  1. Sorry for not updating till now, I RMAed my RAM and the issue is now resolved. I guess ASUS really fried my RAM a long with the CPU and Mobo. Btw, would it be safe to enable expo now that the issue is supposably resolved?
  2. I did the memtest, does this mean my RAM is the culprit, or could it be something else? This was after only the first pass
  3. So my RAM could be killing the CPU and Mobo, or just the ram could have been damaged due to the overvolting?
  4. I'm not running EXPO or any OCs, I'll try the memtest and get back to you
  5. I bought these parts back in March, I ended up being a victim of the ASUS overvolting problem so I already RMAed the Mobo and CPU. I rebuilt it a couple of weeks ago and it was working fine until a few days ago
  6. Previous post I made regarding my situation: While I was doing more troubleshooting I encountered this blue screen I then did a windows memory check and it said that hardware errors were detected. When the memory check finished this came up. What could be going on here, is my RAM dying?
  7. Been having issues with my system the past couple of days. Whenever I try to load up a game, it crashes and I black screen back to the desktop. I ran 3Dmark timespy with no problem though. One time when a game crashed on me it said that the GPU driver timed out, so I reinstalled my GPU driver using DDU but that did not fix the issue. I also looked at the temps under load/when it crashes but nothing is overheating. Additionally I also did a system file scan but that also did not work. Should I try a clean install of windows? Help would be really appreciated. 8. What about ATX 3.0 VS non ATX 3.0?
  9. Hey all, do I recently got a RX 7900 XT and a Ryzen 9 7900X to upgrade my system. I also need to upgrade my PSU and I have a few questions. first would be the wattage, I was planning on getting a 1200W unit to be future proof, but is that really necessary, or would a 1000W unit be good for the future as well? Also should I get a ATX 3.0 Unit or does that not really matter? Some of the units I've looked at buying are, Thermaltake toughpower GF3 1200W ($230), Corsair RMx Shift series 1200W (~$270), and Seasonic vertex GX 1200W ($290). Would any of these units be good or do you have other suggestions?
  10. Hi all, so I recently upgraded my system and things have been going beautifully for about 2 weeks now. Last night I was playing some Destiny 2 when the screen froze for about half a second. Then the screen when black and all of my peripherals turned off. The fans in the PC kept running as well as the LEDs I have stayed on. I hard shut off the PC and turned it back on, but the POST hanged on the CPU light. I can't get the PC to POST now, it hangs on either the CPU light or DRAM light seemingly at random. I tried clearing the CMOS, reseating the RAM, and reseating the CPU but to no avail. Full system specs are below. Please help. Edit: forgot to mention that I also made sure that the motherboard was screwed in all the way, and that all the power cables are plugged in good. 11. Previous post I made on this topic: the same thing happened again two nights ago, only this time I can't get the PC to POST at all. I tried clearing CMOS and moving the memory modules around but to no avail. Also, sometimes the POST will hang on the CPU light and other times it hangs on DRAM. Please help.
  12. I hard powered it again and then it POST into safe mode. It seems to be working fine now, I'm just confused as to what caused this or if I should be concerned. I'm not running any undervolts or overclocks, in fact I'm running my CPU in 105w eco mode. I do have EXPO enabled though. I'll leave the full system specs below. AMD Ryzen 9 7900X ASUS B650E-F gaming WiFi G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5 6000 CL 36 32Gb (2x16gb) XFX Mercury 310 Radeon RX 7900 XT EVGA Supernova G3 750w 80+ gold 240 gb SATA SSD 1TB HDD 1 TB M.2 SSD Be Quiet Dark Base 700
  13. Sure I could post a picture once I get it built. Btw, what's your experience with AMD GPUs, this will be my first one and I'm kinda nervous as I've heard mixed stories. Some people have had good experiences some have had bad ones from what I have heard.
  14. Recently my 2080 Ti of 4 years started dying on me. I went ahead and bought the microcenter Ryzen 9 7900X bundle and I ordered an RX 7900 XT. I just now thought of PSU stuff and I'm worried my current PSU won't be enough to power the new parts. I have an EVGA 750w G3 80+ gold PSU. I' have seen some conflicting answers, with some people saying I'll be fine while others say I should get a 1000w PSU. Will my current PSU work? I'll put a link below to my PC parts picker if that helps. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xsQBVw
  15. Hey,, sorry for the late update, I ended up purchasing the microcenter 7900X bundle and I have a XFX 7900 XT MERC 310 on the way. I've been getting mixed messages though regarding my PSU. Some people have said that 750w won't be enough while some have said it will be fine. One guy told me that 850 would be minimum while 1000w would be ideal. What are your thoughts?
  16. I actually found an XFX speedster 7900 XT for the same price, would that be a better option?
  17. I'm looking into upgrading my system after my 2080 Ti started dying. I saw that my local microcenter has the ASRock RX 7900 XT phantom gaming in stock for $850 and the RX 7900 XTX of the same model for $1050. Is ASRock a good GPU brand, I know there motherboards are good, but I've never owned one of their GPUs as this will be my first AMD GPU. As a side note, which of these would be a better option for 1440p 144hz ultra settings gaming, or would one of Nvidia's offerings be better?
  18. Aight, I'll try that, any way I could better see if it is fixed? How long while using the other card should I wait before determining the culprit?
  19. Update 2/17 I didn't end up swapping out the parts, I instead reseated the GPU and thoroughly sprayed it with compressed air. This fixed the issue for about a week, but it has now returned? Should I still try my other card, or could it be a MB issue?
  20. Hey thanks for your help, one last thing. If I end up pulling the trigger, would it be better to use the motherboards built in WIFI of the TP-Link WIFI 6 card I currently have?
  21. I bought my cooler before AM5 existed, so I'm assuming I need to get the new kit from them? I know it's free if you request it
  22. I currently have two 140mm intake at the front and two 140mm exhaust (rear and top) so I think I should be good. Also, is the AM5 mounting kit for Noctua coolers the same as the AM4?
  23. Also, would it be worth getting a new case, I have a Be Quite! Dark base 700. It's a really nice well made case, but the air flow could be better as it has a solid front panel.
  24. Are AMDs new GPUs reliable, or is Nvidia just a better option? Also what are E cores? I haven't kept up with the hobby much for 2 years, but I've seen it mentioned when talking about Intel CPUs.
