  1. Hello, I have been using the current RAM for about 3 years. So, I'm thinking to add some additional RAM to my computer. The problem is that it is difficult to find the same XMP profile with my current RAM. Thinking to get the same exact RAM and brand, but I can't find it and seem to be discontinued. My current RAM spec is speed 3000 MHz, CL 16-18-18-36-68 What I can find in the current market speed 3000 MHz, CL 16-19-19-38 or 18-22-22-42-unknown or CL-16-18-18-38-unknown I found one with the same exact CL-16-18-18-36, but it doesn't mention the last number (68), and it's an unknown brand. So my question is that will I be able to enable XMP profile if the RAM have different CL ratings? Thank you
  2. Yes, I think I would need them, I'm a programmer, I do web / mobile apps development. I play games, watch some YouTube, trading cryptos, running some trading bots, messaging. These tasks seem to be simple tasks, but my Macbook just doesn't do it and plus I can't play games with my Macbook..
  3. thank you for your answer. I watched a lot of reviews on AMD vs Intel, seems like Intel is just so way behind AMD now. So I would avoid buying Intel now. I think many power users who needs a beefy spec are stuck with slow MacBooks because of macOS (including me). MacBooks always got the limited spec even the latest ones (haven't tried the M1 though).
  4. thank you for your answer, AMD seems to be releasing new Ryzen series every year. So why would it take 2 years for 6000 series to be released?
  5. I'm currently using a MacBook Pro 13" with 38" Ultrawide Display 3840x1600@144Hz. It's just not running smooth enough for my workload, especially when I turn off my AC, it just gets hot and laggy. So for that reason, I am currently planning to build a small workstation and gaming station with Ryzen 5950X. With prices are currently going down in my area, it makes me feel like new stuffs are coming out soon. Maybe Ryzen 6000 or 5950G (Ryzen 9 with APU)? Also it seems like B550, and 5950X is a last year product and reaching the end of the release cycle. What would you recommend, should I wait or just get them? If I get them now, I'm afraid that I would regret it when I see the new ones come out in the next 1-2 months..
  6. Ok, thank you very much for the answers and explanations. I confirmed that my understanding was correct. So it's all just illusion. I agree that it has nothing to do with aspect ratio, but the aspect ratio causes this illusion.
  7. So it is basically useless, if I buy 3440x1440 monitor for more real estate on my workspace compared to 4K. Because I actually ended up with less space unless I buy 5k2k monitor.
  8. So basically 4K actually can fit more windows than 3440x1440 and my understanding is correct?
  9. I'm currently using 4K@27" monitor and wondering if I should buy 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor. When I see the numbers in 4K, the resolution is 3840x2160 which is more space horizontally compared to 3440x1440? But when I watch the reviews on YouTube, how come the 3440x1440 seems to have more space (3440 < 3840)? Is this just an illusion, or my understanding of resolution is wrong? I tried to fit 3 windows on my 4K monitor, and I just can't fit them nicely, but on 3440x1440 I watched on YouTube, seems like 3 windows are fit nicely.
  10. I have a GPU MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X Plus, it shows 9GHz memory speed on the package, but on CPU-z it only shows 4500 MHz. Anybody knows if it's normal?
  11. I think my system can't go above 3.75GHz, it always crashed at cinebench when I set it to 3.8GhZ
