance is almost there but I don’t really trust 2nd hand cards and a 10 series would hold its value more by the time 1180ti gets released imo. Or do you guys think 980ti would also hold its value
  3. Hey guys what a long arduous it has been for us builders through the past 12 months. Hopefully the end is in sight with gpu prices stabilizing across both AMD and Nvida (fingers crossed) I just wanted to share my multiple gpu changes through out the last 8 months and also get your opinions on my final purchase for the year. Current rig Cpu i7-7700k OC'd at 4.8Ghz Gaming resolution 1440p - 144mhz (option for both Free-sync and G-sync) PSU EVGA G2 850w Ok so I started building this system at around June 2017,I didn't have a existing desktop at that time as I was always traveling for work and ''gamed'' on a laptop. I purchased all the parts except for the gpu at the time as I decided to go the freesync route and wait for the Vega release plus I found an old gtx 750ti to tie me over until the release. So because I decided to go with amd, the monitor I chose was Acer XG270HU. Now long story short please see below for my gpu changes. Please note all values are in AUD and all items purchased are brand new from store unless stated otherwise October 2017 - Bought Vega 64(at it's rrp!!!) $600 December 2017 - Got offered $1300 for my gpu by a coin miner, of course I said yes January 2018 - Bought a 2nd hand r9 290x for $200 as I figured freesync was better than no sync and gave away my gtx 750ti February 2018 - Got offered $350 for my gpu again by a coin miner and again I said yes February 2018 - Decided amd gpu was just to enticing to miners and bought a gtx 1060 6gb for $350 while shopping for a gsync monitor(1080p 144mhz) May 2018 - Bought a AOC Agon AG271QG for $500(Refurbished) June 2018 - Bought a 2nd hand gtx 980ti hof for $400 and sold my gtx 1060 for $390 So to recap I started out with $600 to buy a graphics card, now I ended up with a gtx 980ti hof + an extra G-sync monitor and spent an extra $10 Now I'm sort of ok with the gtx 980ti's performance but whenever I buy a 2nd hand gpu my intentions were never to keep it for very long as I don't really trust 2nd hand gpus. I play a variety of different games So with that said which gpu would you guys recommend I get at the below price points Galax Gtx 1070ti HOF $700 (I have an all white build) XFX Vega 56 $700 Galax gtx 1080 Gamer $700 Cheers guys
  4. Hey guys need some help deciding on the these two specific cards below, prices are in usd and I'm located in Australia Galax Gtx 1080 HOF edition white for $690 Galax Gtx 1080 ti EXOC white for $870 I'll be mostly playing games on a 1440p 144mhz monitor (with g sync) and just wanted your opinion as to wether get one of the best gtx1080 or getting the base Gtx 1080 ti. I've thought about getting the 1080 hof first and maybe getting another later however that would mean getting a bigger psu plus single card is always better than sli. Just worried that a single 1080 wouldn't be enough But at the same time saving $180 is always good I do need to stick to Galax white cards for aesthetic reasons as I've got a Snow White build ( I know I know.....) your advice is greatly appreciated, other specs are below i7 7700k 5ghz @ 1.32v Asus prime z270-ar mobo 16gb trident z rgb 3000mhz Deepcool captain 240ex white Evga g2 750w gold+ psu Samsung 960 evo m.2 ssd 500gb 2tb seagate hdd nzxt s340 white
