So I would another 1 and 3tb hdd? That sounds rather inconvenient Would it be better for my usecase to just install linux on a different smaller hard drive and share the 1 and 3tb hdd as network folders?
-
I only have those 2 drives as my mass storage. I just want to be able to access the data that's on them via network so I don't have to hear the HDD noise in my desktop. Is FreeNas not a good way to do this?
-
I managed to set up FreeNas via CD and put it on a 8gb usb stick. I connected the 3tb and 1tb hdds from my main rig to the FreeNas PC. What do I do now? I have LOTS of stuff on both drives. I'm afraid they'll get wiped if I do something wrong. It says that if I create a new pool the disks will be wiped. What should I do? I don't want to lose all my stuff

Hi guys I'm a complete noob with networking and NASs and such and I really need your help. I have an old computer with 2gb ram (can't upgrade) and a core2duo e6600 My main computer has a 1tb and a 3tb hdd in it alongside a boot ssd, but I really hate the noise the hard drives are making, so I want to make it so that I can access my HDDs via ethernet on that old PC. I have windows 7 32 bit on it right now,but I can't seem to get fileshare to work from that PC to my main rig. It won't give me access. I put FreeNas on a usb drive and tried to boot off that so I can install it, but the old PC just won't do it. Just to make sure, I've tested the boot drive on my main rig and it worked just fine, so I guess that's not going to work. If someone here could help me configure that PC as a nas I would be very grateful, but as I already said, I am a complete noob and I don't know what to do. Thanks in advance for your help.

I agree. For right now, an RX570 and sandy bridge or ivy bridge i5 would work very well and has the best value, but I also believe it's a better choice to get a ryzen 2200g with a b450 board and upgrade later when you need it, without needing to replace your motherboard and ram.

Hello everyone I've been looking around for a while and I can't seem to find a good answer. What cooler do you need to cool a 3900X properly? Would a Scythe Mugen 5/Ninja 5/Fuma 2 be enough to cool a 3900X? Would a mild overclock be possible? Keeping temperatures below 75C or so. Would an Arctic 34 esports duo be enough? Sorry for the odd post but I'm just very curious.

Hi guys So I have had some trouble with gaming headsets. The only ones that I've found to be comfortable were the Logitech G430s, but mine broke a while back, so I bought some Cloud IIs, which after about 2 minutes hurt my ears quite badly, so I returned those and got Corsair HS60, which, for some reason hurt my ears a little bit which I was OK with but it also really hurt my head no matter how I wore them. I have always prefered IEMs in terms of comfort. Are there any IEMs that are reasonably cheap and sturdy that sound better than G430s? Preferably with a decent microphone. If not, what would be a good cheap microphone for discord? Also, I don't have any speakers on my PC right now and my monitor doesn't have them built in so I was also wondering if there are decent VERY cheap speakers for pc (under 15 euros) Sorry for the long post. I'm a complete audio noob and just want decent sound in and out of my computer. Thanks in advance for your advice.

So there is regular DDR2, BUFFERED DDR2 ECC and UNBUFFERED DDR2 ECC? Where can I get unbuffered ecc ddr2?
-
So do I have buffered ECC RAM?

Hi guys I have a XW4400 with a core 2 duo and 2gb DDR2 I looked at the manufacturer's website and a few other sites and apparently if you want more than 2gb ram, you need DDR2 ECC RAM So I got some. It does not physically fit. The motherboard uses a 975X chipset. If anyone could tell me if it does actually take more than just 2GB of regular RAM, or another solution, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance

Hi guys So I just built a Core2Duo rig from a smashed up case with a motherboard with an e6600 I saw lying in the trash while I was walking home from school. (I asked the guy who owned it if I could take it first of course) I put an old HD7750 in it, got it a PSU and put in 2GB of DDR2. I put Windows XP SP3, Linux Mint and Windows 7 on a HDD and it works perfectly for old games like Left4Dead and streaming HD video, but only in XP and Linux. It struggles with everything in Windows 7. I believe the CPU and GPU can handle Win 7 just fine, but according to resource monitor the RAM usage is at 1.5GB at the least at all times, and the PC just gets unusable when I try to open anything more than a text based website. Do you think a RAM upgrade to 4 or 8GB would make this PC more usable in Win 7? Sorry for the long post and thanks for your advice

Hi guys, My Logitech G430 sadly died about 2 weeks ago, and I just got the 50 euros I paid for it back (RMA). During that time I've been thinking about what sort of headset I should get to replace it. I want something that is just as comfortable as or more comfortable than the G430 (big, soft cups and liner without too harsh of a clamp), so I thought maybe I'll just get another 430, but then I saw the 432 for the same price, which is supposed to sound better, but has a shorter cable which is annoying for me because I like to put my headphones on, sit on the couch and watch a movie, but that requires a long cable or wireless headphones. A great microphone isn't a must, but it needs to be clear so as not to annoy my friends online I also love listening to music, and quite like watching movies but I know literally nothing about audio, but I want something that sounds better than the G430. I have no idea what to get. Does anyone have any recommendations for a headset that sounds good, is comfortable and preferably has a long cable/wireless connection and surround sound. My budget is around 50 euros, but if it's really good I could go up to 90 at the very highest. Sorry for the long post but headsets are very important to me because I plan to use them for atleast a few years. Thanks for your advice. Edit: After some thinking, I've got some more "requirements" I would really like for the headphones to be wireless and look quite discrete so I can wear them in class or on public transport without feeling like a dunce Edit: Here's a list of headsets I'm considering. I'd love to get some feedback on this list https://tweakers.net/gallery/858655/inventaris/ Which of these headsets is the BEST?

Are they comfortable and they sound better than G432? G400 series has 7.1, how much of a difference does it make? They look a little bit cheap. I might be wrong though What are the pros and cons vs the G430/432?

Hi guys I just installed the new rockstar launcher a few days ago because apparently you have to. Now it says I have to install GTA 5 eventhough I already have it installed on my PC. Do I really have to delete it and wait like 4 days for it to download 85GB again? Or can I direct the launcher to my install folder somehow? Thanks for your help

True, but I find those too expensive to justify buying one considering their limited functionality
