Please do not use Bluetooth for input. They're not stable enough and will not work well when outside OS. Use USB And as far as I can tell most SBDs have a display output right? then why use HDMI rather than onboard output.... BTW I think if there's really a dongle needed, it should be a i-dont-know-what connector to eDP.

I got a Toshiba Z40-A laptop, and I throw an Intel Pro 5400s SSD in it. But somehow, this SSD can't work well on my pc. Windows 10 can't be booted after several reboots and upgrades, Windows 7 always automatically stop working. But stangely, while using Ubuntu, none of these problems happened. I was wondering why. Can anyone give me some help?

I'm thinking to modify my Clevo P775 series laptop to an AIO. Basically, you put the MTB out and using eDP port to connect a panel, and call it a day and is it possible to jump wire a TB3 dock and a touch panel on the mtb and call it a customized Surface Studio?

My laptop's CPU and GPU can be swapped. Linus made a video about that kind of laptop -

MXM format GeForce GTX 1070 8G I can boot and show my screen, the driver and Windows all detected the gpu but I just can't run games or benchmarks on that. 3DMark demo just go black and sound still goes on -
Should I get a Surface Book in 2018?
PegionFish replied to PegionFish's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
ThinkPads are THE BEST I've got myself a T430 and it works very well. Thank you for you information -
My Clevo P775DM2-G laptop's 1070 GPU has come back from a friend but I can't run benchmark on that. I've installed the latest version of Windows 10 and NVIDIA driver but neither LuDashi nor 3DMark Demo from Steam runs well. I assume that this is because my GPU's thermal paste is not good so I changed 7921 but the bug still remains. Can anyone tell me why the hell is going on?

Thanks, btw I now stop thinking about that -
Oh sorry I didn't notice the price tag but my suggestion still wouldn't change. No P series then go with something a bit low-end You can still have great cooling and expandability but it should be noticed that Clevo devices usually requires better caring that other SKUs from brands
-
that's normal. dont panic just do your game If you really want to make the temp look better, just de-lid it as @KarathKasun say or just change your cooler

Go with Clevo. They make THE MOST POWERFUL laptop on earth. 6 core desktop overclockable chip GeForce GPU Four RAM slot two M.2 NVME SSD two 2.5inch SATA slot Thunderbolt 3 4k IPS what else do you want?

Well, this is Bob. I've got my Clevo P775DM2-G with customized BIOS that supports 6-core-i7 but I still need a thin and light stylus supported device with me when I got out for studying. I believe a lot of guys out there would understand me right? And since one of my family's friend is using Surface Pro 2, I think a Surface Book first gen would be a great choice since Skylake chips are not so out of date especially when I have my powerful PC here. All I want to do with this machine is to taking notes with OneNote\drawing and doing everything that a tablet would do(surfing the internet and watching videos. And I need to type a lot. Now I'm using "stylus" from my Wacom drawing pad. I'm not saying that sucks, I'm just saying that the fact it needs a full power PC to run sucks. Should I try to get my hands on it? If so, what spec should be the best? If not, do I have a better choice?

BTW there are some budget gamer use such SSDs for their game storage because following reasons: 1. They are cheap 2. They can beat a normal hard drive when it comes to gaming 3. They have warranty in China and all the games you can download from Steam or platforms like that make SSD life problem smaller
-
KingSpec.... To be honest, nobody in China that understands a little bit of PC building would go with such SSDs. They suck. And if I remember correctly, certain such SSDs have UFS chips from older smartphones. These chips are usually for cache or just disgusting sellers to convince you that his "Budget Build" is worth it. (After all, it's still an SSD right?) They can use X58 with 6-core Xeon and said that it's "i7-grade Processor" and you know how disgusting they are

Xeon E5-2680V2 or Ryzen 2700X
PegionFish replied to PegionFish's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I personally am not a overclock guy, so that might not be problem. For the motherboard, I was thinking get a HP Z270 Workstation with its X79 board -
