So, the workload is more for his wifes job. Hes not sure what programs, but I dont think its too crazy intense stuff. Just may need multiple programs running at once.

Ya I think amd may be a better option for what he needs.

I just asked him what kind of programs need to be run. And that list I just threw together real quick. Im sure things will be swapped in and out. And amd is an option, but I have always built intel and dont know much about their processors/ video cards.

So I am pretty good with building pcs, water cooling and higher end stuff, however my friend asked me to help Him build a pc on a budget of around one thousand usd. I have no idea where to start. It will mostly be used for work related things and maybe occasional games. For work it needs to support a dual monitor setup. This is what i came up with real quick. Any advice? It would be really appreciated. intel i5 9600k - $238.98 Geforce rtx 2060 - $399.55 Evga supernova 650 - $119.95 Msi b360 mobo - $99.99 Samsung evo m.2 1tb ssd - $169.99 16gb corsair vengeance ram - $99.99 Nzxt mid tower - $82.23 Totaling approx $1200.00 I am looking for advice to either improve cost/performance ratio. I am sure I did not pick ideal parts all the way through. And for what it needs to do I may have went overboard in areas. Just needs dual monitor and be semi quick with maybe a few programs up at once for work.

I ordered some of darkside uv led strips to try out. They looked pretty promising.

Im like stuck on swapping my cathodes out or not lol. Strips seem better, but I dunno. Plus don't need to try and hide the boxes. Do they have different lengths?

Also keyboard cowboy can you post your case lighting with the cathodes so I can see it?

Ahh ok. I actually do have 2 spares because at first I had blue cathodes in there and then realized I wanted uv for the liquid. I also just went out yesterday and got new Velcro to use because the stuff it came with is apparently garbage and wasn't holding the light on the top.

Ya I know UV is not good when in high dosages, but that small amount should not be an issue. What I am not sure of is how it effects pc parts? It isn’t harmful to the parts is it?

My current build is using 4x cold cathodes, but feel like there must be better UV lighting stuff out there. I have been searching, but have not really found alot of info and asked a few people what they used in their cases with no responses. Heres how it looks. Any opinions are appreciated. Heard cold cathodes will just die after a year. And I am sure there must be better UV lighting options out there since these aren't really hitting all my tubing?

Thanks so much man. Really appreciate it. Overclocked to 5.0GHz. Running great. The cold cathode uv lights seem to be working well, but if anyone knows any better uv lighting options I would be open to it since these cathodes are not the brightest uv lights I have seen.

Still need to cable manage the back and waiting on custom 24 pin and pcie’s from cable mods but added uv lighting and inside is basically done besides moving the ssd’s to the front.
