  1. Huh that's odd. So going from the PC being the source, right now it's HDMI output from videocard to an adapter that turns HDMI to composite which then goes to the CRT. What I want now is displayport output from the videocard, to an HDMI cable going into the composite adapter and CRT as before. That should work, right?
  2. Hi Very specific problem here. TL;DR: will DP to HDMI to composite/RCA work? From PC to CRT tv. I often play emulators on PC but display them on an old CRT TV. The TV has the composite red yellow white cables which go to an adapter that adapts the CRT signal to HDMI. Now I have a different videocard which doesn't have an extra HDMI port so the question is if a passive Displayport to HDMI adapter would work in this case. Based on my limited knowledge and what is displayed on the product pages this should work, but Im not sure so I ask you guys. Any help is appreciated. This is the link to the DP HDMI adapter https://www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/staza-displayport-naar-hdmi-adapter-kabel/9300000086148605/ This is a link to a similar composite to HDMI adapter : https://www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/tulp-naar-hdmi-adapter-av-composiet-rca-to-hdmi-audio-video-kabel-zwart/9200000094776467/?Referrer=ADVNLGOO002013-S--9200000094776467&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA1MCrBhAoEiwAC2d64WAjFhZbLIY49M1V3AlFyPlEVLMgwiB_VlMGPgpNbX4lwOTUxEIa1xoCx1sQAvD_BwE
  3. I settled on the LG 27GN800-B because the Gigabyte monitor isn't available here for under 450 after many hours of comparing to all monitors under 320 euro because that is my max budget. Thanks for your help
  4. You're right, thanks. But the m27q p is not available at all where I live and I haven't heard those youtubers explain *why* those 300 euro 1440p IPS monitors are better than the 200-250 euro versions from the same brands. What is it about them? Response time seems to be the same just like size, brightness, refresh rate and inputs. Also I've seen many people recommend the M27Q P for about 250 but that and the popular ASUS monitor I can't find for under 350 euro's in the Netherlands, they're often over €400 I'm sorry if I seem annoying but I just don't get it
  5. Could you please explain to me or provide a link to an explanation as to what it is about those 300 euro monitors that makes them so much better? I believe you on your word but the specs and product pages give me no reason to think there is a big difference between the 200 and 300 euro options. My apologies if this is a stupid question but I just don't understand.
  6. Hi everyone. TL;DR Really want new monitor under €250, can't choose betweeen these 6 so pls help The links to the monitors should be in this "monitor 2022" list. https://tweakers.net/gallery/858655/inventaris/?inv_id=3087284 I really want to finally after 8 years upgrade from my 32 inch 1080p monitor to something nicer. I decided on 1440p 27" as that seems to be a reasonable spec for quality, budget and what my pc can actually run games on. Now the trouble is my budget is no more than 250 euro's and I have found these 6 monitors within that limit, but I just can't figure out which one would be best. They all have pretty much the same specs bar some being VA instead of IPS and give or take 20Hz. What would you recommend and why? Thanks for your advice :)
  7. Hi everyone I need a laptop for uni which I want to use for normal school work (text documents, spreadsheets etc) but also 3d animation and gaming. Now I have found an ASUS TUF laptop for 1250 euros with a ryzen 6800H and an rtx3070 which seems like a smashing deal to me but I am very afraid that in the next month or so laptops with ryzen 7000 or intel 13th gen processors will come out for similar prices and render this option obsolete. However I cannot really find info on when those will be coming out. So I ask you, should I wait for 13th gen or even 13th gen + nvidia 4000 laptops or just buy this for 1250? I have been pondering this for a few weeks now and I really can't decide Any advice is appreciated :)
  8. Hi everyone I have been using my Logitech G15 for a few years now and I absolutely love it. The LCD,the USB passthrough, the built in media controls, the macro keys and the windows lock button are awesome. The one thing I don't like about it is typing, which is kind of important for a keyboard. Generally it is just fine, especially for gaming it doesn't really matter, but when I'm typing large documents for school it really just doesn't feel nice to type on. It is too soft, heavy unresponsive and uncomfortable to type on. I have already accepted that there is no keyboard with the same kind of awesome built in lcd screen but I really want to keep my macros and USB passthrough if possible. Nowhere can I find a keyboard that fits my criteria, even if I were to have no budget limitations. The old corsair K95 had everything but the lcd screen but I can not for the life of me find one used in the Netherlands and obviously it is no longer being sold new. The absolute most I can spend on a keyboard would be 100 euros but that is really a lot for me and would have to be a product I know I can use for the next 5+ years. Do you guys have any recommendations? I do really want it to be mechanical, preferably with brown or blue switches. TL;DR Want to replace G15 but keep macros,USB passthrough and media controls with a brown/blue switch keyboard. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks
  9. Hi everyone I don't understand why but my PC runs incredibly slowly with 8GB RAM. When I switch it to 6GbB (from 4x2 to 3x2) it works fine. I've tried different RAM configs (different slots, different brands, different speeds) but it makes no difference. This is really frustrating because I do want to be able to use at least 8GB. The board is Gigabyte P35 DS4 (lga 775) and should support 8gb of ddr2. I can't reflash the bios because the flash utility thinks I have the file on a floppy disk but the computer doesn't even have a floppy drive and i can't change it in the settings. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  10. Yes it does. I've checked and it should work just fine according to AMD
  11. Hi everyone I'm having trouble with my computer It has a Q6600 with 8GB RAM and an HD 5850 Everything works until I install the gpu drivers After I install the drivers, Windows loads up, shows me the splash screen And then absolutely nothing, just a black screen. The fans in my pc also ramp up. I've used multiple different drivers through safe mode (of course I used DDU ) and reinstalled windows a few times but it makes no difference. I'm going crazy here, I don't understand why it's not working. It would be awesome if someone could help me. Thanks in advance
  12. Hi everyone I went on vacation for about a month and since I came back my PC has been performing like crap. Eventually I figured out that the clock speed of my gpu keeps dropping in game, but I have no idea why. GPU temps are very low, cpu temps are fine, cpu clocks are fine, my PSU is a Corsair TX650M Gold with an R5 1600 and GTX 1070Ti Edit: My drivers are up to date and I haven't done anything in MSI afterburner or any other OC program Any help would be greatly appreciated
  13. I've tried USB 2 3 and 3.1 ports on my pc, though I'm pretty sure the cable is only USB 2 and so are the laptops
  14. No it doesn't have a power plug but in theory the power from the PC should be enough There's no way the laptops output more usb power
  15. Hi everyone I'm trying to connect my old 2.5" hdd to my computer with a sata usb adapter, but it won't work. When I use the exact same cable, adapter and hdd on a laptop, everything works perfectly. One of my laptops is a 14 year old lenovo thinkpad and the other one is a very cheap crappy celeron laptop, but both of them can see, write to and read from the hdd. When I connect it to my PC ( 650W gold psu 1070ti r5 1600), the hdd spins up for a bit and then stops. Sometimes it shows a drive in drive settings with "no media inserted" I am at a loss I can't imagine why a random pair of laptops would work but a decently powerful pc doesn't Thanks in advance for your help
