Fast Internet + Ethernet | High Ping? *Please Help*
MagicTape replied to MagicTape's topic in Networking
Not only is it on Roblox in any server that I join but it's going on for my Steam games as well. I tried closing heavy applications that run in the background and letting the applications get bypassed by my security/firwalls but I can't seem to find the answer -
Fast Internet + Ethernet | High Ping? *Please Help*

It reaches upwards of between 200-300 ping and it's consistent. Won't go below 200 it'll just fluctuate between 200-300. In-game it's not like I lag but I can tell I'm really delayed in the things I do. My ISP is xfinity and I have the highest package available for the area I'm in, hence why I hit around 600 mbps. It's via ethernet and my router is sitting on my desk next to my PC. It's an all day thing with the only other devices using the wi-fi being my TC and console that're both off when I run PC. -

It's been a recurring theme in every game I play on Roblox. I live in Chicago and when given the choice I select Chicago/Illinois based servers to no avail. When you say the server has moved further away, does that mean it's possible the server says it's based in Chicago but might actually be hosted elsewhere? What're some steps that could be taken to strengthen the ISP if any? -
Hello! First and foremost I'm not a very tech savvy individual so if more pieces to the puzzle are needed in order to assist on a solution to this situation don't hesitate to let me know! I've noticed when allowing my cousin to play Roblox on my PC (a very light game that shouldn't have any issues running) that the ping is sky rocketing. I know your internet isn't the only factor that manipulates ping but I haven't always had this issue occur, as of recently it has been effecting the gameplay. I've tried restarting my internet on multiple different occasions as well as adjusted graphics in-game and ensured I was playing on the nearest regional servers. Anything help, thank you!

So recently I’ve put together my new gaming computer but had realized that my computer gives me no options to use my mic but has audio just fine. The headphones I use now are beats with a mic on them but obviously that’s not going to work. I was considering getting these based on the fact that they’re compatible with both Xbox and pc but am not sure if t will work properly on my pc. It only comes with the one audio plug in so I’m not sure if that will work by itself because it’s windows 10 compatible or will I need to get a adapter to have two plug-ins, the audio and mic?

Do you know the best way to re-flash windows and how the whole process works.

Yes I was I had multiple running at the time, I flashed my computer in order to get windows 10 on it, would I half to go through that process again and what will happen to all my saved data?

When I go to startup repair it states that It was unable to repair my pc and when I go to command prompt it says “Not enough memory resources are available to process this command” it seems like most of the issues that seem to pop up when I troubleshoot are reguarding memory or storage but I’m unsure where to go from there, when I try to continue straight to windows 10 it gives me the same Automatic Repair prompt

How should I go about fixing windows or HDD problems?
-
I came home today from school ready to get onto my computer but when I booted the machine up it ran as usual until a blue error message stating that that my PC did not start currently came up with only the options to click “Restart” or “Advanced Options” I’ve restarted the pc multiple times and also have checked inside of it to see anything that looks out of place. I know this problem can lead to lots of things but I felt like this would be the place for the best people to try and help me narrow down and fix this issue.

My PC isn't able to record my external audio with any of my headphones. I'm not sure if it's because I don't have a gaming headset or it's something with the actual options within the computer but the headsets I use do have mics attached to them and work perfectly fine on Mobile and other personal computers. What happens when I try to join a voice call on let's just say Discord, all that happens is other people only hear the internal audio of my computer like YouTube, any games that are running, etc. They can't hear the external audio such as my voice. It might be a simple issue like just not having a gaming headset but I believe that if I have headphones with a mic attached it should work just fine. Thank you.

I have two headphones plugged in right now, earbuds in the mic jack, and some normal beats headphones (they both have mics) plugged in. I can hear internal volume from my computer but when it goes to talking on Discord or even the windows control panel, no external audio picks up. https://gyazo.com/65eefa6c86043ee66bc1bdb58d542182 Also when I move my mic the Microphone bar lights up a tad just by me moving it around. Please ask questions so we can get the solution..

When I plug in my headphones and they have a mic on them and I've tried it with other headsets with mica too and it's a new pc that I'm using but when I plug them in I hear all PC volume just fine like video and game audio but my mic is not working. Instead of hearing my external audio being my voice it's internal audio from the audio that is playing from my games etc that people hear.
