You'll be perfectly fine with using that mobo with a 13700kf

bellabichon reacted to RONOTHAN## in Appraisal For Used PC
I'm in the US, so I'll give the pricing I'd expect to see for it then convert to CAD at the end. I'd be expecting somewhere between $700-900 for the setup without the monitor depending on how quickly someone wants to sell it, maybe a little higher since you've got lots of RGB with the case and RAM (this usually adds about $50 to the value in my experience, though it is usually harder to sell with the RGB so you may just ignore that extra $50). Throw in the monitor for another $100 (I'd expect it to go for $150 on its own, bundle pricing) so I'd expect to see this listed for between $800-1000. Convert that to CAD and you'd get somewhere between $1100-1300 CAD, though this will depend on just how active the used market near you is (it's relatively active near me, so take that for what you will that my prices might be a bit lower than your local prices).

bellabichon reacted to John877 in NorthRidgeFix Reaction to Linus's Soldering
This guy is part of a two man crew running a shop in NorthRidge Cali and makes videos fixing peoples stuff. Its actually pretty cool to watch the microsoldering and all the tools and techniques used if you dont already know how some things are done.
Anyway I guess he made a video reacting to Linus's recent video:
Here is his video:

Impossible to tell at the moment, unfortunately. I wouldn't make any final decisions on a PSU until that new hardware actually comes out and can be tested for real-world power consumption.

bellabichon got a reaction from Gredes in Rate my build (suggestions are welcome)
Overall, looks pretty good to me, except that DDR4 motherboards aren't compatible with DDR5 (it's a different design at the hardware level), so you'll want to reconsider that choice if future-proofing is big concern for you.
I was going to mention the 32GB RAM but seeing as you plan to play Anno 1800 (and boy does that game ever suck RAM), that seems like a pretty motivated choice to me. For the GPU, I have an MSI Ventus 3070 myself and it has served me well, so no issues with that choice there.
Only other suggestion would be that Samsung drives tend to be somewhat overpriced for the money (which I say as the owner of both a Samsung 860 and 970 lol), but I'm not too familiar with hardware pricing in NL so it might well be the best option for you.
Other than those few considerations, looks pretty good to me.

bellabichon got a reaction from Needfuldoer in 1X16 gb ddr4 ram vs 2x8 gb ddr4 ram
Dual channel is definitely a decent jump in performance over single channel, so it's something you should look into if you want to get the full performance out of the hardware you have. However, because you already have one 16gb stick, you could just upgrade. Would it be within your budget to buy another 16gb stick (preferably the same model as the one you already have, for compatibility purposes)? That way, you could get dual channel as well as 32gb of total RAM, and you wouldn't have to get rid of your old stuff.

In the long term, definitely a good practice to shut down/restart occasionally to prevent issues, but for three days you'll be completely fine.

bellabichon reacted to Helpful Tech Witch in Is it fine to leave my PC on 24/7?
It can cause serious performance issues after a while, though.
Tiny memory leaks are common and so are background processes building up. After 3 months a noticable performance increase is possible

No its not. Paste dries out over YEARS, you probably just have higher ambient temps by a few degrees or a bit more workload.

bellabichon reacted to Middcore in Ryzen 3700x is garbage for gaming
At no point in your previous post asking for recommendations did you say you already had a system with a 9900 and a 3060 ti. If you had, anyone could have told you that the performance uplift of either the 3700x/3070 or 5800x/3060 ti systems over your existing parts would have been marginal at best. Anyone would have also told you that the 3700x is a weaker gaming CPU than the 9900, and when gaming at only 1080p (a waste of this hardware) the CPU is going to be the limiting factor in many cases.
Of course, all of this information is easy to find in lots of other places besides this forum, but making the effort of doing your own research doesn't let you come back and reproach strangers on the internet for supposedly leading you astray when they took the time to give you free advice.

Can you drop a link to the listing? I'm not a giant fan of Ebay, and $500 for multiple 3090's seems wayyy too cheap, especially in this current market.

In my experience, that's pretty normal and I don't think it's an indication that you have a virus. Looking at my laptop right now, it's using around 450MB. You could run a virus scan if you're worried, but I don't think you need to worry.

The Ryzen 5 1600 should definitely be compatible with an A320 motherboard, so I would try re-installing your old CPU and updating the BIOS to the latest version.

bellabichon got a reaction from chair1234 in 2080 super ventus xs oc hot vram
That's a little high, but not completely unexpected, especially since it's a dual card (two fans instead of three). It's normal for VRAM temps to be quite a bit higher than core temps, and it'll only start thermal throttling when the VRAM hits 110C. You could try a more aggressive fan curve or reducing core clocks in MSI Afterburner, but according to Nvidia, your temps are within spec.

bellabichon reacted to Mister Woof in Will a 3800X give me noticeably better performance?
5800x would be a significant improvement daresay even on a 3070 esp. in more CPU-heavy games as described. Although you could probably get the same bump from a 5600x. That said, the 5600x isn't on sale and if the 5800x is only $40 more, then absolutely get that.
