Isn't this a bit like saying you don't believe the theory of relativity because you haven't done a test on it yourself. You can take other people's evidence as fact surely?

If it means anything I have three separate qualifications in electronic engineering, are all out dated 20 year old graduate certificates.  Other than that I have 30 years experience assembling amplifiers, designing and installing theaters, P.A systems as well as HT audio calibration plus consultation and sound engineering for live events.  Even with all this, when people don't like what I am saying they just dismiss me right out of hand.  I can tell you first hand that any bit of paper or personal experience you have means absolutely nothing if the person you are talking to disagrees with what you are saying.

$350 is a flat out lie. The Laredo is $99 and the Silverado is $199 on CHC's website. Love my Silverado.

taste is not something that you can attribute numbers to across a stretch of people.

also tastes vary over time. 2 months ago I favored my dt770 20% over my ath M50 but today that number is in the opposite direction

ShearMe's right, no real need for that much amplification for the HD598, you'd just have it set to 1 out of 10 the whole time. Maybe just stick with the E17 if it's reasonably priced down under  . 

I think people are exaggerating saying they are better than the HD800, more of a personal preference I expect because they are a warm, fun sounding headphone rather than the analytical HD800. The X1 are never really £270 it's just Amazon's DFS style sale of "was X now Y" but that is as low as I have seen them, was considering them myself.

not really sure the Grado are going to be that good unless you go up to the higher end ones, which the EU don't really get a good deal on so you'll pay through the nose. Lots of choice really though at that price.

just need a washed up rapper to hype their product and walk around with their product around their neck.
